Robin5000 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi there, having just bought a 350Z, after saving forever, I now understand all the raves about this superb car. Mine is a 54 plate, with 31000 correct miles, and I love it.It has a built in Sat nav system, but the guy I bought it from had lost the CD-rom that powers it. I ain't the most technical guy, but I've made some enquiries, and it seems that there are two systems, The CD X6, and the DVD X7. Trust me to have the CD system. As I'm new to the car, and can't tell you how re-assuring it is to know there's a wealth of interest and expertise out there, I'd be truly grateful to hear from any member who may have an old CD rom for my X6 system. I don't really care if it's a 2003 version.I will ofcourse pay for it, but just want to see what it looks like at the moment !. I'm in for the long haul, so I'll be asking you experts for advice later on about an upgrade system, or replacement system like the Nurrish I've heard about, but don't know how to make contact. Sorry i haven't got anything to contribute at the moment, but hope as time goes by I may be able toput something back in the pot ! Thanks all Robin5000. Quote
EH 370z Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 All the very best with the new car along! There might be a better way(cheaper) with the nav disc, but if you are really struggling let me know Quote
mbs Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Hello & may I say it's nice to read a well presented and courtious intoduction unlike some we've had lately Quote
rabbitstew Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Welcome to the forum. I think google will be your friend with regards to the sat nav disc. Unfortunately ive the dvd version in my car, else I might have been able to help you out. Quote
JetSet Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Welcome . It seems that the CD for the earlier 350Z is quite rare, I've been unable to unearth one. However there are several SatNav disk specialist companies that might be able to help you out, but you'll need to contact them first. The one below charges around £40 for a disk.....BTW, Nissan charge £495 for the DVD http://www.satnav-updates.com/ Pete Quote
AK350Z Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 If you are thinking of replacing the stereo in the near future, get one with a nav built in. Then you can use postcodes too, unlike your existing one! Quote
Robin5000 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Thanks to you all for your friendly and early responses to myself and my difficulty. Very kind. Robin 5000 Quote
Robin5000 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 I am a Newbie, and following my post of yesterday 1.2.12. am amazed at the speed and the number of responses, and the huge number of daily posts that the forum gets. I've only just bought my 'Z' so don't have any input as yet, and I feel a bit like a take and no give member, but I hope to put that right as time moves on. One kind member to whom I spoke yesterday suggested that I ask the Forum population if anyone that has an X6 sat nav system in their car, with the CD rom that powers it,may be kind enough to burn a copy for me,the costs of which plus a decent beer voucher would obviously be paid by myself. If anyone can help please let me know, and thanks again for the many kind responses to date. Quote
Maccaman Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hi & to the forum. It seems most dump the Birdview satnav as you cannot put in postcodes. Quote
bronzee Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Welcome to the forum. That's quite low mileage. Nice find. Quote
