Traction control

Hey guys

I've been loving my 2009 Z, had it for about 6 months now. There's one thing that I find quite strange and I'm not sure why this is so.

When I drive the Z with traction control on, which is most of the time, the car feels fine. When I turn off traction control the car literally feels like a different animal all together - the gear changes seem smoother, the car seems to accelerate a bit quicker and general responsiveness seems to improve quite a bit. Granted it also tries to kill me in corners but other than its a very different driving experience.

Does anybody else find this? I thought the whole point of TC was simply to detect when the wheels are starting to slip, cutting power before you end up backwards in a hedge somewhere. Is it doing something else too?

Cheers! :)
