Adam87
Hi there I am new here, I have had my 350z now for about a year and to be honest haven't had much luck with it and really need some advice on what the best thing is to do. Many Thanks Adam Edited April 24, 2018 by Adam87

longsh07
Hi Adam, As others have said, you've come to the right place. Let us know what we can help with
Adam87
I am having a few suspension issues, first off I replaced the front lower arms due to worn bushes, I replaced them with motorsport arms not standard obviously. Then shortly after that the suspension started to knock again and also makes a fairly noisy cracking noise when turning the steering wheel, and I have had it checked and they cannot find anything loose or broken. I also have had a clicking/clunky noise coming from the back when I brake whilst reversing. I am also sad to say that a few months back I was involved in an accident where someone drove into the side a my 350z late at night when they jumped a red light, and since then my fuel reading has been all over the place, for instance one second it could be reading 120 miles then the next its saying empty. And I know I might get some haters because my 350z is damaged but I love my 350z, I couldn't go after the people that did it because after the accident I couldn't move due to a problem I have with my spine. It really upsets me seeing the car like that and need the best advice on repairing it, And I could also do with a few exhaust system recommendations, I need to replace the exhaust and would prefer a stainless steel system. longsh07
Sorry to hear that, hope you're all sorted after that accident. As much as I hate to see a banged up 350Z, people are far more important! Anyway, knocking from front end is usually related to tie rods / drop links / ball joints. I'd guess at tie rods if you say it cracks while steering. Where did you take it to get checked? Clicking rear end is fairly common problem, plenty of info available online for that one. Here's one example: Which fuel gauge is going haywire? The one on the little screen in the three gauge cluster or the needle on the dashboard? I don't know much about how this works but sure someone will be along shortly to help As for advice for repairing the car, probably worth speaking to your insurance about it in the first instance and seeing what they suggest. If the accident is exactly as you said then chances are you wont be penalised for it and they will sort your car if fully comp. Finally, on exhausts, if you are after something fairly standard like then you cant go wrong with a Milltek system. If your after something a bit more beefy then Cobra or Invidia are good options Any of the traders on here will be about to sort you out with something to meet your needs! Adam87
To be honest both the fuel gauges are going haywire they keep going up and down all the time, I was wondering could the fuel sensors be at fault due to the accident damage on the drivers side of the car. And in regards to repairing the damage, when it comes to my car I only let people I trust touch my car due to a few bad past experiences with other cars. I was wondering what the best option is in regards to repairing the damage, now me myself would prefer to fit a new rear wing and I rang nissans and they want £600 for new rear wing, does that sound about right or am I being ripped off. And as for the exhaust I would prefer something that gives you that little extra horsepower and bit more noise. And its due for a service soon so I will get the rear axles and shafts checked out and try and get to the bottom of the front suspension problems. It would be nice if I knew any 350z specialist garages in my local area. The only reason I take it to the people I do is because they are family friends and they both own a 600bhp evo and a 660bhp r32 gtr.

SHEZZA
Hi Adam welcome along. £600 sounds about right for a rear quarter panel. Not the easiest of panels to replace though as it’s welded on. Is it not repairable? A pic would help.
Adam87
Yes I have been told it is repairable and that once finished I wont be able to notice that its had bodywork. And yes it is the cheaper option to repair it, but with what type of car it is I don't particularly want to do things on the cheap if you understand. This was my dream car for years and I want it to be perfect. Someone I know said they could repair the damage for £900. But if I was to have new panels it would come to £2000. SHEZZA
Ouch ! I know where your coming from. I think that i would want that replaced too, and had the figure of two grand in my mind aswell.

I think £2K is about right for getting that fixed, could be worth getting a couple of quotes even if it's for peace of mind only. Location of damage does suggest the impact caused the fuel gauge problem. Fuel tank is a saddle bag style and is around that sort of area. I doubt the fuel tank is damaged but the shock might have knocked the level sensor or other associated electricals loose.
longsh07
By the way, might be a bit of a trek around the M25 but highly recommend a garage in Kings Langley called Japex Automotive. They look after loads of club members cars and Willbe honest and fair with you if you need help with anything Edited April 25, 2018 by longsh07

Yeah to be honest I would prefer to replace the panels, but some people keep telling me that you have to take interior out and that it may not go back together right, which has kind of got me worried. That is why I am asking this group, because who knows more about these cars than anyone else. And looking at this group everyone has amazing looking cars, and I want my car to look perfect, if I am able to go on these car cruises that I have seen. I just don't want to be judged for the way my car looks if you understand.

ZMANALEX
That is a fairly straightforward repair by a competent body shop with the correct tooling. The last thing that you want to do is replace the panel. If it is a good repair then you would never know. To the informed with a trained eye, you would always spot if a new panel has been fitted. Thanks for the advice, I just thought I would ask your opinion, because I don't want to be judged by people saying I should of replaced it. So if your saying to get it repaired then that is good enough for me, I just want my car to look good enough for when I am able to join up with you lot on one of the cruises that you do. You recommended an Nvidia exhaust for my 350z and was wondering what I can do about also replacing the manifold and cats as I can only seem to find a cat back system from NVidia, is it possible to get another brand for the manifold and cats ??? longsh07
Manifolds are apparently a pig to change even if you can get them off but there are options available. Aftermarket high flow cats or decats are available too. If you go highflow, its pretty much 50/50 chance of getting through an MOT even if you get them red hot. I've had two different pairs and my car will just not pass emissions with them fitted so went back to stock cats. Can go full long tube headers which will remove the cats but not leave you anywhere to refit them. Stillen make some nice looking standard headers, while Berk, Cobra, and a few others make highflow cats. Speak to any of the traders, @Tarmac@TarmacSportz @Ewen@Clark Motorsport @MITZ@CougarStore @Adrian@TORQEN , they can sort you out with your options Edited April 26, 2018 by longsh07

Have you or anyone got different exhaust parts because I obviously do not want to compromise the power or anything of the car.
longsh07
Any cat back system should work with any direct replacement cat, high flow cat or decat pipe provided the flanges and location match that of the stock system. I have the Milltek system fitted to my car and that fits up fine with Berk and Cobra HFCs as well as stock cats. Whatever you do you'll need a remap to actually see any benefits from replacing the exhaust (noise excluded of course)
Adam87
Yeah I understand that, I will get in contact with one of those traders and see what my options are, and do you know where the best place is to get my car remapped ???
longsh07
Abbey Motorsport @Mark@Abbey m/s or Horsham Developments @Jez @ H-Dev Both shouldn't be too far to go for you. Edit: there guys could could do the whole process for you too, supply/fit/remap. Edited April 26, 2018 by longsh07
