Berk HFC's + Nismo = Rasp?

From what I have seen and heard I think the closer you get to a full ‘race’ type of exhaust set up, which will typically include HFCs, Decats etc as well as an aftermarket backbox, then you WILL be getting more rasp.

I have the Milltek exhaust which I believe is similar in tone to the Nismo and will be getting Berk HFCs installed in a couple of weeks so will post my findings. I like a bit of rasp, although not overly so.

There's a bit of rasp, then there's the nismo + berk hfcs currently. I'm still in two minds about them. The rasp is what put me majorly off the M3 in the end.

I like the added volume, but ~4k it gets pretty darn raspy and that's all you can hear, inside or out. Interesting smell too, I was expecting maybe a slight petrol smell but that isn't what you get.

Crikey, I've also gotten this at ~2k revs too:

Listening to that clip I had a very similar sound when I fitted straight through decats with a OEM exhaust. Anything below about 3k made that horrible rattle/resonate sound to the point i had it on a ramp and ended up pulling the heat shield off around the STD Y pipe  but it was still there. So needless to say they lasted all of about 24hrs on the car, and now have a home in my shed :teeth:

Sounds a bit quiet to me :p

Pff, I've still got my hearing  Not sure i'd keep it for long with a single exit :thumbs:

Single ftw, It meant I could just nod my head while my passenger talked away :teeth:
