    Squeaky brakes

It is, but it also works on squeaky brakes and ones that have friction material stuck to the discs. In short, it's a catch-all procedure that costs nothing to try

    Squeaky brakes

Carry out a bedding in procedure. 5x stops from 50 - 30 low pressure Drive at 70 for a couple of miles without touching the brakes to cool them 5x stops from 70 - 30 med pressure Cooldown 5x stops from 100 - 50 as hard as you can before ABS kicks in Cooldown You can substitute the third one for another 70 - 30 with hard pressure if you don't fancy doing a ton. Carry out the stops one straight after the other, using full acceleration.
  3. Utter waste of time, effort and money reporting on something like this. In fact I'm so devoid of any bother about this I'm not going to waste any more of my time typing a respo
  4. Working through this logically, and please correct me if I'm wrong: First it cranked over but wouldn't fire (possibly indicating no fuel or spark, did you check at the time?) Then it did fire, however wouldn't stable idle (possible air leak) Stopped firing, fuel and spark confirmed Flywheel refitted correctly, fuel and spark lost Is that the correct sequence of events? If so, then it should be something you've done between removing the gearbox to sort the flywheel and replacing it. It cannot be anything else logically, for you to lose both spark and fuel. I don't know if they're on a shared ground at any point, or if there is a cable that's unplugged (or possibly trapped and damaged somewhere?). Of course, cars are funny things and it could be something completely different, however I would start by unplugging and reconnecting every plug you can see that could be connected to this. That's ECU, cam sensors, injectors, coil packs, the lot. It'll take a while, but it's also pretty easy to do and at least it rules out a bad connection.
  5. Up to a point, yes. Anything up to around 90 and the VX will be in front, but after that the bigger engine of the Zed will take over and it won't even be close. VXT will probably stay in front, purely because it'll get away much more quickly and be able to maintain that gap.
  6. It's an obvious mistake, the order will rightly be cancelled.
  7. Oh wait, do I spy an edit there?! I'm leaving my post alone, still.
  8. *sigh* What's wrong with Renaults? An RS265 would leave a Zed for dead on most roads.
  9. Yup, I knew it! CAHOOTS I TELL THEE
  10. You're probably in cahoots with him,
  11. And how were those cars stolen? Yes, that's right, by using the keys obtained during a burglary. God damn those Polish car washers cloning immobiliser codes!

    VX220 NA Build

Good start You also have the TRR (?) expansion bottle cover too, I had one for mine, must have to protect the weedy thing from UV. Seriously consider putting Exige size wheels on, they will absolutely transform the ride and will instantly get rid of the nasty understeer the 17" fronts give.
  13. Would rather have the Zed tbh.
  14. In a bizarre sense of timing, spotted today at the PHSS: My old car, VXR no.20! Looking significantly worse for wear now sadly, interior is grubby and marked, Speedlines curbed badly and the seats are shot to bits.
  15. Good stuff, keeping busy is the way forward
  16. Ah yes, that did make for an interesting drive up. Which is why me and Rich were nearly late, IIRC.
  17. Cheers folks I'll try and get some better pics at the PHSS today, hopefully some in the actual sun
  18. Please shut up, you utter bellend. I don't even own a Zed, and haven't done for over three years now, I bet that must really boil your p*ss that someone like me is allowed to stick around here, hey? I can see the school holidays have started early in the north-east.
  19. Onwards and upwards mate, onwards and upwards. However much it hurts right now, there will be others I can promise you that, and one day you'll look back at this and wonder just why you felt quite so bad. Doesn't feel like it now, but it will happen. You're not the first bloke to feel that there's not much point without X woman by your side, you won't be the last, but all of us are better people for having been through it and moved on. Go out for a blat in the car, clear your mind, and remember all the good times.
  20. No disrespect taken I tend to agree, I still use their blue pro clay though as I've yet to find anything better, but the UC has obviously hit it's limits. Oh, and I buy their Last Touch too, great stuff. I did the Megs day that Tim organised when they sorted the bonnet on Darren's car, great results but it only sorted the swirls. That's pretty much why I started using it, as I'd seen first hand how to use it and what it can do. Onwards and upwards though.
  21. It was at that point I suspect we all diagnosed the problem here Go grab the right harness fella, should sort your problems out
  22. Looks really good, always a fan of black cars on black wheels Are you going to get the panel gap between bonnet and bumper sorted too?
  23. Okay, I'm convinced! I think Russ' idea of using the '5 as a sacrificial test bed is a good idea, so I'll grab that combo kit I think and see what happens. That's guys, even though you've just convinced me to spend roughly 1000% more than I originally intended
  24. Go on then, recommend me one, I think I may take the plunge
