well now! what a day i had yesterday i will explain all now (this may be a long story so be warned) :)

Right then on wednesday me and a friend went and got a hire van from 'thrifty' so that he could pick up a new (to him) 2007 HONDA CRF 450 MOTO X from Plymouth. we only had the van for 24 hours so it needed taking back yesterday by 1057hrs. said friend was also meant to be taking his GF to the local city for some retail therapy. so we arranged to all meet up outside my house at 0900hrs so that we had plenty of time to get to the van back and fuel it up on the way. also i had been looking for a temper orange 350z for a few weeks and at about 2300hrs wednesday night i had a quick look on eBay and there she was in all her orange glory. i sent the guy a message asap, i went to bed and when i woke up on Thursday there was a reply with a phone number.

Now this is where the fun start's, about 1/3 of the way there i went round a roundabout and we heard something slide in the back of the van, i thought it was just a strap we had used to secure the bike, but nooooo my friend then proceeded to drop his head into his hands and say "the bloody bike!!" so i politely replied 'don't you even tell me its still in the back!' and he just looked at me then his GF and she just laughed.

so we turned around and off we went back to where we started to drop his bike off at his house, on the way to his house (i say on the way we were about 200 meters away) he said "its alan" (his step father) he had driven out of his driveway then decided to top his oil up at the X junction just outside there house (why he didnt do it home is still a mystery to me  ) so we stopped and asked him if he was ok? he replied "i cant open the bonnet" so we pulled over near him and eventually got the secondary bonnet catch to open. we left him to fill up with oil.

we dropped the bike off and turned around to drive out of said friends driveway and out run's his mother (in her dressing gown switz swoo B) ) she waved us down, i wound my window down and she said "alans broken down at ******" and we said 'we have just seen him how long ago did he ring you?' she replied "2 seconds ago" so we replied ' did he say what was wrong?' she replied "no he just said the car just started shuddering then cut out and it wont start" so we replied 'we will go and find him and see if we can help'

so off we went, about 5 mins down the road there was alan with his hazard lights on, we pulled up behind him and we all (expect my friends GF) got out we had a chat about what lights were light on the dash and came to the conclusion he had run out of diesel, so off we went with £20 of alans money to get a fuel can from my friends house then get some fuel. we got to there house found said black (diesel) fuel can took the lid off and there was petrol in it!!!!!!!!! so we got back in the van AGAIN drove to a garage that was halfway between there house and alan in his broken down car. got a new fuel can and filled it up with diesel. drove to him, put the diesel in his car, waited for the car to start and sent him on his way to get some fuel asap!! (we warned him of the dangers and possible implications there are of running his car to empty and he just nodded)

so it was now 1018hrs and 40 mins away from were the van needed dropping off. we all got back in the van and made our way as safely as possible to drop it off. we got the van compound just in time 1055hrs the van was booked back in and the guy said to me "wow mate pushing it there weren't you?" i just smiled polity and signed it back over to them. now we got into my friends car (we had left it there while we had the van) i got in the back and tried to call the guy about the ZED no answer, so i tried again no answer. i thought oh it may be abit early so left it. we proceeded to drive into the local city, on the way past 'pets at home i said to my friend and his GF 'do you think there would be a notice board of pets for sale in there?' the replied "yeah thats where we got our 2 kittens from, so we drove round and parked up outside 'pets at home'

i thought i know what i will do i will send the guy a text about the ZED telling him who i was and that i was very interested. no sooner had i sent it i got a phone call from the guy. we spoke and i put a offer in on the basis that the car was in as good as condition as he said and he accepted. i went straight to the bank and withdrew the agreed amount for the car. called him and said 'i've got the cash can i come and collect it today?' he replied "today? as in thursday?" i said 'yeah i about 250 miles away from you i can be with you by around 1700hrs' he replied "give me 15 mins and i will call you back" he called back and we spoke about how i could pay him as he didn't really want to take £***** cash from someone he didn't know (which i can totally understand) so we both went to our own banks and asked what the best and safest way to transfer the money was. they both said telephone banking, cash transfer it can take up to 2hrs MAX. so that was it.

Off i went with my GF in her mini cooper to have a look at a temper orange 350Z, a long 3 1/2hrs later we were there. we meet up with the guy and i checked the oil filler cap for any residue etc, checked the oil level, the water colour and level, under the car for damage etc etc etc then i he took me for a test drive (stereo off so i cold listen for rattles and knocks) it was a beauty!! nothing wrong with her, so i said 'i will take it' we re-agreed on the said price and it was settled. we went and signed the paperwork and off i went in my new ZED. :):yahoo::yahoo: woohoo!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo:

so the basics of the story are i had a nightmare off a day but also came away with an amazing car!
