  1. Should be sorted now - though please feel free to use the report button if something is not working properly, that way the team get to see it straight away rather than in a thread that they may not read.
  2. Ive started collecting ones starting BA11 for my surname, thought I would be beaten to the punch by some footballer for BA11 BOY at a recent dvla auction, but not so
  3. Thats weird. When I edit the posts and retype the same code, it replaces the taxt with the correct smiley. If I simply dont edit the text and leave the smiley code as is and click save, then it doesnt fix the issue. Hmmph. Will need to think.
  4. I should be able to change the join date back yes. As for the smilies, they should have all been corrected when the posts were re-written to the database - though Im guessing there were some topics locked as people were reading them when I did that re-write process, thats whats borked the smilies in some posts. A quick click of the edit button on any of the posts that have the issue, change nothing and then click save should bring them back, as the code for each of the smilies is the same.
  5. Im a fan of private plates. Though as has been said, if you have to squint at a jaunty angle to see what its supposed to be saying, its naff. Sticking screws and or tape on the plate to make it read as something it would otherwise not, is also a bit naff. Ive spent way more than I should on private plates and have ended up with more plates than cars I can put them on.
  6. First service bill and extended warranty quote will do the trick, trust me..
  7. If depreciation is bad on the XF, bricks will be shat when you see what it's like on the XJ. 40% in 12 months perfectly achievable.
  8. Mine was the 275 bhp S model. Mine was the pre-facelift model, so had the "bubble eye" lights on the front. The new look on the facelift model is a great change and looks miles better. They have also fitted the new 8 speed auto box on the diesels in the new model I believe, which helps fuel consumption and also lowers CO2. The four pots are obviously aimed at the company car driver as the emissions are very low, but they look basic too. Single exhaust on the rear combined with the baloon tyres they fit on the basic rims make the car look positively odd in my opinion. Like its running on 4 get you home wheels. No doubt all good for emissions though. Havent seen the new interior, but if its like the last one but tweaked then it will no doubt be very good and the quality is excellent. Im assuming they may have updated the woods and leathers available to introduce some more modern looks. The options available with the pre-facelift model were a little limited and always felt like you had half a victorian sideboard for a dash. Dark ash or piano black would be my choice. Also, the S model now has sports seats, which were introduced just after I bought mine - and they are a must. The standard seats offer less lateral support than a picknic bench. Any long journeys involving bends and your passenger will end up with sore elbows from supporting themselves all the time. The drive will be OK as you have a steering wheel to hang onto, but you will be annoyed with the seats within your first month if you dont get the sports version. Just as comfy as the standard ones, but have side support. As is the case with any other marque, just make sure you are happy with the dealer you buy from. It was the dealer that spoiled my experience. Jaguar were utterly disinterested in the fact my car was not painted properly. Contrary to their story at the factory tour that they take upmost pride in their work and the "body in white" paint process (which is also used by bentley, rolls royce etc) ensures a perfect finish. When my car was delivered looking positively awful, Jaguar themselves just pointed me back at the dealer and could not care less about discovering if the fault had occured at the factory or post delivery to the dealer. Ignore all information on Jaguars website and literature advising that they have a passion for delivering quality etc etc.. Its crap. They care about the number of cars flying out the doors to dealers, and showing the factory off to customers. Beyond that, its between you and the dealer. Some Jaguar dealers belong to franchises that large, that Jaguar are actually powerless to invoke any kind of "investigation" or punishment upon a dealer that gives crap service to a customer, because they are scared of the franchise just pulling out of the Jaguar market. So ensure you are very happy with your dealer before you enter into the purchase. Other than that, the cars are actually pretty good. Though the depreciation is quite harsh.
  9. Had the XFS 3.0V6. Fairly quick, crap in bends, nice quality on the inside, great luxury place to sit, nice smooth ride, painted by blind apes, and accelerates only mildly faster than it depreciates.
  10. You can either: select the text from one of the previous posts, i.e. click and drag over the list of names, press CTRL+C and then paste that in as a quick reply, and add your name at the bottom. or quote the post with the list in, and remove the opening and closing quote tags. What I suspect is giving this error, (and does gove this error if you do it), is you click "quote" on one of the posts that has the list of names on, then you delete the bit at the bottom that says [ /quote] and replace it with your name. If you do that, you will get the error. If you click quote, to get the list of names up in your reply, then you need to delete the opening [ quote] as wel as the [ /quote] at the bottom. If you quote a post, and then remove the closing [ /quote] tag, you will get the error as shown above.
  11. Dint go this year. Mainly because of the value. I think last year with getting entrance to the classic car show as part of the ticket price it was a lot better value for money. Still if its anything like last years show it will still be good entertainment.
  12. The Canadian I spoke to from a large internet hosting company (the one with TV adverts on our screens at present), was very pleasant indeed. Utterly useless in resolving the issue, but most pleasant.
  13. The home page is the portal. (the one with the video on) If you click new content when on this page, it shows you new content for the portal. There isn't any new content on the portal, so you get "sorry no new content found". Think of it this way... the forum is no longer a forum, its several separate applications. Its a website with pages (the portal page "home" and any other specific pages we write) Its also a gallery (the gallery tab) its also a forum (the forums tab) Its also a database of members (the members tab) Its also a calendar (the calendar tab) If you are in one of those applications and click new content, it shows you new content for that application. Either way, I shall be re-writing the templates so that wherever you are, and whatever you are looking at, the "new content" button will just default to new content posted in the forums. Its just easier. If you want to search for new content in any other specific area, then when in the list of new forum posts, select an item like the gallery, members etc on the left.
  14. Is it connecting to the right forum url now? The old one had "/fourum" after the domain name - this new one doesn't. Check the link you have for tapatalk - if necessary remove the forum from the app and re-search for it.
  15. index.html is the portal page (the one with the video and latest gallery). If you click view new content on that, it shows you new portal content. There isnt any. If you are in gallery, and click new content, it shows you new gallery content If you are in the calendar list and click new content, it shows you new calendar events. What you are describing in Azure (or any theme other than Ultra Yellow) - is actually how the system is designed to work. It appears though that most people are using the view new content in order to see a list of new forum posts regardless of what they are looking at on the site at the time. Thats why weve tested the change in one theme to see if it works (you will notice that in Ultra Yellow there is also a donate button on the menu that is missing from the other themes). Once we are happy that we have one theme working properly with all the little tweaks we would like to see, then they will be replicated across the other colours. We can then use the theme with all the completed tweaks as a basis for making the 370z ones. Yes we intend to have the option for choosing a 370z to be at the top, in the range of 370z colours, but may as well have them include all the corrections from the off.
  16. What section of the forum were you in when you clicked the "view new content" ?? As before if you are in the front portal page, and click view new content, it shows you new content in that area (as we havent added any new portal pages, there is no new content)..
  17. Or take the opportunity to upgrade to windows 7. (check your system is compatible) With Windows 8 now available, Windows 7 will be cheap - and its a LOT better than Vista. You could keep your system cleaner than the queens bathroom and have no software installed on it ever, Windows Vista will find a way of clogging itself up and running like a dog again within the week.
  18. Thanks Vik. Am currently working my way through resetting and saving forum defaults, so eventually when you access a forum, you should see that "recently updated" is the default highlighted sort order.
  19. If it were me, Id take a couple of backups of any photos and important documents you want off the system, (run them through a virus checker on another system), then format the drives and re-install software from scratch. Also, if you have a fixed IP address assigned to your internet connection, ask your ISP if you can change it. Explain whats happened and hopefully they may do that for you. (if said scammers have your IP address, they may think you are a soft tap and try to find other ways back onto your system in the future). If you do rebuild your laptop, do not connect to the internet for any reason other than to install the latest windows updates and update your antivirus software That should just about do it.
  20. It would be relatively easy to add a field to be displayed - we are looking at the possibility of having a predefined list of locations (if it can handle the number of towns in the UK, plus a few options for countries outside the UK) People can then have the choice to leave it blank, or enter their nearest town/burgh etc, so its always useful.
  21. Thanks Jay - it has already been picked up in testing and is on the to do list of minor tweaks. It was certainly useful.
  22. Vik, Can you try the announcements section. It appears that mine also has the "custom" button highlighted on some sections. When I edit the forum setup, and save again without making any changes, it then reverts to the default order that I have set in the software of "recently updated". Can you see what is highlighted if you go to the Announcements section. I shall apply what Im doing to the offtopic section, but am slowly doing the same to all forums. Only just over a hundred to go...
  23. The custom header is highlighted for some reason, but the default sort is by last posted order. At least thats what its set to in the software. There is nowhere as far as I know to set your default sort order. Try setting your custom sort order to show them in last updated order and see if it remembers.
