neo Posted June 2, 2011 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Got the FREE lego x-wing the other week that was on offer in the SUN newspaper, yes i'm a big kid excitedly put the model together only to be find one of the pieces was deformed (from the factory) so wouldn't fit emailed them but didn't expect much, they replied the same day - ************************************* Thanks for getting in touch with us. We have a whole department of experts (and machines) who test every LEGO set before it leaves us - they even weigh every box to make sure there's nothing missing. We'd like to get even better at catching any faulty LEGO sets though, so I'm passing your comments onto the team in charge of testing. It'll help them make sure this doesn't happen again. Your LEGO parts are on their way from our warehouse in Denmark and should be there within 7 business days. For starters the Twin Turbo is missing, the forged internals appear to be forgotten and the Weds SA-67r in BLC wheels are also missing and appear to have a brand called Rays As your factory line have clearly pushed this vehicle through inspection without having these critical parts I demand a resolution and clearly the sacking of someone who forgot to install these items Kind Regards wasso Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is rubbish and sapping imagination from kids. When I was wee you get lego and you could make a few models out of one set and all the bits were fairly standard. I have piles of lego at Mums house, some of it was hers so it lasts! My Niece likes to play lego with me and sometimes my Dad as we are Engineers and have imagination! Exactly what i said to my nephews when they started getting into lego, tooo many specialised pieces guess they call it progress I'm not into the specialised stuff..... Just a big ass box of standard lego and let the imagination run wild. Lego Technic was cool too. It was a bit more grown up with lots more parts but still not specialised so you could actually make what you wanted to make! rabbitstew Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Totally agree. I saw some advert on the telly the other night and said to my missus about how i couldnt believe how much lego had changed. Looked like nearly every bit on this "aeroplane" or whatever it was on the advert was moulded specifically for that aeroplane, whereas when i was a kid, lego was just blocks and long chunky bits of plastic, so you`d use your imagination and be able to make 101 things. Ive still got a massive wooden lego box up the loft full of blocks. This thing is huge, 2ft by 4 i think and has the proper lego logo on it. God knows how much that would cost today if you bought it!
