  1. Same for me Liam. The info being conveyed to the UK at the moment is not impressing me as much as I had hoped. Everythin being announced about the colours and options now is just one anti climax after another. No reversing cam option in the UK, sat nav delaying the car by 6 months, no red interior bits on a red car etc.. Its all a bit wooly for my liking right now.
  2. Mike: after all the hype about Nissan taking humbridge over imports it seems strange one of the nominated garages has one to show off - a year or so in advance of the official sales here? Very strange indeed. Middlehurst have two. The other is in Geneva.... on a Nissan stand. I dont think there is a great deal of truth to imports being the work of the devil according to NMGB. There were certainly a steady stream of people coming to see the car today, and Im fairly certain that a fair few were parting with deposit money too.
  3. I was doing the salesmans job on the missus on the way home I do like the red, but am to put it mildly, a bit confused as to why the UK combinations do not allow for the black leather with red detail to be put in the red car! Apparently details so far are that the "black edition" (one above premium) has the smoked wheels and the red detail in some of the leather, and is only available in black or silver. So you couldnt have white with smoked wheels and the black/red leather. More finite details will be available after the dealers start returning from their trips to Geneva this week. Chris at Middlehurst was a very friendly chap, and had time to chat avout various aspects of the car, and what he knew of other details so far.
  4. Ill see if I can swing by and have a look, but I have to confess of never hearing of them - however Im the sort of modder who has a set of redstuff pads sat on the workbench that have been waiting to be fitted for getting on a year.

  6. I would tell them where to shove it. You have paid for the offence once, so cannot be done twice. You have evidence to show you paid the fine and as such cannot be expected to bay both fines for the same offence. If they are not willing to back down, then write a letter to your MP. Sounds daft, but they have to respond if a contituent writes to them. State you wish one of the fines to be quashed or you will report the matter as fraudulent behaviour by a council approved parking authority. Which charging twice for the same penalty is. Should be enough to put the willies up whatever jumped up burger flipper is dealing with the parking fines.
  7. Even if it fits like a glove there is still the possibility of wind buffeting the fabric around slightly and rubbing the car. If there is any grit on the car when you cover it, all it will take is a bit of buffeting overnight and that bit of grit gets rubbed around even if the fabric itself is nice and soft. Maybe its me being over cautious but a car cover with the vehicle outside just doesnt appeal to me at all.
  8. Another -1 on the car cover. Ive seen eaxmples of when car covers have been blown around rubbing on the bodywork and its scuffed the paint something awful. Not being able to fit the car in is a pain, I know I measured the width of the garage before buying the Z, it fits in with the mirrors opened, with only 10/15mm each side of the mirrors - once inside you can open the doors of both cars towards each other and they wont touch! but the doors are tight. The width of your garage opening must be ridiculously small if it wont fit with the mirrors folded in. New builds are a joke for garage space though, no doubt down to some pathetic regulation that has been introduced I guess. The missus has now been looking on house sites for another one to move to, and measuring the garage doors is on the list of any that we look at.
  9. Maybe £900 now. I paid that for a set with only 1K miles usage when they were still an option rather than standard fit.
  10. I reckon your mate just has the punctuation in the wrong place.

  12. The Z was Mrs Chesterfields daily drive for 2 years.
  13. I cant think of a better way for a "newbie" to join in the fun with the club than to come along to a meet, and what a meet the Wales drives are.
  14. Having seen Criags work at a photoshoot, I'll second the above. Very reasonable prices for a full detail and he certainly makes a thorough job from what Ive seen. Im hoping to find a location and get him booked myself prior to show season. You can find shots of Craigs work along with others on the detailing world website
  15. Can we start to contribute to a list, it will help us keep John updated on numbers etc. No.....Name......................Dates 1.....StephenG...................30/31 2.....AndyC........................30/31

In my last job, I covered "The North" and that included Birmingham. On that basis, Oxford is very much the midlands! I wouldn;t ordinarily class it as the midlands but its about as close as I could get when I was looking how they had spread them out. Aye, but Ill bet that the company was possibly run by the likes of folk that get a nosebleed if they drive further north than Watford Gap. I still think Id take the GTR to a specialist. Probably Nobles here in Chesterfield if I get one.
  17. Bah - get your name down on a GTR, no problem then.

How can Oxford be classed as the Midlands? Do you have to take your car to one of these garages for it to be serviced?
  19. Hi and welcome! I know your pain with the private plate and trading in. I had to make 2 x 500mile round trips for the very same reason In future the plate will be on retention well before trading in.
  20. Porsche have had a stake in VW for years, and been growing their stake in VW for years, so its not that bigger jump to find the last bit of cash (although its still fairly large compared to their annual turnover).
  21. hello stranger! What a silly boy. Did you not read the small print? School runs and motorways only you know!
  22. Porsche set to buy/control VW (and all its subsiduaries).......... again... http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/b ... 479366.ece
  23. first post updated with announcement from John.
