  1. The website for the Donnington show is: www.donnyshow.co.uk (its the ISTS show) Tickets are (as far as I can work out, as they seem to have changed since last time): £15 per adult if you pre book (gives access on both days) - Park your car outside the show ground on hard standing apparently. £35 per driver and £30 per passenger for weekend access onto a club stand, including camping, but you may not necessarily be camping near your car. Last time we attended, we had a stand for the cars, but took them out and either home or to a hotel each evening. At Donny, its more of a wander around and look at the other stands etc, look at retailers stands, and watch whatever is going round the track - they had some mad fool on a Jet powered quad bike, and there were supercars going round the track. The Wales drive is our club only, and is more of a social gathering of members for a nice pub lunch/carvery, a bask in the sunshine near the lake (fingers crossed) ample photo taking opportunities and some great driving time in the Z's around Wales. The convoy(s) of Z's get waves and almost paparazzi style attention from the locals. To this day the Wales Drive(s) remain the best days driving Ive ever had in the Z. My honest opinion - if I had to pick only one, it would be the Wales Drive. Each to their own though, the Donny Show is still fun, just different.

  3. If the tools that your breakdown people want to use are not the same as the AA one (the dynomec one) then they are likely to either try hammering on a smaller socket, or using the reverse threaded sockets. DONT let them near your wheels with these - They WILL make a mess of your alloy. You could try calling these guys: http://www.dynomec.co.uk/ and asking whether they know of a garage in your area that they may have sold one too. I know they had a deal with the AA, but the RAC went down the reverse threaded socket option instead. The easiest option is obviously a replacement key, and I would pursue that as much as possible first - but if you reach a stage where you are absolutley certain that you cant get hold of one, and you must resort to using some sort of hardware to get the nuts off - I wouldnt touch anything else other than this tool above. It cost me an 80 mile round trip and £20 to have mine done in about 2 minutes by one of the chaps that invented this tool.
  4. Hi, and Glad you like our community here - good luck on your test drive, hope it goes to your liking, though Im sure it will. Remember to post up pics if/when you get it - were biassed, so expect positive reviews
  5. Ive already thought as much - I dont know if the code exists, but with a whole bunch of other stuff to get sorted for the club ready for the upcoming season of shows etc, I think all of us on the team will have enough on our plate for now. If we get some spare time it may be something to look at as in principal it sounds quite positive.
  6. Just sent a PM Martin - Will pay by cheque if thats OK. 3 for me please.
  7. The perfect Z for me in 2007 is sat in my garage Just like the perfect Z for most others is sat on/in their drive/garage I bet. Looking forward to some great outings and meets with these perfect Z's in 2008
  8. I dont really think those wheels suit it to be honest. The way the shots are taken show it off well though. Still cant beleive the big chrome grill on the front is actually plastic.
  9. Looks like myself and Tracy left before things started to get very messy.... Phew.

Its different areas thats all. When I went to Birmingham at the weekend (great night out by the way), both myself and Tracy were aware that it did not feel at all like we expected the city would. It was a lot cleaner, the people on the whole seemed a lot more respectful. Items like large Christmas lights out on th street were undamaged etc.. Some of those Christmas decorations had they been in a city like Sheffield for example, or perhaps Nottngham, would have been strewn across the street within the first day of being put up. Park a nice car in some areas and you risk it being keyed by the mindless idiots that live there. Some areas seem to have a larger proportion of missing links than others. Id park a GTR in Chesterfield without much worry, but wouldn't leave it on the street in south Sheffield or Manor Top area, unless I wanted to come back to an empty space or a burnt out shell.
  11. You and Andy were knocking the Sambucas down quite rapidly at the time myself and Tracy left for the evening. If I had been taking bets on who would have fallen over first, it would have been on Sarnie or Andy It was a great night, thanks to those who arranged it. Myself and Tracy enjoyed the weekend thoroughly. The Christmas market, restaurant and pubs were all fun, although I think I would have died of thirst if it had taken any longer to get server in All Bar One. Heres to the next night out
  12. Good idea - you have PM. As does louis, Liam and Little miss.

But wont the registration, shipping and other associated fees involved in having an official UK car are a lot cheaper for Nissan themselves than an importer? so the UK price from Nissan should be cheaper than the estimated £70k. Indeed if they want to tempt the masses from the German metal, it simply has to be less than that figure. I may get flamed for this, but in my opinion the Nissan badge and a price tag of £70,000 do not go hand in hand, and would certainly not sound appealing to me. £55k or thereabouts for a car with these performance credentials will probably see me putting an order in, but £70k and my money will probably be going elsewhere.
  14. The following may be of use - from the service manual: BASE SYSTEM Refer to Owner's Manual for audio system operating instructions. Perhaps there is an option to change the language within the system? So that English speakers living in Japan can have the car with the correct language. Similarly perhaps some UK owners would want the system to display in Japanese or German or French etc etc.. The Radio bands however may well be restricted to the country of origin, and some of the plastic buttons may still have the country of origins wording on - like the four buttons in th pic that have japanese writing on them.
  17. Taken from the BBC: Isn't this the top and bottom of why he just couldn't get along at Mclaren? If Im not No.1 in the team then Im not playing... I actually look forward to Mclaren and/or Ferrari running away with the championship next season if for no other reason than to see that spoilt mardy arse spend the season watching other people take the podium.
  18. Sounds very much like an attempt at a car jacking to me. The Zafira would have probably been stolen anyway, even if you had obtained the number. I think you absolutely did the right thing by continuing to drive on. Must have been a pretty scary experience

Of course. You wont be driving off the forecourt unless the money is in their bank.

When we bought the two Seats we paid the balance on the day of collection. The funds have to show in the dealers account as cleared before they will release the car/s though, so we had to do a same day transfer from our account to theirs. I cant remember entirely but I think that we did the same when we collected the Z from Nissan in Chesterfeld, and paid the balance on a debit card the day of collection. That one was a 6 month old car, so not "new" in the strictst of terms.

Looking at the early part of the video it certainly shows some indication of how rapidly the car accelerates too... Its sitting at around 44kmh or 27mph. When it accelerates, it hits 110kmh or just under 70mph in around 1.5 - 2 seconds by my clock. Thats shifting a bit isn't it Edit to add: Acceleration video found here: http://www.dailymotion.com/tag/new/vide ... -rock_auto
  22. Hi and welcome to the site Hope you enjoy it We used to have a roadster, and we found the space more than ample. Granted you couldnt do a family shop in it, but it does have a tardis when you are in desperate need of space. At a JAE meet we managed to get in ours: 2x folding chairs 1x folding Table 2x sleeping bags 2x days food 2x fleeces 2x changes of clothes 1x 5 berth full height tent 1x 3m x3m gazebo 1x folder of club paraphenalia 1x paper guillotene 1x Disclock steering wheel lock 1x 3m club banner and poles and other various items such as cameras, bags, shoes etc.. It is surprising, but you wouldnt want to rely on it for transporting many large/bulky items if it was your only car. The above was possible using the tardis. Thats where you press the button to retract the roof, stop halfway where you can access the void (where the roof is about to go), stuff it full of soft squashy items (fleeces/tents/sleeping bags) and then put the roof back up. I would very much be of the opinion that this will void the warranty if you bugger the roof up doing that, and it certainly isnt in the manual, but when needs must - it works.
