  1. That girl is 16??!! Looks more like 36 to me, she's going to be rough as anything in 10 years. She's an idiot and deserves everything she gets from life.
  2. Classy. Real classy. If you want different lights, then make them, don't stick tat over them.
  3. There's no right or wrong answer to this, you'd really need to speak to the person doing your alignment and tell them how you want the car to feel, they'll set it up to your taste. I've always felt that 'fast road' or 'track' or whatever settings aren't the best description, every person will have his or her opinion on where those limits will lie. Alex (as usual) has it spot-on. If you don't know how you want your car to handle, then get it back to the stock settings once you've finished fiddling with the components. Once you're then used to how it handles like that, you can decide whether you want more front end pointyness or more stability at high speed or a looser back end (!), or whatever.
  4. Because you're paying for PF to handle the paying of tax and VAT for you, and it's a lot cheaper and less hassle than doing it yourself direct with HMRC
  5. Very true. Given how many tyres we (as a performance car focused community, so across all brands) use in a yearly basis, and the fact that none of us were aware of this, I can't see this being an issue in the slightest unless you're really, really unlucky. Even on stuff that's incredibly tyre-sensitive like the Elise, I doubt many folks would be aware of this and have never come across the issue. Whilst it's great info, and I'm sure it can make a difference, it's not something I'm ever going to lose sleep over.
  6. Good. He knows the law, no point moaning if you get caught. Same with speeding etc, take the risk at your own peril. Not saying that he was moaning, of course On your other points; 1. Not quite, it's just the CARB certification that's the issue. There's ways and means around it, especially if you live close to the state border. 2. Plenty enough for 99% of the time, if you're into trackdays then you'd have it removed for £20. 3. I didn't know that, really? Even though overtaking is allowed both sides? Crazy. 4. So do we  I prefer to compare ourselves to the Aussies. They've got it really tough, with huge restrictions on stuff like lowering the car and very very tight speed limits where even a brush over can put you in trouble. I certainly wouldn't want to live there as a petrolhead.
  7. Just add 25% to the total cost (including shipping) on anything you order and you won't be far wrong. It is a bit of a lottery, but if you work on that figure then anything you pay less is a bonus.
  8. Yeah yeah
  9. That second blue 370z looks incredible. Truly fantastic looking car.
  10. Are you not allowed to watch those kind of movies when Lucy is awake then?
  11.
  12. Dave, what NAS are you using?
  13. I thought my advice was okay as a starting point But yeah, time to go elsewhere I think.
  14. We has all the wubs
  15. MX-5s are the way to go. Got mine for £900, strip it out and add seat £120, harness £50, and roll bar £200, and you're there. Anything else is just adding performance if you want to, but for sub-£1500 you've got a perfect trackday car that's incredibly cheap to run as it's so light. No point in track insurance for something that cheap, just consider it expendable. Even if you wrote it off you'd be able to salvage something to use in the next one, and if you can't then you're probably dead  I've done loads of trackdays by myself, 'tis a good laugh and you meet loads of new people that way.
  16. I knew that already. * * I didn't know that at all.
  17. Usually use AirPlay, but am in the middle of converting everything to stream via Raspbmc instead on my RPi. Have tested the setup and it works fine, just need to purchase the NAS for it now and transfer. Will be using UnRAID for it, works best for my needs.
  18. You buy bits for cars based on what model and revision you have, not the age of the car. Lesson learnt, methinks.
  19. I know someone who's Awesome Rating has increased today by getting a matching set...
  20. I've a better idea, but I don't want to spoil the surprise just yet. Once Zedley gets back here you'll see and I think it's more fitting too
  21. Congrats guys!
  22. It's a serious amount of porn, is what it is.
  23. Should've been a dual-clutch 'box, but otherwise it's dangerously close to motoring perfection.
  24. I worry about your taste sometimes Dip, I really do  My younger brother ran one before his Clio 182. All in black, detestable little thing. Didn't look entirely horrid I'll admit, but the engine had no go and no soul, and the suspension was stuck between wallowy and jarring. The Clio on the other hand...
  25. Ah come now, my poor MX-5 is worth more than a tenner at least
