  1. Thanks for the replies - I wouldn't be so worried but it only started recently. Then again I bought it last February so we were coming out of the cold time then, maybe it's just seasonal... How much was your P3 at HD? I dealt with Jez many years ago so would be happy to trip it over there if the price is right.
  2. Hi all Wondering if anyone else has experienced this - recently my 07 GT (mileage 35800) has started making an odd medium-high pitch whine when driving sub 40mph on cold days. It's very noticeable and stops if I drop it out of gear (so its not tyre/brakes related), though does increase in pitch the faster the engine is revving (until about 4krpm where it becomes hard to hear). Doesn't tend to occur if the drivetrain is warm - indeed it goes away once the old girl is up to temp. I'm just about to put her in for a P3 including replacement brakes so hoping it wont be anything scary! Dave
  3. Renewal letter has just arrived for my 'Z - 2007 GT spec (UK) no modifications, we've gone from circa £800p.a to the frankly ball-tighteningly figure of £3360.70p.a. Apparently "premiums have gone up a lot in the last year" - no sh*t sherlock, how is everyone else doing on the insurance front? For reference I'm a 26 year old male, no convictions/previous claims/accidents and over 4 years NCB, living in London.
  4. Was just quoted £320 for a P1 + coolant service at Beadles Nissan SE9 1DH. Seems a bit steep! :O
  5. Lovely looking Z, very shiny! Parked in the Sales car park on Monday. I've just joined the group, hi
  6. BulletMagnet - is there a hack to provide an auxiliary input? (that isn't using a cassette adapter ) sparky350z - http://www.answerbag.co.uk/q_view/2281753 - it's not official or backed up by anything but surely people don't write lies for no reason. Not on the internet of all places, one of the most trusted mediums of the day!
  7. Hello I'm 3 days into ownership and steadily growing a list of things love and not-so-love about my 2007 313 Coupe. One big point I was missing from my previous bimmer was a lack of iPod integration - so I was pleased to read online that after 2006 the bose sound system is able to read mp3s from CDs, thus expanding my per-disc song count from about 12 to ~110+ Now before I start consuming the worlds CDR stockpiles, does anyone have any advice on how to best organise the songs to have sensible playback options? ie does the head unit recognise folders (if so, how do you skip/select between folders), or does it just scan for all files and cue them up in one big playlist? Any help appreciated Cheers, Dave
  8. Woot welcome - I had the pleasure of dealing with Jez when I owned my 200SX - top bloke and outstanding ECU work
  9. .....wow thanks, I did get the message - problem being I can't recall how many air intakes I spotted when I looked at the car. I'm getting engine bay pictures tomorrow as it turns out, but just wanted to ask the question
  10. Update about the car as I was unsure when the HR engine was introduced - was first registered on 30/07/2007. This is after the change right? Right?!
  11. Thanks all! Originally from just outside Edinburgh (technically Livingston... don't judge me) now living on the Isle of Dogs in London. The big smoke is decent but bad roads and SPECS increasingly everywhere! Is there much of a London group?

    306hp vs 313hp

Well that's cleared that up It has the bonnet bulge so 309bhp
  13. Hello As mentioned in my welcome thread here I'm new to these parts and will in mere days be picking up my 'Z. A curious discrepancy however in the performance figures, as my seller is convinced the car is 313hp (a number I've seen dotted around the place) however most "reputable" i.e. TV reviews / road tests and parkers figures show 306hp for the HR engine (which this is). So what's the real deal? Is there a 306hp HR and a 313hp HR? If it helps, the car is 2007 "GT" spec which, again, has the HR engine. Dave
  14. Hello So with my new job around the corner and the requirement to get rid of my old (more than 5 years old) car, very shortly I'll be the happy owner of a 350Z Wanted to introduce myself as a previous member of the SXOC which was a nice group to be a part of. My name's Dave, I'm 26 working "for the Internet" and originally from Scotland but now living in sunny London. The car I'm getting is a 2007 (HR engine), silver GT coupé with 21.5k miles and FSH. Very happy to find one with almost all my boxes ticked - the only thing is doesn't have is Sat Nav... ..with that in mind, has anyone had any experience of retro fitting the sat nav system into the cubby hole? Can it be done? Is it a big job? If anyone has any advice on things to do or look out for they'd be greatly received Cheers, Dave
