NeilMH
On reflection this seems a pretty bizarre list but here it is anyway (in alpha order - it would take me too long to work out chronological): Austin A35 (The car I had when I met my wife - but it didn’t put her off) Alfasud Ti ‘S’ Alfa 145 QV Austin Mini 1000 Red (bought as a wreck to practice DIY skills on) Austin Mini 1000 Lime Green BMW 525E 2.7 Auto Caterham Supersprint Caterham Supersport Citroen 2 CV 602cc Fiat Uno (Fire) - a trifle flimsy Fiat Punto Hillman Hunter Super Auto Hillman Minx Series 3 (Bench seat, column change, failed MOT spectacularly) Jaguar XK8 4.0 Coupe (Still have it) Lotus Elise S1 Nissan Micra Colette (went to my sister) Morris Minor (Split windscreen) Morris Marina 1700L (don’t go round a corner and hit a bump at the same time) Nissan 350Z Roadster Nissan QX Red 3.0 Auto Nissan QX 2.0 Manual Nissan QX Grey 3.0 Auto Peugeot 304 Peugeot 309 Gti (Gp N) Rover 213S Rover 216Gti Twin Cam (Honda Engine - better than it sounds) Rover 412 Standard 8 (bought for £10) Standard 10 (first car) 89 Toyota Corolla Liftback 1.3 auto (12V) 92 Toyota Corolla Liftback 1.3 Gli auto (16V) - bought new and still have it 93 Toyota Corolla Liftback 1.3 Gli auto (16V) Grey 94 Toyota Corolla Liftback 1.9 Diesel Manual (went to my son-in-law) 93 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Liftback Executive Auto - still have it Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 Cdti (150) auto - sold after 1 week! VW Polo 1.0 (the useless brakes type) VW Polo 1.3 Genesis Coupe! (no connection between it and road) VW Jetta, 1.3C (Massive gap between gear ratios 2 and 3) Westfield 1700 X-Flow Sei (first sevenesque foray so loved for that)

mikejbry
Cars 1993 Rover Metro 1.1s - I know epic first car....was a pile of horse @*!# but I loved it 1995 Bmw 325 coupe 2000 Ford Mondeo 2l 1998 Mitsubishi Galant 2.5l v6 2000 Lexus is200 2000 Bmw 540i sport 2007 Nissan 350z Bikes 2001 Honda cbr600f sport 2003 zx6r b1h 1993 cb250 2005 zx10r - sold 8 weeks ago, sort of regretting it now 1999 zx7r - owned for near 5 years and still have it Not exactly sports car history, on the whole, car wise, the nissan 350z is the fastest car I have owned, though the 540i isnt far behind. But to be honest I have long concluded that it will take a bloody fast motor to impress me being used to bikes. The zx10r is a missile and anything short of a nissan gtr will probably fail to give me the same rush.

Official figures for my zx9r were 0-136mph In 10.36 seconds. Got very close to those figures with my last rx7, but just totally unuseable on the road! rabbitstew
^^^ nice collection, love the R5T driven a couple that belonged to friends back in the day lots of fun but unfortunately never owned one (yet) Yeah they are pretty mental cars. They weigh next to nothing and its pretty easy to get 200bhp out of them. I remember back in about 2000 I test drove a S1 Elise and was staggered at how slow and sluggish it was. I then realised my 5 GTT had about twice the power to weight ratio to it so no wonder the Elise felt slow! Ive just started getting mine back on the road, as its been sitting in my garage for about 10 years as ive not had the time to work on it due to being distracted with my other projects. Ive set up a blog on it if you want to check it out.. http://www.turbonutter.co.uk Miss bikes everday, but would never want to ride on the road these days I dunno, I think its all down to how you ride really. I shudder when I think of the ridiculous stuff me & my mates would do on the roads. Now when we go out we are much more sensible and take a lot less risks. I still see some right idiots though thinking they are rossi and every now and then i`ll have a play with them and show them up, but in the main I try to stay away from people like that. And, as with most old cars, what you think will be a simple quick job turns into one thing after another as you start poking about under the car. For example, whilst doing the wishbones I realised the jacking points were shot, then whilst doing the jacking points I realised the sills were rotted, then after doing them I now can see that the brake lines need doing...and so on... Ive actually now ordered so many bits that it will end up being a new car I think by the time im finished!

Very true, but if i owned something nice again, the temptation is always there and much as i love the concept of just cruising on a Harley/Buell/Chopper etc there seems even less point on our crappy roads and weather. A few mates green lane which i like the idea of, except you have to use roads and cant help but think i would probably get out like once a month at best. Thought about a track bike, but then think, need a van to transport it etc Sadly man maths actually steers me in the other direction and points me back to getting a jetski again, at least the water is a little softer if you come off and you getting wet so doesnt really matter about the weather Edited July 2, 2014 by Jetpilot

dpbayly
I know I'm a night mare it drives my wife nuts mainly because I cant buy a car and drive it I have to play with it and spend time and money on them but I have to say I nearly always make on my purchases even after spending money on them because I normally buy at the lowest values make it mechanically spot on then make them mint body wise and then get board and move on to the next project. It so handy having my garage workshop with all the ramps and equipment and the spray shop with the booth to use when ever I need because saves me an absolute fortune
