Rocket bunny drift zed build

So I've had many drift cars in my time along with being an instructor for learn2drift, I have always kept my very first drift car and have slowly built it to be "the one" then along came the zed!

The zed was meant to be my nice daily till a drift day came up and i thought what the hell, lets weld the diff and see what shes like and WOW! the grip levels are amazing, the na engine is a dream to work with and the noise on WOT is phenomenal. A few more drift days and using it as a drift demo car at L2D and i was hooked, the lexus is up for sale and im building a zed.

My shell had suffered some vandalism while parked over night leaving it with some nasty dents in the roof so a reshell as part of the build seemed to make sence since i had one in the pipeline for cheaps anyway (an ex magazine demo car so i knew the body was mint).

...and here goes...

The grey donor car and the blue will be the project

A good session with a flapping disk, a small repair and a coat of Underseal later and the under body looks good as new and gives peace of mind that I'm building on a solid platform

Since the chassis was given a fresh start it would only be fair to give everything else the same treatment. Plus it's always nice to see shiny things under a car

Even went the extra mile and gave the hubs coat

Today the rocket bunny arches arrived! I may have ****** up a little by thinking the 18x10j rotas would cut it, seems I'll need either some huge (around 75mm) spacers or maybe look at running 12j.

Also the bucket seats have finally come out of hibernation along with some nice new driftworks harnesses.

Good luck with your project, ...love a good build thread. ;)

Cheers dude, I always forget when I start a project and starting one half way through is just pointless. I'll be updating daily, "phase one" should only take a few weeks.

During the build I'll refer to this as "phase one".

The plan is to compete the first phase which will be all the footwork (chassis, suspension, lock, cage, safety equipment etc) but the motor will remain fairly stock (remap, decats, intake and plenum lift).

Phase 2 will be to mount up the remote turbo, fit and map the ecumasters EMU and run on low boost.

Phase 3 I'll be building up my spare engine to take higher boost bringing the car up to a decent competition spec. I'm aiming for around 600 at the wheels
