  1. I said I wouldn't want to go. You're quite free to go there if you please. Blimey, people seem to be a bit touchy on here tonight.
  2. Got a link? Be handy to know for others, especially if the guy can supply more.
  3. I didn't say they would use it solely to convict you. I said they'd use it in evidence. You have a crash, police attend, take the video and produce it in court if the CPS feel they have a strong enough case. No different to using CCTV or any other kind of video evidence. There's plenty of case law to back this up, too. But hey, whatever you think.
  4. Easiest solution? Remove all speed limits, and toughen up the test for dangerous driving. You do the speed you consider safe, but be prepared to defend it in court at risk of 10 years in the clink. Makes 30mph past a school at 3pm incredibly stupid, but allows 120mph on a clear motorway in good conditions.
  5. Frick How is it even possible to do that?! I'm guessing because he's missing some rubber at the rear, but that's still amazing!
  6. I didn't say they'd use it for speeding: You're right, it would be too much hassle to prove speed with that, but they can happily use it as evidence for any number of other naughty things you can do on the road.
  7. That they can FRO with, no way I'm spending a small fortune on replacement Porker HID bulbs! I'll just take the 350Z bulb pack I've still got floating around and show it to them if I get stopped
  8. 4K plus better lens + better low light capability, basically it's a much better product. Check the GoPro website for the exact numbers.
  9. Ooh good shout mate, I'd forgotten about the breathalyser! Licence I always keep in my wallet anyway, but it can definitely go on the list just in case I change wallets before then.
  10. Or the police can grab it and use it to prosecute you Looks good, shame it's not iPhone5 optimised but I'm sure that'll come. Will give it a try, thanks for the heads up
  11. So, quick update time. After chatting with some guys on PH, it would seem that although the French Pyrenees look good on paper, and the views stunning, the roads are simply too busy and in too bad a condition to make them worthwhile doing. As such, I've amended the Day Two route to take me into Spain much earlier: http://goo.gl/maps/usPby The N260 is said to be unmissable, and whilst I'm sad to not be heading up and making the most of the altitude changes, it does look a little bit special I have to admit. I'm going to look into cancelling my hotel in Ax-les-Thermes and grabbing a hotel in Spain instead, but if I can't it's only a 30 min detour so not the end of the world. I've also started making a list of things to bring/remember, which so far looks like this: Passport EU medical card Insurance & V5 Hi-vis First aid kit Oil Tools Washer fluid Cleaning stuff Coat/hoody/hats Suntan lotion Aftersun Snacks iPad, iPhone, camera, memory cards GoPro (to buy) Camera mounts Notepad & pen Laptop? Sleeping bag Power cables Travel adaptor Tyre plug I'm adding as I think of it, if there's anything I've missed please shout up. Have also begun re-learning Spanish so I don't look like a complete nubcake when I get out there.
  12. Not convinced I'd want to go anywhere in North Africa at the moment.
  13. You can get some stunning private villas on the Greek islands too if you'd rather do your own thing, I can get you the name of a guy who owns plenty out there if you like.
  14. Without breaking the 6 hour flight rule, it's tough. Mexico or the Maldives would be amazing, but well over the limit. I'd suggest looking at the Canary Islands. You get the guaranteed weather, and it's easy to avoid the touristy areas by picking one of the plentiful 5-star hotels around that tend to have massive resorts so you'd never need to leave. You can be pampered in luxury, eat the best grub or sunbathe to your heart's content, all without leaving the hotel. Have a look on the usual travel sites (Expedia, Trip Advisor etc) and see if any of them take your fancy. Some of them look stunning, if you're prepared to give them a chance.
  15. They're not too bad on the pax side, as the footwell is big enough to have that seat quite far forward to allow someone to sit behind. Driver seat is a no-no unless you're a midget, but the biggest trouble is the headroom: If you're an adult, there simply isn't enough for anything beyond the shortest journey. S'okay if you're a kid, but otherwise you're left crouching down which really isn't comfortable. It's why I removed them out of mine, they're pointless and I'm an anti-social git anyway
  16. Common sense is also dictated by the driver. If we stopped giving them reasons to lower the limits (speeding in silly places, having accidents etc) then they wouldn't be able to do so.
  17. Depends if you wanted a 2 seat supercar for the weekends or a 2+2 coupe that'll do 20K miles a year without breaking sweat. For £100K I'd have a £60K Gallardo and a £40K 997 C4S, but then we're into a whole different thread of varying combinations.
  18. Perfect weekend. Couldn't have asked for more.
  19. I have no problem with residential 30s being changed into 20s. I'm far more worried about open, well-sighted, rural roads being made into 50s. Thanks for sharing. Interesting how the average speed doesn't drop much, though.
  20. It is very good, but it's also far, far too expensive. I don't mind the GT and Turbo cars being silly money, but not a cooking 911. All it does is make the Boxster (and presumably the Cayman, though I've yet to drive that) seem even better value for money.
  21. Lols at Seb forgetting Jenson Car looks good, can't see it being anything other than astounding really. Fingers crossed for Mark to win the championship this year in it, I'd love to see him do that before he retires from F1.
  22. I can't say I blame them. If you're so thick that you have zero prospects, and working means you get less money, then why work? I'd be exactly the same, and I'm willing to bet that most others on here would too. If you could be no worse off and not work, none of us would choose to get up at 7am in the morning. It's the system that I detest, not the people on it any more. My loathing for them transferred to the welfare state long ago.
