  2. Looking at my oem skirts in the garage, thy have plastic plugs built into the side that pop into holes located along the sill of the car under the door. My Greddy ones had holes which lined up with these holes in the sill and plastic plugs to pop into place, the body shop felt that these plugs were a bit naff and not really up to the job, so they fabricated some small chromed head bolts to hold them on.

  7. Just caught up with this thread, and although I hold no legal qualifications - this is my personal opinion. You bought the car and it has a warranty. Nissan would appear to have accepted responsibility for the faulty roof in the first instance by having it repaired. This repair is now deemed (and agreed by the offer of replacement) to be substandard and a replacement roof is now needed. It would be my opinion that Nissan can not now reverse this acceptance of responsibility due to any actions you may or may not take with the car in the future. A warranty can be voided by misuse or abuse of an item and can not be withdrawn just because the owner may be considering selling the item/vehicle. It is my opinion that in any persuant legal action, you would have a very strong case.
  8. Clean it the night before, wrap in cling film, drive to services and unwrap in the morning Note: dont do this, melted clingfilm is awful stuff to get off.

    GT-R

Agreed - after speaking to the chaps there and gaining an insight into their services and history, they would be my choice if I ordered one.
  10. Wow - all the materials I need to build my own safe hydrogen fuel cell in my local B&Q. Who'd have thought it! Ill get right on it. If you here a large boom and ploom of smoke eminating from the Chesterfield area, Ill be on to my second attempt the following day. And all that Hydrogen gas seperation from the power of just my 12V car battery! With such a powerfull electric device under the bonnet perhpas I could just run it on electric motors. Ill have one running on banana skins and household rubbish by the end of the week - Ill call it a "Flux Capacitor". Sounds kind of catchy.
  11. While that will certainly reduce spam by a large amount, it brings with it some very difficult situations which some ISP's fail to recognise. A lot of small businesses, forums, private individuals etc may have their own domain, but not necesarily exclusivity over the IP address. To cut a story short, this does result in a lot of small businesses, organistaions or indeed forums being unable to converse with customers or members that are with an ISP that uses reverse DNS without providing any option for their customers to turn off the action for selected sender addresses.
  12. My guess would be the exhaust too, they seem to be quite low on the Altea considering the height of the bodywork. Though there is a plastic tray/lining on the underside of the engine bay which may also be quite low.
  13. I have a Seat Altea as well as the Z. The FR model of the Altea that I have is slightly lower than the other variants, but if the Seat catches, you WILL have issues with the Z without question, as the Seat is positively an off roader when compared to the Z. If the Seat rubs slightly on any component, then on the same spot the Z will stuff its skirts into the floor I reckon. Id probably look at lowering the "peak" of the drive by 6 inch or so to be safe.
  14. Hi and Welcome Hope you enjoy the community we have here
  15. The golf I used to own had a third very small sun visor that flipped out specially to fit that gap
  16. Kevin, do you know how much weight this saves over the standard hatch?

  18. Nothing surprises me anymore in this "war on speeding" (slash ever inventive ways of keeping the revenue stream up). How long before we see the wheelie bins with cameras in that some countries have? Suggest the lead cars in wales just stick to the limit and we have no overtaking. If we spot the lovely horse box, drive past like miss daisy and give it a wave.
  19. Lets not get carried away.
  20. Wheres this open market? Sounds like I could get a bargain
  21. Yup the weight is an issue - Im stuck on doing it with a Z though, as its doing it in the 350 and as part of this club that makes it appealing for me. Im sure that there are other cars that would give me probably more excitement on the track and less issues to work round, not least of which is the towing weight. The Kia Sorento (aparently towing car of the year at some point or other) can tow up to 2.6 tons. The trailers Im looking at are in the region of 500kg, and the Z at say 1600kg will be fine. The Sorento is an oil burner, still not great on fuel I imagine when towing that kind of weight, but not to worry - thats all part of having fun. Ive never driven a track day before (other than a couple of laps round nurburgring but not at any pace), never attempted to turn a standard car into something which may be more fun on the track either. If I dont jump in at the deep end Ill never do it. We are looking at other houses which will have ample garage space, but for the time being I either have a space at the side of my house, or at a relatives who doesnt drive anymore. Its just something I have always wanted to do, so may as well stop thinking about it and just get on and do it. Whats the worst that can happen ?
  22. Im sure members will be quite able to have a play every now and then. First issue to overcome is that the Altea FR is type approved to tow, but only 1400kg. Hmm. With a box trailer coming in at anything up to 500kg, that leaves only 900kg. a lighter open trailer at say 300kg would only leave 1100kg. Thats some serious diet requirements for a 350z. Perhaps the first stage will be swapping the company hack for something with a little more towing ability. Although I do have access to a Kia Sorento with a towbar in oredr to fetch a car in the meanwhile if I buy the trailer.
  23. Well if Im going to have a track toy, and I enjoy the 350z and would like to take it along to the shows that the club attend, it just makes sense for me to get a 350z. Would love to have it painted and stickered up for the club too
  24. Ive been doing some thinking and really need to start at the beginning! i.e. I need to get a towbar fitted to the Altea first. Then buy a car trailer (thinking of a box trailer so it can double as a 350z-uk.com burger van at shows ) Then I can look at the cars as I will be able to fetch one Going for towbar fitting quotes tomorrow
