Builder49 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Hi everyone. Well this is all new, and as a newbie to the 350 (or any sports car come to that) I've already got myself hooked. Imagine I might be popping here quite a lot? Beginning to wonder if I'm just a bit mad having just read loads of threads on here and realised that there is more to owning one of these vehicles than I thought!! Never owned a high powered car before. Never owned a 2 seater. Know nothing about car maintenance (just where the fuel goes, and the ignition key). Just purchased an 06 coupe with gt pack, in black with black leather. Bought from a small second hand dealer, having driven one other at another dealership and fallen in love with the feel. Now wondering if I should have bought privately from an enthusiast? Dont collect if for another few days, so not even sure what I should do once I have it to make sure everythings ok? Any advise for a complete numpty (should have made that my username) will be greatly appreciated... Promise not to ask too many stupid questions, as I probably wouldn't understand the answers anyway!! Anyway, HI. Quote
bronzee Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Welcome the forum. If you're not mechanical minded have it mechanically checked, guessing they'll note any accident damage or the like too. Quote
Zugara Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Welcome, most questions and answers can be found using the search feature on the forum. Quote
NeilMH Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 to the forum. There are some good independent specialists around who can be relied upon for maintenance and repairs. Quote
glrnet Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 , where are you, if there's a member near by they might be willing to give the car the once over for you? Quote

Promise not to ask too many stupid questions, as I probably wouldn't understand the answers anyway!! Anyway, HI. It's a car at the end of the day much like most others. Don't listen to the scaremongers on here who say if you don't check your oil every day the engine will blow up, or if you don't grease your droplinks etc the car will fall apart. Just get it serviced when it should be serviced and at a decent independent garage recommended on here and post up if you get any warning lights or noticed anything strange and you will be absolutely fine If you have just bought the car you could get a service done even if it doesn't need it just to put your mind at rest and then you can enjoy it properly Quote
rabbitstew Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Welcome! As others have said, if you have any doubts about the car it may pay to get a mechanic or AA inspection done for peace of mind. As for running a zed, they are perfectly good every day runners like a lot of other cars! Have fun! Quote
Builder49 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 Im in Bedfordshire, so if any member is local and fancies a look, mainly at the car, but secondly to realise mindless numpties do buy fast cars, then I'd be more than grateful. Hope to pick it up early next week (the garage need to clear my cheque in case I'm a rogue). Must say I thought it looked good and sounded good and handled well, but did have to push them on replacing the front tyres as even I knew they were practically illegal !! Having said that, looking and sounding ok is just my opinion, and thats pretty worthless to be honest... I can drive a fast car, but used to buying my vehicles new. Amazing how quick you get the bug to get it looking and sounding even better though !!! Thanks for all the welcomes Quote
