  1. Inner pads wear quicker on every single car ever. I'd be more concerned that you killed a brand new set of pads, but not discs, on one day at Bedford which isn't particularly hard on brakes. I've done multiple days there in multiple cars with varying levels of brakes (including a HR Zed on stock brakes and the MX-5 on vile crappy things) and never come close to killing the pads. Boiling fluid yes, but pads and discs should last more than that, even super soft race spec ones.
  2. Certainly sounds like our friends at HMRC to me. Bunch of inbred illiterate knobshanks.
  3. I don't. Well, I'll do the truck in the heat (I did it this lunchtime), but I don't bother doing my cars as they'll just get covered in spots and I can't be arsed spending time chasing them. Much better to do it correctly when it's cool, then at least you've got the protection for when you can't wash it due to the weather.
  4. Not with the god-awful rear wing though, surely?!

Have you ever had this happen to you? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times, and the general consensus from the PH locals is that it's complete cobblers.

Take both parts of your licence, your V5 and your insurance, and make sure they're all the originals. Unlikely you'll get stopped unless you're speeding, but if you do get stopped then you'll really want these on you.

    19" Tyre pressure

If the same as the 350 then 35 is stock, so go with 37. I'd probably run 38 rear and 37 front myself, but that's personal preference.
  8. Absolutely, no way would you wear a set of brand new brake pads out in one single track day. Definitely a problem there. With the camera thing, I find attaching my GoPro very easy with either the suction mount or the clamp. I may use the app to check the exact shot once or twice in a day, but other than that it's foolproof. Some TDs are happy with just suction, some want them tied down too. MSV tend to be stricter than most. Definitely change both slave and master cylinders on your clutch sooner rather than later, don't leave it until you're stuck somewhere. PF pads and discs are superb, I had them on mine. Top money, but top quality. Ally hats reduce unsprung weight, too. Get the Goodridge lines, you're talking peanuts in what a set of discs, pads and clutch bits are going to cost you. RBF660 or Endless fluid would be my choice, I used the Endless stuff on mine and there is nothing better.
  9. Nope. They are £26k. The slightly-misleading title refers to an offer on DriveTheDeal.

452s have sloppy sidewalls, go at least 2psi above factory recommendations.
  11. What are the standard wheel and tyre sizes on the S15? That will determine what he needs to stop the car looking odd or giving dodgy speedo readings.

Yes, I believe being obtuse is quite simple.

FFS, this is getting painful now. HAVING ILLEGAL TINTS WILL NOT INVALIDATE YOUR INSURANCE. What will is not telling them. If you declare it, then they cannot refuse to cover you in the event of a claim. What it will do is make your car illegal and dangerous, and that surely is the bigger issue.

crikey - I've not heard that one before - thats pretty much everyone on here buggered then 'Tis true, under the construction and use regs IIRC. Almost no-one ever gets done for it unless it's ridiculously loud or completely out of context with the vehicle (i.e. 110dB on a TVR would be okay, 110dB on a Saxo not so much), but in theory the law still stands. Someone got charged for that on PH recently, but was essentially let off in court due to dodgy police noise measuring.

It's illegal to put a louder exhaust on your car, but 95% of insurers will happily insure that.

    Window Tints

And I'm saying that a window tint, even a 100% one or a blacked out bit of cloth stuck across the window, will not in any way affect your insurance, period. Yes, the police will want a word, but that's all. You'll be telling me your insurance is invalid if you don't have an MOT next.

Tints have no bearing on insurance, as long as they are declared. I could go and fit some deadbolts to the inside of my car doors along with some plastic non-moveable screens all round if I wanted which would seriously impede the emergency services, but I could still get insured.
  18. PH. If you get no interest, it's priced too high. Same with AT, which would be my next shout.
  19. Tell me about it, waste of £100 that was!
  20. Clicky clicky
  21. Please don't buy the cassette adaptor. Your ears will hate you for it. UK cars DO NOT have that plug socket on the back of the Bose. There was one incredibly good looking forum member on here who took a punt on buying one back in 2008 on the off-chance, and he confimed 100% that they will not fit. Either hack, or prefereably buy a new head unit.
  22. Actually (and don't take this personally, I'm on a roll!), how is it useful info in any way, shape or form? Did you not know that high value cars get stolen in London? Or that it might not be a good idea to leave your car keys with a bunch of randoms? I have other helpful advice here too: 1. Don't eat yellow snow. 2. Never sit under a cow. 3. Pink before brown, unless directed. All more helpful than knowing some cars got stolen in London.
  23. And I bet all the owners fill up at the same fuel station, and use the same branch of Tesco, and use the same local cashpoint etc. It's far too easy to blame the local minimum wage folks earning an honest crust than it is to bother looking into who actually might have done it. I could sit here and use Google to find the location of a street with some nice motors down it, then call my mate Dodgy Kev who knows a bloke who can get 'em shifted for me to the docks for a fee, and I'll just get £500 per motor. But nope, must be the local car wash scum.
  24. Kinda what I thought. Nothing to do with car washes at all, basically what you're saying is that some high value cars have been nicked in London. In other breaking news, sky blue and grass green.
