  1. Megs Endurance Gel is very good ... but by far and away the best is Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel ... http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... heels.html Bradders
  2. After a year of T350 ownership I would say two things: 1) Yep, they can be as problematic as the rumours suggest, but... 2) If you go into ownership with your eyes wide open, and are prepared for the occasional trip back to the dealers, you can forgive them their faults, again and again, the second you sit in it! In the time I had mine, I had senders replaced (oil temp, water temp, speedo) ... very common problem and a quick / cheap fix. Head gasket went (about a week after I bought it), luckily this was covered under warranty, and then finally the half-time bearing went causing near fatal engine damage - luckily it was diagnosed in time to prevent complete engine faiure, which was imminent! There were a couple of other things too with window electrics etc. As stated above, these cars actually like to be driven and it's the regularly used cars that seem to be most reliable. Unfortunately mine only came out of the garage every other weekend, and seemed to mysteriously develop faults in the meantime. Would I return to TVR ownership? Almost definitely yes - I too have a hankering for a Sagaris, and my experience to date has only heightened that.
  3. I'd be reluctant to use any microfibre or drying towel that had a 'tag' on it as with the ultra-soft Nissan paint there's an increased risk of inflicting swirls
  4. Just waiting on a delivery of 303 Aerospace Protectant before I can do the grill and other exterior plastics With regard to the polishing and "anorexic" paint, will be tackling this with Lake Country polishing pads (moving to light cut pads only if required), and on the advice of Rich at PolishedBliss old school Menzerna polishes (Intensive / Final Finish II) to keep the level of 'cut' relatively low and ensure the risk of marring is minimised. Chris - I went to the Reading Jap meet a couple of years ago (when I had an Impreza P1) ... might pop-along again some time.
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome guys! It was hard to part with the Tiv, but the fact the engine was separate from the rest of the car at the time (again!), made it a little more bearable. Had the Tiv for just over a year and loved every minute of it... the looks, sound, and the positive responses it provoked from other road users were all great ... had various faults but i'd gone into ownership with my eyes wide open so these weren't at all unexpected. But in the end, it was hardly getting used and wasn't ideally suited to what I need a car for (i.e. trips to the shops and motorway miles to clients / family). The Z is a far more practical and useable car, but this doesn't make it at all dull. Whilst it doesn't have the same 'sense of occasion' as driving the Tiv, it's quick, nice looking and ultimately suits my needs. As I said originally, I was expecting a tinge of disappointment when a swapped cars, but on the contrary i'm really taken with the Z and spend as much time making up spurious reasons to go to the garage as I did when I had the Tiv
  6. Thanks for the welcome guys The finish has got some of its depth and reflectivity back, but is still quite badly swirled. Think the previous owner must've cleaned it with a brillo pad. That should be rectified as soon as I get the Megs G220 and attack it with Menzerna Intensive / Final Finish polishes - as it's too big a task to tackle by hand. Heard 'Z's have notoriously soft paint so gonna have to be fairly cautious though but confident of 90%+ correction
  7. ... just wanted to introduce myself after lurking for a couple of weeks. Recently changed my T350C ... ... for a 350Z (GT4 - No. 6 of 176) ... I'm really surprised how taken I am with the 'Z' ... it's a great all round package. Looks like a great forum... looking forward to being a more active member! Cheers Bradders
  8. Hi all ... recently changed my TVR T30C for a Nissan 350Z (Gt4 No.6), and decided to test my Jeffs Acrylic kit on it, partly to use it up (it will be replaced in time with Blackfire gear, which I understand is better suited to the colour) and also to keep it looking the best possible prior to the arrival of a Megs G220 dual action polisher and a full correctional detail. Had always been happy with the Jeffs kit in the past ... But the 'Z' was in a poor state, looking dull and lifeless ... ... and in some places simply filthy :doublesho ... It clearly hadn't seen any wax / sealant for some time. So I set to work ... Wash - Rinsed, washed using Megs Gold Class shampoo and Megs Lambswool mitt. Hosed with an open-ended hose, dried with a Poorboys Waffle Weave towel and spritz of Jeffs Acrylic Gloss. Arches cleaned using P21S and Megs Microfibre mitt. Clayed with Megs Quik Clay / Detailer and dried with fresh PB Waffle Weave towel. Wheels and tyres - Washed using Menz Wheel & Tyre gel, agitated with Megs Wheel Brush and Microfibre mitt. Tyres dressed with Blackfire long-lasting tyre Gel. Bodywork protected with Jeffs Prime - applied with a german applicator and buffed with a Poorboys Super Thick & Plush towel. Jeffs Jett Trigger applied / buffed with Poorboys Deluxe Mega towels. Exhaust polished with Megs All Metal Polysh. The results ... The interior trim was wiped with a damp microfibre, carpets hoovered and seats treated with Poorboys leather stuff. Any thoughts, feedback or suggestions gratefully received. Have to add a huge thanks to Rich @ www.PolishedBliss.co.uk, whose advice (and products!!) have been invaluable Now i'd best go and formally introduce myself to the forum!!
