Sarnie Posted August 7, 2012 Share Posted August 7, 2012 I suppose I'm just pining for Saffy It is a good clean car - although has seen some gritty sponges in it's time - and if I stop aiming for amazing mpg it can be fun...but only in a straight line I think the key here is that you have to realise that whilst your not in a car like a zed your not actually going to enjoy driving. Your primary aim is/was cost cutting so you need to get into that mindset now. In my previous cars, I would love going for a blast and even a trip to the corner shop was an experience. Now it's a purely functional experience. Car looks just fine, and if it's a bit swirly nothing a solid detail couldn't handle. I know - but I thought Ermintrude (the cow) was quite appropriate for a diesel barge. I think the key here is that you have to realise that whilst your not in a car like a zed your not actually going to enjoy driving. Dblock Posted August 7, 2012 Share Posted August 7, 2012 A guy I work with bought a 95 aero. It's a 2.3 "hot" but bloody hell it's dull. It's only nippy ok straight lines and is just grey and dreary. Vectra wouldn't come with as many bells and whistles but the GM parts was one of the reasons I went for it as it 'should' be relatively easy to source parts and cheaper to fix than a Beemer or Alfa (I really shouldn't tempt fate should I? ) Its ok... It broke tonight and all I thought was 'awwwww so cute' then I fixed her with my obd reader and off she pops again! Still on the same tank of fuel from 2 weeks ago, punchy engine, awesome handelling.
