martinmac Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Here we go again. Its going to be the same old pantomime again. Not at all convinced about our stile force either. Quote
martinmac Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 We can always borrow a scottish player, they dont have much on at the moment. Quote
350 Russ Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 to be completly honest im not to bothered about rio being out for the tournament, he is a great defender when he is on form but he isnt at the moment, he's been injured all season so wasnt going to be sharp anyway, and ledley king is a much better player! with rio at the moment i just expect stupid mistakes, like against holland in a friendly earlier this season Quote

Stew Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Just spent a very satisfying 5 minutes making this! Apparently Duran Duran have re-released an old classic for the World Cup... "His name is Rio and he watches from the stand!" Beavis Just think if you give up being a mod you'll no longer be able to change my posts! Quote
Arkwright Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 It seems like Heskey did it to him. God knows why they take that lumbering oaf. Quote
Sarnie Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 This will be a blessing in disguise mark my words. Rio hasn't been playing well for two years and has been injured for the most of the last year. This also removes one of the biggest ego's from the dressing room which can only be a good thing, and being replaced by someone who is actually really hungry to be at the world cup. Quote

He may of had a good season at Spurs but has he really been tested against the top stikers in the world? Not saying Rio would have been fit for the job either after a shambles of a season at Old Trafford but he has the experience of previous seasons to go on which in world tournaments you really need. Ekona Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Whilst I feel sorry for Rio on a personal level as it's every bloke's dream to lead England out at a World Cup, if we can't manage without him then that doesn't say a lot for our squad. Carra will be a more than suitable replacement, even if he's not had the best of years either. Anyone know who the vice captain is now? Lampard? Rooney? Quote
cookiemonster Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Gerrard is Captain and apparently Lampard Vice, should be funny Quote
