  1. Exactly my experience too, maybe it had something to do with the later model HRs in comparison It's been a while since I've been on here. The reason being I changed my 2006 manual 350z for a 2010 auto 370z and hated it in the end, to be honest one of my worst car decisions. I kept the 350z for over 3 years, the 370z lasted less than a year. In that time drove the 370 half the amount I did the 350, purely because I didn't enjoy it. As others have said the manual 350z is more of a drivers car and more fun. That's my view at least....and we all have our own opinions. My recommendation is go and drive a manual and auto 370z before making the move, make sure you really enjoy it. The good news is I only lost £500 on the 370 for a years driving
  2. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we used stormsure Pete Another + 1 for stormsure
  3. +1 for the Black & Decker lithium battery vacuum cleaner. I have a slightly different version but like the idea of the flexible hose.
  4. Lol, there's your answer, just like a central heating system
  5. You swim in the lakes!!! Bit cold isn't it?! Only May to October and in a wetsuit, it actually gets too warm mid summer so that you have to cool down after one lap. Though there are quite a few braver that only wear swimsuits....not for me as I like the comfort of knowing I can't sink in a wetsuit !
  6. Aha, I go swimming in one of those lakes, where the wakeboard and ski club is located.
  7. Beaconsfield services isn't a million miles from me, let me know if you arrange anything. There are a potentially a few in the Oxon area that could be up for a meet.
  8. I have seen the car parked up as I've cycled past
  9. Yes, there are some T**** on the road. It a shame as so many are careful. I'm getting out on the bike quite frequently at the moment, while there is no rain so I am probably seeing a few more idiots than normal. My worst experiences from this week were an Audi and BMW going past on a 50 limit road, doing at least 70, no cars on the other side of the road, but they appeared to enjoy flying past only inches to my right. Both incidents were at about 7pm so I assume they were in a rush to get home. Also, a couple of occasions I have been overtaken for the car only for it to turn left some metres ahead so that I have to slam on the brakes. There was absolutely no point in overtaking me... On the flip side I have seen a cycling club out that were at least 2 side by side and about 15 members in the bunch. It does make overtaking for cars very difficult. I think they should split the group to make it easier.
  10. This is shown in the video i did it said you should go in the other lane well the distant from the outside rider would be the same is you only cut half the lane to pass a single how is it ok in one instant and not the other? I think 1:41 onwards in the video Here is the HC extract, I haven't looked at the mentioned rules, probably worth taking a look give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car (see Rules 211 to 213) and 214 to 215).
  11. From what I could see he was going the same speed as the lorry and set himself up to also pass the cyclists ahead ?
  12. Yes, just adding a blue line doesn't help, education is required too, for cyclists and drivers. Last year I cycled from Marble Arch to Arc de Triomphe and to be honest i hated driving through London and Paris, not much fun at all. Give me the countryside any day, I'm fortunate to have the Cotswolds on my doorstep.. One thing that really gets me is cyclists with no helmets on...mad !
  13. I guess it depends on where you live, there are no cycle lanes out here and very few traffic lights, but lot's of drivers that get too close when passing. And cyclists in big groups not allowing drivers to pass easily, especially at the weekend
  14. same thing happened in cambridge but they cant track the cyclist http://www.cambridge...tail/story.html Terrible, adults shouldn't be cycling on the footpath, unless allowed (and then with care), and should be fined. We have to remember there are many car drivers that jump red lights, take no notice of zebra crossings etc. Unfortunately there will always be bad bike riders and car drivers.
  15. Mad video, this demonstrates how some other European cities have got the path, road and cycle lane planning right
  16. That hoody youth comment was only in relation to the original post. I am sure you will get some cyclists trying to get a PB and cutting corners, this is clearly wrong, I haven't seen it around where I live but I am more in the countryside.
  17. Just to respond to this part of your post as I mostly agree with the rest of it. If I were to take a bike out for an hours cycling I would most likely encounter death or a near death experience - this is nothing to do with other road users simply my current level of physical fitness (or lack there off) May I suggest you keep ideas like that to your self or at the very least caveat them with a health warning!!!!!!!!! Lol, maybe a battery assisted bike ?
  18. I am a keen cyclist so I feel as though I should provide some input as I see both sides of the story From what I can tell in the original post this sounds more like the attitude of youths in hoodies. I have also encountered the same in the local town and ended up walking straight in front of them so that they have to stop or get off of the path, I can't remember seeing a keen cyclist using footpaths only parents with their children. I can't really comment on cyclists riding drunk or not having lights. In my experience these are not usually 'keen' cyclists but youths or car drivers that have a mountain bike in the shed and don't want to pay for a Taxi. I agree that there are some idiots that run red lights but don’t we have the same sort of idiots driving cars too ? Have any of you tried cycling along our UK roads with all of its pot holes and drains that have not been raised when resurfacing work has been completed in the past ? Believe me due to this you end up having to continuously swerve around these obstacles or cycle a third of the way across the lane. This is why cars have to give enough space to allow a cyclist to move around. I admit I get angry when cars pass me and I can almost feel their wing mirror brush against my hand. Is everybody in such a rush in life that they have to pass so close ? What would happen if I had to swerve around a pot hole at that time, yes the motorist would be fine, I’d likely be badly injured or dead. I encounter at least one driver every time I go out that have to 'just' skim past me when there is nobody else on the road and 2 lanes are free ! Why ?? I agree that cyclists should not cycle side by side if cars are around or on a main road. Also, big groups of cyclists riding together in a continuous line is also wrong, they should give spaces to allow cars to pass. I don’t have a camera on the bike but their some incidents I have encountered, in general with white van drivers, where I wish I had worn one. There was one instance where I was coming down a hill in the evening, standing up to make my presence bigger, with numerous lights on including flashing lights where a white van pulled straight out in front of me, even a farmer in tractor on the opposite side of the road saw it and had a rant at the white van driver. I recommend all of you taking a bike out for an hour or so and try cycling around and see what you encounter. I am sure if everybody tried this they would be much more understanding and peace on the road But I must say following a lycra clad lady cyclist is always good. That's how I keep up my fitness….
  19. It definitely was, I live in Kingston Blount, the other side of the M40. I regularly cycle over to Benson and the surrounding villages. I know one of the other local members on here was thinking about setting up an Oxon meet, I'll have to send him a PM.
  20. On Saturday, it's the first time I've seen another silver roadster. I was disappointed to see that the roof of was up

    My 911

Lovely car, I must admit I am starting to get the itch again after owning a 1988 model in the mid 90's. Looking at the prices now I should have had her shipped back from the US and kept her. On a serious note let me know when you look to sell her, I could be interested, but in the mean time enjoy !
  22. Good video, I didn't expect to be watching it to the end.
