  1. Guys/Girls, Ive had notification that we need the club booking in by Friday, so Im wanting to close this tomorrow. Any more takers for tickets or +1 tickets, please note these now on the booking schedule (see above). Tickets will be secured tomorrow.
  2. The only reason I have one on one of my cars is that the insurance demands it. The cost for me was something like £150 activation (transferring the tracker details into my name) and I think its £200 a year or something like that. I very much doubt that insurers will reduce the premium for a Z by that much for having a tracker, so it boils down to how much you would like to get your car back if it were stolen. The cars that have insurance premiums of a level which "could" be reduced by £200 for having a tracker, will probably be on the list of cars that have a tracker as a mandatory requirement for insurance anyway. So as above, unless you are desperate not to lose your car and have to replace it with the payout in the event of theft then I wouldn't bother.
  3. Nah, both me and the neighbour are put to shame with the sound that comes out of the Maserrati GT S that lives across the road. Id probably give up a testicle to have the fezza sound like that. Tubi most certainly on the Christmas list
  4. If they didnt at least apologise, depending on what car I was in would affect my actions. All of them would result in some form of "tit for tat".
  5. Thanks again for some great organisation and a brilliant weekend away. Sorry we didnt stay for the final part of the drive on Sunday, but it was going to make it a long drive home otherwise. We will certainly be staying over the Sunday night next time, so we dont have the homeward bound journey or an early start to worry about the next day. An evening in the pub on the Sunday sounds just great Made some good new friends from all the new attendees this time and hopefully will see you all again at the next one - thanks for coming along and taking part in the weekend and making the club what it is.
  6. The sound from these is great. The next door neighbour has just got one of these and likes to give it beans on the drive every now and then. It's certainly a car on the bucket list
  7. A register for all attendees has been set up here: CLICKY As this event is not a 100% discounted show (i.e. the tickets arent totally free this time) then we may as well extend the club discount to those wanting +1 tickets and order them all at the same time. So, if you are bringing a guest and would like a ticket at £12 instead of the gate price of £15 please denote this with a +1 on the register (linked above) All tickets for the Sunday will be £12 each. For each person/number on the list one car pass will be ordered - i.e so far 10 cars on stand. Tickets will be purchased based on the numbers on the register (linked above) Ideally we would wish to confirm the booking with the organisers by next Friday (24th), so if you think anyone else would be interested and has just missed the thread on the forum, please let them know This message will also be pm'd to those currently on the list above.
  8. Mmmmm. That Zonda is just That is an awsome garage - the DB5 is uber cool too!
  9. I find it quite remarkable that John Higgins got fined £75,000 for not fixing a match but just not reporting an attempted bribe. While a team the size of Ferrari in the multi billion £ sport that is Formula 1, is fined £60,000 for ACTUALLY fixing a race.
  10. Did you pay the sticker price when you bought it? If not and you got a chunk off it, who's to say that the next buyer wont get a chunk off this £15999.
  11. Id get one personal to yourself rather than the car if you are buying anything expensive. That way you can keep it for life and it doesnt look daft on whatever car you decide to have it on. Ever seen an X5 plate on a 3 series and chuckled?
  12. Unfortunetaly not. The stand would be set up on the Sunday rather than the whole weekend, as camping is only included with weekend tickets which are priced at £20 each. If there is enough interest in weekend tickets we can buy these via the club and perhaps have a stand both days, but if the numbers are low then we will have the stand Sunday only (but this would not stop people camping and attending on the saturday, its just we wouldnt have a club stand for the Saturday). Hope this makes sense
  13. Hi Guys - Yes we can have a club stand, this will be on the Sunday show day. Ive edited the first post - tickets will be cheaper with the club and you'll get your car in the show - so get polishing!
  14. Its Japshow Finale time, and yes, on Sunday 3rd of October we will have a club stand. http://www.japshow.co.uk/ Not only that but by attending with the club you get your car parked in the show AND the tickets are £3 each cheaper at only £12 for the Sunday. Get your name on the list below and secure your spot on our stand at the Japshow Finale! 1. Jak 2. Yokomo 3. Ian.lewkowicz 4. Roo 5. MadMarky 6. Mitch 7. Chesterfield 8. 9. 10.
  15. Do you think Tracy would notice if I swapped?
  16. If you can get him to provide you withthe VIN, the colour code is in there. Looks like gunmetal to me, but it could equally be blade just on a really dull day with a crap camera The codes you are looking for in the VIN are KY0 (blade) or WV2 (gunmetal)
  17. If one wheel of the driven axle loses traction some time before the other, that will cause all sorts of handling issues and certainly not do anything positive for being able to handle the car in adverse weather. If the driven axle is also the one on which the steering takes place, you are asking a lot of the tyres in the first place to provide drive and maintain latteral grip when changing steering angle. A tyre only has a finite ammount of "grip". This can be either all in the vertical plane and none in the horizontal, or all in the horizontal and none in the vertical. For every bit used in the horizontal plane, that same ammount is lost from the vertical. Now if you consider acceleration out of a corner, grip will be required in the vertical (acceleration) and will therefore be removed from the horzontal. If that total ammount of grip/traction required exceeds the ammount the tyre has to offer, then its going to give up the horizontal grip and the tyre will want to be in a slide. If the two tyres on that same axle perform in the same manner then you can simply alter the steering angle to regain latteral grip. If they behave differently, then in the event of a slip it will be much harder to control. Regardless of the power of a vehicle, the road surface and weather conditions can make any vehicle "too powerful" for the grip levels of a tyre. I did not know that it was illegal to mix tyres across an axle in NZ, but I am assuming they haven't taken this decision in order to protect the revenue of people like dunlop and michelin.
  18. With the winter soon to be upon us, I'd stick with ensuring at least both fronts are the same and in good condition, sports car or not. it may be a cheaper option to replace BOTH fronts with a cheaper brand of tyre, and keep the decent expensive one you have until you can afford to match that up with another of the same type
  19. I assume the car park was not full, and I also assume you didnt park the car there and journey onward in another vehicle. I will further assume you parked your Z out of the way probably to the far end of the car park to avoid any nasty door dings. So, you were not obstructing further vehicles from parking, you did not leave your car unattended while leaving the premises in another vehicle and you ensured your vehicle was parked in a manner to ensure maximum convenience to the facilities for all other users. Their reasoning for the imposition of the charges is therefore in my professional opinion, "shot to sh1t". I'd appeal it on the grounds that this particular infraction was made on the grounds of safety, and with no malicious intent to abuse the parking facilities. If they stick to their guns, then it is clear evidence that they value their revenue generation from car parks above the safety of the road users whom provide their custom. A letter stating as much should then be provided to the local police and MP (and the local rag for that area too). If I were going to lose £50 for this, then Id be damned sure someone ot the services got a hard time of it from the police and authorities along the way. If someone at CPP or whatever the car parking "company" is loses their job along the way, then so be it, they shouldnt be such pedantic w***ers.
  20. Write back stating you were following advice from VOSA and ensuring you exited the motorway at your earliest opportunity as you felt tired while driving. You did not wish to rejoin the carriageway until you were confident that you were alert enough to safely control a vehicle at 70mph. If they can provide a doctors certificate showing that you were fit enough after the 2 hour period you will accept the fine. Failing to dismiss the fine or provide medical evidence that you were alert enough within their acceptable time limits, will mean you will have to alert the police and road safety officals to their blatant disregard for road saftey, their encouragment of motorists to drive while not fit to do so and lobby for the services in question to be closed as their actions would constitue a serious road saftey issue. Then put it in the bin.
  21. Nope, but I spat my tea over my keyboard when I typed Mikes name in. http://www.google.co.uk/images?um=1&hl= ... =&gs_rfai=
  22. I think people may be confusing jumping with bumping. Bump start requires more than one person or some stuntman style actions if doing on your own. Jump requires two electrical leads.
  23. Yup - so many to choose from along the same vein, I just dropped upon this latest offering.
