GMballistic Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 ^^ Good to get different opinions on films from people who aren't biased unlike some of the reviewers in papers etc who rave about a film, so you go to see it, only to find out it's utter cr*p. Definitely everybody has different tastes though for sure. 1 Quote
Kev T Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I can thoroughly recommend ' 12 Years a Slave' completely mesmerising performances and a very harrowing story. Quote
Stu_2424 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Loved Rush also, great film very well told with some good acting. Quote
chirag1988 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Just watched Elysium. Meh. My sister enjoyed it but I will bought it was mediocre. +1 was ok but expected more from it Quote
Daveyboy11 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I watched Wolf of Wall Street when it came out and have watching it again since, it's up there with my favourite films it was incredible!! Watched 12 years a slave recently too and really didn't rate it, it was boring. Quote
sipar69 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Sightseers A very unusual British made Black Comedy. If you only like big budget action films etc you'll hate it. If you are open to quirky films as well as more mainstream stuff....defo recommended. Edited February 1, 2014 by sipar69 Quote
Paddy78 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I know it's not exactly new and I haven't just seen it... although it was on TV recently... but anyone who hasn't seen Heat (And LA Takedown for that matter) needs to immediately! 1 Quote

"Heat" is a good film I agree and has some great actors in it ~ Pacino, Kilmer. Haven't seen it in years though. Watched "Django Unchained" on DVD not so long ago and that's a must see film imo if you haven't watched it. 1 Quote
d95gas Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Thanks for this thread guys........Just watched "Rush" and have to say its an awesome film, I remember the race when it happend and it was god aweful, but those were the days when they were driving timebombs waiting to go off......non of the safety of today. Both guys are lengends of their day.....a must watch film. Edited February 1, 2014 by d95gas Quote
ioneabee Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Anchorman 2 .................. - a couple of scenes were "amusing" - 1hr 58mins too long Quote
Madmarky Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 About Time is the best film ive seen recently. Its a bit of a rom com but the story is amazing and the acting is brilliant considering the main character is a unknown. Definatley one to watch with the wives and girlfriends. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2194499/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Quote
coldel Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Rush was brilliant. Watched Elysium, average at best. Was so excited to watch Worlds End, and so disappointed. Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I must be in the minority but I really liked American Hustle, really liked Silver Linings Playbook too ( same director ). Just watched The Heat with that funny fat chick and Sandra Bullock which was quite amusing. Rush is on my watch list Quote
coldel Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Oh my god, Silver Linings Playbook - so predictable I really hated it haha - I had erased that experience from my memory I am actually liking the new Star Trek films, I know they upset long time trekkies but they are great value entertainment! Wasn't expecting much but tbh I found it a funny film and my Mrs liked it too. Definitely worth a watch and good seeing two leading ladies in a film for a change. Ok, so just spent the last few hours watching "The Wolf of Wall Street" ~ very entertaining and an interesting film (lot's of sex, drugs & naked women). Didn't need to be so long but that's my only real criticism. Edited February 1, 2014 by GMballistic Quote
coldel Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Oh and 'Man of Steel' was also a let down! Quote
