Ricey Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Actually in fairness im so car deprived that it could be a Robin Reliant and id get a mean chubby Quote
spursmaddave Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Fitted my new steering wheel today: Still.need the small covers either side, but I think it suits the car well so far. All installed a USB charging point: Someone on here must have some spares for the wheel, I have a spare wheel but it is naked, not even an airbag.... Sent from the golf club... Quote
spursmaddave Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 You'd think so wouldn't you! If mine had the covers you could have had them... you going to wtap them, the faux aluminium look won't go with that interior will it Sent from the golf club... Quote
Lexx Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I've got some spare material that is used for the dashboard itself. Gonna cover them in that. Quote

HARMLU Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Glad you got the cover ok. Interesting thread alex Quote
Lexx Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Cheers man. Yeah, it arrived safely yesterday. I did mean to PM you. The airbag came out no problem too. Just need to be teased out. Quote
HARMLU Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Awesome! I didn't want to break it so thought it was better to just send the whole 'wing mirror' haha 1 Quote
Lexx Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Not had chance to work on the car as such. But ordered a small fortune in parts. This box arrived from Tarmac today So that's new timing belt (already have water pump etc), new scuttle panels, new radiator brackets and bushes, IACV gasket for when I overhaul it, new bonnet latch to replace my corroded one. This is on top of the stack of wet and dry I have for sorting out my alloys, all the silicone tubing and couplers (in black) and stainless mikalor T-Bolt clamps. Also got new interior mats on order, a new stereo, and still need to finish the steering wheel conversion. Just need the time to do all of it now! 1 Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Some nice bits there.... something to look forward to when you get some spare time Sent from the golf club... Quote
Lexx Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Been busy today. Fitted my new exhaust and decided I don't like it. Found out the one I removed is a rare as hell Fujitsubo. So think I'll try and get it repaired. Fitted new scuttle panels Fitted new silicone couplers and mikalor clamps Fitted new radiator brackets and bushes Finally finished the 350z steering wheel! Big thanks to Ewen for the last bits for it. 1 Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Looks good Al, how did you get that effect on the plastics? Quote
Lexx Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Thanks Ewen. They're wrapped in faux leather Quote
coldel Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nice work Alex, a fujitsubo eh! Give it a go at a repair for sure! Quote
spursmaddave Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 What didn't you like about the new exhaust? Sent from the golf club... Quote
Lexx Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 What didn't you like about the new exhaust? Sent from the golf club... Sounds good, but looks gash. The tips sit far too far back and are almost hidden out of view. They also sit too low (though I can bend the hangers to fix that). It only cost £100 and doesn't have a ton of holes in like the one I took off. I'll just have to save for a new one from Tarmac. Quote

Ah ok, yeah does sound like it would spoil the look... good luck fixing the old one or sourcing a nice shiny new one Sent from the golf club... Quote
