Locking Wheel Nut Key desperately needed
Chesterfield replied to mattbowey's topic in 350Z Technical
Lee if all else fails if you can get this tool from these guys (circa £100 I think), it will get those off without damage to the nuts or wheel in two mins flat. Useful for other customers too so it could be sold on. http://www.dynomec.co.uk/ Mines not the same unfortunately. -
I wish. Short of footballers and people with the word sheik in their name I dont see how anyone can afford to run them.
-
The craftmanship in that is phenomenal. As above though, its great standing still, but on the move It may become apparent quite quickly that something is amiss. The running costs would be cheaper than a Veyron though. Just read the other day that after each 3 tyre changes (£25k each) Bugatti say the wheels themselves should be replaced at about £35k - so do 7500 miles per year and you are looking at £100k running costs in tyres and wheels alone.

+1 We will soon see road cars outclassing F1 cars. 1.6 Turbo with max 10,000 RPM? Won't a radical give that a run for its money?

A little late, and some may call it sour grapes - but Boris has gone up in my estimation for this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-11921692

PS - something else we have done is get a fake ring that looks exactly like the original and use that whenever you may be going abroad on holliday when you may have to rely on bog standard hotel safes etc. The wife still gets to have her jewelery on, but without the wory of losing something very expensive. If your (hopefully soon to be) fiance is paranoid about losing the ring you bought her, its something to consider as an option

Hi Jay, Depending on value, it may already be covered under your home insurance as most policies will cover individual items away from home up to a certain value, however this is not always the case, and the values covered can vary dramatically from policy to policy, so best to check. If it is not already covered, (which to be fair is most likely the case as engagement rings tend to be expensive fellows) then with most policies you can cover individual items up to their value, though you may need receipt evidence to back this up in the event of a claim. It is also adviseable to make sure you have good quality photographs of the item too just in case. You can cover items over the standard included individual item limit either for in the home (as would be the case for paintings/artwork for example) or for away from home (Jewelery/expensive bikes etc). Adding individual items can be quite expensive in relation to the rest of the policy however, so be prepared for a possible shock. Hope that helps.

Err, not exactly no. I'd happily let you know my experience with Jaguar and the XF, just not on this thread

Ah right - didn't realise you were employed by the council yourself. Yes - probably not the best position to be in if creating waves. Perhaps the gritter driver knows that this car belongs to a middle manager in the the same council? Mind you - its actions like that which demonstrate the attitude which gets him driving a gritter and you in middle management I suppose.
-
Im with the above - I would guess that there may be some damage from firing grit at the Nissan paintwork for that length of time will have caused some damage, not to mention the posibility of scoring rotors etc. Someone deserves to be on the dole for christmas for that, and if it were mine Id make damned sure someone was sacked for that. Pictures of the car and its deliberate vandalism by council workers sent to the local rag would do the trick. Id threaten them with that for a start.

Lets not get carried away Stuart "the brand" Baggs. I could probably turnover several million selling £10 notes for £9. The P&L account may not be up to much come accounts filing time, but the turnover would look great.

Id like to track down C154 COB - C IS 4 COB

The F1 plate now resides on one of Kahns Veyrons. There was a bunch of us that went to visit the showroom a few months back to have good nosey round and some bacon sandwiches (cobs) for a late breakfast

Actually its only wrong for 6 months of the year We cant auto change it as it would mess up the clocks for people who dont observe BST

My brother and I were unlucky enough to get two then Mind you Jaguar were on a four day week and ours were built Thursday afternoon, so technically we do have Friday afternoon cars I think its fair to say Top Gear arent eactly gentle with their cars, so they do fall to bits. I remember Jezza deciding it was the windscreen wipers making a funny noise on one ferrari so he stuck them down with masking tape and they were ripped off by the wind. They also probably dont get one thats gone through the "show car" process at the factory either. Ask Jay about Aston Martin and he has some horror stories too. In fact, when I was at the dealership for mine, they have an Aston section next door - in the garage at the back was a large crate with a DB9 V12 engine in that was being replaced under warranty.

They were excellent Enjoyed the meal out too - very nice steak, and Im now converted to veggie black pudding

Manchester Christmas Markets 2010 - pic heavy
Chesterfield replied to stanski's topic in Off Topic Discussion
It is a great site - very busy, and one year I think Id like to try and make it over midweek so I can take more time and not be as crowded. That would probably entail more of the alcoholic hot chocolates though -
If you are going to get stuck then outside a pub is not too bad I find them more entertaining on the inside.

Whats this installing stuff? Cant you just pop the game in and play on the PS3? Tempted to get a PS3 just for this game tbh, so interested in reviews

I agree - the service and "involvement" Ive had from the fezza garage is second to none, bearing in mind I only spent a little more with them and on a used car at that. You wont find me with a bad word to say about that dealership. Even though I purchased a used car, I still got a call from Maranello asking me all sorts of questions about the dealership and how I was treated. Now thats a manufacturer taking an interest in how the dealers service their customers.
-
Yes - they did. I expicitly told them I did not want the car touching as I was taking this further. They then took until 2 minutes to 5 on the last day my solicitor had given them to write back effectively saying the repair was fine and I should collect the car at my earliest convenience. Its still not right, but I cant be bothered to waste any more time chasing rainbows. The fact that Jaguar are happy to have companies that act in this manner selling their product, also speaks volumes for just how much JLR actually care about the aftersales service people get who purchase their product imho.
-
At least he knows its a manufacturing fault, so someone has taken responsibility for it. Its also not taken solicitiors letters to his dealer to get stuff reasonably sorted as far as Im aware. And we are yet to see if the paint comes back to a satisfactory standard. Jaguar/Hatfields repaired my car once, and it was unsatisfactory - it had ripples in the paint and after a short while it went opaque. They then took it away for "inspection" while I pursued legal action for adequate compensation or a replacement, as under my statutory rights they had undertaken a repair and failed to provide the quality repair as advised. During this "inspection" to determine what the problem was - they actually took it upon themselves to undertake yet another repair, which was NOT the agreement and contrary to my request that NO further repair action be undertaken as I was pursuing my legal right for refund or replacement (I even threw in the adequate compensation option for them too). They then wrote back via their solicitors saying the repair was of satisfactory standard, making no referrence to the fact it was a second repair and that this was performed despite my explicit request to not touch the vehicle any further. The paint to this day is now different on one side than the other. So while it is similar, it is not quite yet up to (or down to) the treatment I received from JLR and their authorised dealer. To be honest the dealer acted like some stereotypical back street afair and JLR apparently couldnt give a toss.

True - people will go out of their way to post on a forum about something negative. Certainly more effort will be taken to let people know of your dissatisfaction instead of your satisfaction.
