  1. Im hoping they wear out 3 drill bits after finding gold and diamond seams
  2. It could be summed up like that yes. If Georgia and Puntland were dusters, Range is still underpinned at the current price by Texas alone more or less (though the price would undoubtedly take a dip for a while). Dusters on those two for RMP is very bad news for RMP - kiss goodbye to just about the lot if that happens. I also think Im right in saying however that the surveys that they have had done are by an organisation that hits commercially viable reserves around 80% of the time. So while it cant be given a true 80% COS, its still looking positive. Its all still a gamble though at the end of the day.
  3. Georgia and Puntland showing good signs would certainly help anyone who has a punt on RMP too.
  4. You know you can count me in for this Martin!
  5. Cayenne maybe the best for road performance in a 4x4 without going for the likes of something daft like a bowler. But by god its bloody ugly. Id get a lower engine spec 4x4 with a great deal of toys and still the luxury, then spend the left over on a weekend toy. RR Sport HSE starts at £55k with a derv engine, compare that to a Cayenne Turbo at £87k. For me Id go RRS and spend the leftover £32k on a 370Z or similar. I know thats using new prices, but the second hand market will be a similar story with smaller figures. If you are taking into account the very small difference on tax between these performance 4x4's and are balking at the tax just paid on the Z, then the fuel bill on any 4x4 with a big super/turbo charged petrol engine is just transferring a massive cost to the fuel bill rather than the tax bill - and Ill guess the tax bill may even go up too depending on age of the vehicle. My choice would be a Range Rover Sport (the gay one as some call it ) HSE, 3.0 TD engine, a few toys, in white with some not too big 20" rims on all weather tyres But Im biassed....
  6. Hands up who topped up a bit more when Range was 24 I took advantage of the lower prices recently to get those bought at 24 averaged down a bit. RMP listing on Aim has not appeared to have the desired affect either. And the ASX still seems to be lagging behind a little, or the price is consistently a bit higher on the AIM, which is very strange as there was no new issue. May have to look at just paying to convert them if that continues, as its a few hundred quid difference between the AIM and selling on the ASX which is annoying. Traded Solo a bit recently and made some beer money. Watched SOU, THR & ORE all take a dive - but hey, every dog has its day, and boy do I seem to be holding a couple of dogs right now
  7. A big thanks to Martin for this event. Yes the weather wasnt the greatest, but the friendly atmosphere and social aspect was fantastic! Had a brilliant weekend away - just what the doctor ordered, and to be able to have a look round some other cars and meet loads of new faces was brilliant. Thank you for buying the raffle tickets too! The sales from T-shirts, mugs and the raffle for a car raised some great money for the hospice which was great Im sure many of the newly purchased detailing products were put to good use on the Sunday before the lucky winners of the awards were announced. Choptop looked a bit precarious on the roof of the building for the charity wristband photo, which should look great. Derek managed to lock himself out of his car (but a nice man from the RAC got him back in), Martin managed to pass a breathalyser test (done just for fun, not for any real reason) after enough alcohol to put most on their back, Jane brought home baked cakes which were absolutely amazing, Max did his bob the builder bit keeping the toilets/showers in as best working order as he could, given the company had no support people over the weekend. Several showed massive dedication in travelling from well north of the border to attend, and those who braved the elements to camp deserve special recognition also - though I did see items like generators and heaters being packed away, so not quite Ranulph Fiennes level just yet - but certainly braver than many all the same Myself and Tracy really enjoyed the whole weekend, and will look forward to this event hopefully growing over time - heres to the next one
  8. In my opinion, as far as bad ideas go, this is as bad as a great big bag full of lots of little bad ideas.
  9. unused account now deleted - your ipad should require a log in now and not auto log in using the old account.
  10. I think I see the problem. Have you registered two accounts? one is maxiglasgow and the other maxi-glasgow (one with the hyphen, one without). Similar email addresses. Perhaps your Ipad is logging in with the account that appears less used (only 3 posts). If this is the case, we can remove the unused account.
  11. If you listen carefully you may be able to hear the worlds smallest violin playing. Nissan should either be able to supply these parts individually or be prepared to fork out the cost of the whole roof when part of it breaks. Not expect customers to accept warranty work thats barely worthy of a Blue Peter badge. Saying that, Ive had warranty work carried out on electrical issues for a car (not Nissan) completed with masking tape. So they will all try and cut corners. (I wasn't a happy bunny when I spotted that either )
  12. That sounds a bit fishy. Surely a broken part should either be replaced or repaired without any visual detrement. Getting inside a car to see heath robinson rivets on broken roof struts is not what I would consider acceptable at all. Then again I am a picky sod.
  13. Get that in writing. Given Nissans apparent lack of interest (and ability) in fixing anything remotely connected to the roof, nevermind individual dealerships, it sounds like you've just pulled off the swap of the century.
  14. Why does the roof look like its been stuck on as an after thought? surely the idea with a coupe is nice flowing lines? The back end of that roof looks like its been designed with a hacksaw and wood chisel.
  15. Ahh yes - of course, as soon as these claims start to dwindle away, the insurers will jump at the chance to reduce the high fees we have all got used to. Once this technology comes into force and is proven to start reducing these claims, its time to buy shares in the insurance companies I think.
  16. Needs more grunt and the back end evening up with another twin exit pipe. I can see insurers upping the glass excess for those too. However unlikely they are to break, in the event of a freak accident, a rear screen replacement is going to be stupid money.
  17. I think Ive had a crisis... Spent a "bit of time" today with Cookie modifying his original install to fit on my centre console. He probably wont mind me saying but he is a bit of a perfectionist (read: suffers from some form of OCD Im sure), one millimetre out and he's not happy and its undoing 20 minutes work to move something and put it back together again so its mm perfect. Sadly I had to get some final prep work done on a room in the house before plasterers arrive tomorrow, so I didnt get to see al the detailed work taking place first hand but I was there for quite a bit of the work, and the missus hasnt noticed we worked on the kitchen worktop and table, so neat isnt the word for how the work was carried out! Got the system up and running, connecte it to the home wifi network and transferred some files to the car and installed apps to it while sat on the drive! Oh as a self confessed gadget nerd, this is simply technology pornography as far as Im concerned. Ive got music, navigation with google maps sattelite view, video, radio, tv, the option to load tv series and whatever else from my home network, ODB2 so if I really want I can look at my coolant temperature or check for error codes, or if I really want, play Nintendo games with a wii remote while sat in the car if its p***ing down at a show. If we measure gadgets on entertainment/geek factor for the money, then Im struggling to find ANYTHING in my house that actually tops what Ive bought today Sorry I cant do a complete review of this, as I had to work up until going out for a meal tonight and only just got back - but I will do a review as soon as Ive had chance to sit and play with this for a few hours - and I will certainly be doing that! Thanks again cookie - simply brilliant. If anyone wants a look at Lakez - give me a shout
  18. Just seen this and seriously couldnt believe my eyes! Corny music, but Jesus wept - how low!
  19. Always knew you had the boy-racer in you when you weren't train spotting AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Its been six years since I last saw a yellow 355 replica driving round near me, and today it pulls up behind me in the petrol station. Id just taken delivery back of the 430 from its service, but guess what Id decided to take back to work and fill up on the way. The bloody shed Transit van. Ahhhh Feck. Was too gobsmacked to even take a photo.
  20. In my opinion insurance companies are now playing on this whole "insurance has gone up" fear. I have so far without fail secured a minimum £100 off each car Ive insured this year and the Van. I got the Fezza insurance down from £1400 to £1200 by shopping around. In fact if Id taken a "normal" policy from say admiral or the like Id have got it for £700 - but I opt for one which has no restrictions on where the car can be repaired etc on that car. Also worth mentioning that last year I mirrored 8 years NCB on the fezza and this year I took it out with just the 1 year in its own right. 350Z down by about £200 iirc and the Altea also down by about £100 or so and the Shed of a Transit Van also down by a couple of hundred quid. Only the Jag to go, which is actually being replaced before the insurance is due in September, so will be hard to make a comparison. My advice is shop around, if you dont like the price tell them you are shopping around. If they ask you to call them back if you find a better deal, then they haven't given you their best offer otherwise whats the point in you calling back. Businesses are trying to make a recovery, but some are trying to do it much faster than others by having stupidly high prices. It may work and they may boom, or they could fall on their arse. Try and find one who is growing steadily out of recession rather than trying to sprint and you will get a fair deal.
  21. A couple of the clips of a lad jumping a focus and jumping between buildings etc are of my brothers mate. He is now a stunt double for people such as Jason Statham and has worked on films such as Kick Ass. What a job
  22. MPG figures today are now starting to get distorted by technologies such as the stop/start engines that cut power at junctions etc. Also, IIRC the M5 type cars can be run on a leaner setting of something like 400bhp and you have to select the right mode to get the 550bhp mode. The fuel economy figures will be from the leanest setting no doubt too. With the price of fuel continually going up, Im guessing manufacturers will be using every trick in the book to get efficiency figures up now.
  23. It will never happen. Well, let me rephrase that, it will never be allowed to be proven its happening, or happened. Even if we are skating on the Thames. The ammount of money/taxes/finance/jobs/ecomomy now resting on the "fact" that human CO2 emmissions is whats controlling/increasing the temperature of the planet, dictates that any alternative simply cannot ever be allowed to be proven true. If it were, global financial chaos would ensue.
  24. Best site to buy from in my opinion is the DVLA themselves http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/ As previously said, they include the VAT and the assignment fee - so as soon as you get the paperwork through, you can go to the DVLA office and get it put on your car - no extra charges or hidden costs. Also, the DVLA site shows numbers that are available. Many other registration sites will either have prices much higher, or are selling marks that are currently assigned to vehicles, they then contact the owner of the plate and ask if they want to sell.
  25. Yep Im guilty of this too. Actually bought one when they were selling the 11 plates ready for when I get an 11 plate car to put it on (BA11 CAR). Little did I realise I'd be getting a new car so soon
