maddog1982 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I don't have a grotty wheel, but pm sent As for the steering wheel it's easy. Just make sure you disconnect battery before hand Yeah or the air bag will go off I assume?! Quote
HARMLU Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Shouldn't do, but as a precaution I would definitely disconnect it! 1 Quote

Fluke Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I've been trying to contact Jack all week via his web site and by email. Does anybody know if he has gone away? Quote
Tinyflier Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Hope not as I am heading his way on Saturday for my new wheel! David Quote
zzzzz Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Just called Jack, he had prepared a black stitch with perforated sides, he's fitting it tomorrow morning - excellent ! Quote
Tinyflier Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Me too! I've gone for double (4mm) padding, perforated side, smooth top bottom and black stitching. Aiming to be there around 10! David Edited January 24, 2014 by Tinyflier Quote
Tinyflier Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Back home from a successful trip to Jacks (who has a garage STACKED with steering wheels!). Fitting all went well - same spec as others (perforated sides, smooth top/bottom, black stitching) BUT I had chosen +4mm rather than the standard +2mm. If you have small hands you might find it too thick - but I love the chunky padded feel - def improves the driving experience. David David 1 Quote

Tinyflier Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 There were some superb examples of Jack's work in his garage. BMW wheel with two tone MPower stitching, wheels with alcantara, wheels with part alcantara/part leather. If you can think of I suspect Jack can make it - the quality of his workmanship is superb and he is a jolly nice chap too! Thanks to Any (the OP) for making his services known to us. David Quote
craigo Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Is it a big job to remove the wheel in the first place? What tools are needed etc? These wheels do look superb! Quote
spursmaddave Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 If anyone wants a spare wheel (no airbag) while they send theirs off to be done then let me know as I think I have one knocking around somewhere...... Sent from the golf club... Quote

You need a security bit to remove 2 brass screws each side then its easy, plastic comes off, air bag out (carefully) then a big bolt... Personally I would do something with the silver bits round the steering wheel buttons, that plastic is nasty, wrap it or something... Sent from the golf club... Quote
