Renegade Posted December 27, 2014 Share Posted December 27, 2014 I bought a rear alloy from ebay so I could get my rear wheel painted as it is getting the usual bubbles. The advert stated. Alloy is without any buckles. I have already requested a return What do you guys think is it bent ? I have never seen a 350 rear damaged before. StevoD Posted December 27, 2014 Share Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) advert might be right thats not buckled it dented hard to tell from pictures If its buckled its got a dent as below ie flat spot bent inwards or i would bet 80% of 350z wheels would be similar to yours hence why all wheels end up with weights as the wheels do naturally deform on the road , only way around it is buy a new one, also the two measure tape pictures might be the angle taken from but looks like the tapes held at different angles which will make it more different than it is take it to a garage and see how many weights it would take to run true can you get a picture from infront and behind the face like the image above Edited December 27, 2014 by StevoD 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not sure that would add half an inch tho that what i thought but when you look at the white stuff on the alloy the tapes been moved maybe 10-20mm up between photos if there an extra inch there over 10-20mm would stand out like a sore thumb that doesnt well not to me Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Renegade Posted December 27, 2014 Author Share Posted December 27, 2014 I used the tape as a guide,over an area of around 200mm there is a 5mm narrowing. If you look at the outer and inner lip beneath the tape you can see it closing in. Plus the outer lip that usually gets scraped has been hammered and filed flat, and is very uneven. Whatever words were used to describe it the intention was to give the impression that there is nothing wrong with the wheel which is not correct. Get it returned mate. Usual thing of ebay is that half the people selling stuff don't know what they are selling, They could`nt tell a good one from a bad one. Keyser Posted December 27, 2014 Share Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) I think the issue is the difference between bent and buckled - as in the pic above (StevoD post) that is buckled yours appears to have a "bent" rim - heavy curbing will do that and you can argue therefore that the rim is buckled so you could certainly ask to return it and see what happens. The other side to it is that a buckled wheel is hard if not impossible to repair a "bent/buckled" rim can usually be repaired quite easily by most wheel specialists, although as said above a lot of wheels are like this will still take a tyre and hold air and can be balanced so if it is not noticeable with a tyre on could be used as is.
