qmant123 started following Steering Wheel Radio Control Buttons

For the steering wheel buttons on volume up/down, source, and the phone/talk, are they just sending a constant 12v signal to the end of the wire harness, or is it different electrical pulses that the radio then interprets for volume, source, and phone/talk?

So today's job was to give the interior door handles and vent surrounds a lick of satin black paint as they were looking very scratched up. A couple of hours of a job, right? I'm not sure if this is the factory Nissan stuff or someone has used a plastidip type product in the past but it was absolutely awful to try and remove. I tried some light solvents, sanding (which just immediately clogged the paper) then ended up using a plastic razor blade to scrape it. It was like trying to remove wax crayon! The driver's side handle was inconsistent and sections were absolutely rock solid, hampering things further. I'm sure a more experienced Zed owner will know the secret sauce to getting this stuff off 👀 In my inexperience, I thought the white colour was down to bare plastic - it turned out to be a primer which only on the drivers side, reacted with the adhesion promoter or primer I had used. So, back to square one but this time scraping wrinkled primer off. I got there in the end and whilst it's a massive improvement on how it looked previously, I'll probably be redoing this to get a neater finish. Before: Paint (crayon?) removal: Completed passenger side: Completed driver's side:

I know this is an old thread, anyone else running these wheels? I would be interested in knowing tyre sizes and what springs / coilovers you’re running thanks in advance

The induction noise when installed will be fantastic Andy

Andy. Try finishing with the blue or pink compound if you haven’t already and I highly recommend Mothers

As you can see the difference between polish and the casting. Takes quite a bit of time to get a shine on it .
-
I have received a large parcel from Australia full of shiny new stuff. I'm going to polish up the aluminium intake casting. In the next few weeks months but I have started working on them.

Hi Everyone, I'm quite new to this forum so please go easy on me if i'm asking a stupid question. I've recently broken a 2006 Convertible with 41k genuine miles and put the rev up Engine, cd0009 gearbox, steering, clocks & door panels etc in my old sunset coupe and i still have the low mileage diff sitting here but alas without any driveshafts, which i would guess are pull out as opposed to bolted. From looking on here and the internet i think the 41k diff is mechanical (Breaker was an 06 UK GT ) and my diff i'm guessing is viscous being an 04 UK GT. My original diff has no leaks, makes no noise and locks up fine but needs new bushes whereas the 06 is far lower mileage and the bushes are like new. . If i'm right above i'm reluctant to swap it out as a: i'm guessing my shafts won't fit and b: i fitted a thorsen diff which i believe is like the mechanical one on my old E30 24 valve and i definately preffered my original clutched LSD on that as the Thorsen only worked when both sides had grip and tried to kill me when i fitted it so i swapped back to the Clutched one on that . Does anyone with a bit more experience of the Z's know if i'm correct in the assumptions i'm making above and if i am missing something please ? Car is mostly used for fast road driving as opposed to track or drifting. Many Thanks Ian

The propshaft is carbon fibre. My brother was telling me his Quadrifoglio had a carbon fibre propshaft. I couldn't resist mentioning that so has my 20 year old 350Z.

Approved for now but please include a photo with you username on a bit of paper. -
I'm an idiot and ordered 2 sets (thought it was 1 set per wheel) By the time I came to put them on and realised, returns were shut. Brought from Horsham but they were delivered direct from EBC (happy to share receipt). Fronts £100 Rears £75 £165 for the pair.

OEM pre-owned fully working motors are in stock, however the eBay ones work as I have used them in the shop on numerous occasions.
-
@ZMANALEX can probably help with this - it's not an uncommon issue.
