McG Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Any troubleshooting advice for headlight washers not working? I have the headlights turned on and tried short bursts of the windscreen washers but nothing happens with the headlight washers. Quote
Stewal Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 On many cars which share the same reservoir the light washers trip long before the bottle is empty to avoid having nothing for the screen. So it is certainly wise to test with a full reservoir before assuming a fault. Quote
McG Posted June 9, 2023 Author Posted June 9, 2023 Thanks, I’ve topped the water level up to the top of the input neck and tested it, however I am not sure if the actual reservoir is full as I have read that the neck can get full but not the reservoir, and without taking the bumper off I’m not sure how else to check the fill level of the reservoir. Payco Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Never used mine. I know you naturally want them working but does anyone actually ever deploy them ? Quote
Andy_Muxlow Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 They are an MOT fail if not working, however I don't know if most bother to check them. I guess it's a case of if they're there they must be working. 1 Quote
Loadmaster Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Don't headlamp washers generally operate only after a few pulls on the screen washer? Certainly for the Z and our Ateca, I only notice them operating after every few occasions that the screen washer is used. Quote
davey_83 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Might be seized if not been used in a good while. See if you can work the solenoid manually. Quote
Stewal Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Does the 370 have the manual overide switch to operate them (lights have to be on) like the 350 does? Quote
Willsy1980 Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Easy way to test, they always squirt on the first or 3rd pull with the headlights on Quote
McG Posted June 16, 2023 Author Posted June 16, 2023 Thanks. I’ve tried that and had someone watch the front of the car while I tried it. Been told that the washers don’t pop up. Quote
