  1. Same reason you'd call a particular type of kit from K&N a Typhoon. It's a brand name, nothing more. They're more common simply because they're cheaper. I loved mine, but no doubt it robbed me of a couple of horses.
  2. I wouldn't. Based upon what you say, wear is as critical as anything. You say the LHS is worn more than the RHS, so putting a tyre that's quite worn on with a tyre that's brand new is asking for trouble. No different to running mismatched tyres across an axle in terms of unbalancing the car, and you wouldn't do that.
  3. i dont know about chavs your area, but most places chavs dont tend to have ferraris To be a chav is a mindset, not a financial thing. Look at Michael Carroll, for example It looks cheap and nasty. Bolt-on wings should only ever be seen on race cars, they look unfinished on road cars.
  4. I did mine about 6 years ago now, still have yet to actually do a race The flag test is utterly f*cking terrifying. It doesn't matter if you've been watching racing for years, and know exactly what each of them means, it's still sh*t scary knowing if you get one single one wrong that you fail everything. I did mine with a bunch of others at Bedford, as part of a group thing organised by Patrick Mortell of Rogue fame. Really good laugh, the morning was spent out on track as an open pit lane day, and then the test at lunch with the practical in the afternoon. We had these utter sheds of VX220s to drive, gearbox was like stirring a bucket of bricks and I missed the gear on more than one occasion. Examiner was okay about it though, we were laughing and joking about how crap they were! Luckily for me this was after I'd owned the VXR so I knew how to handle the car, but some of the people there had never driven MR cars before: I suspect that was proper scary for them.
  5. Yes. Utter rubbish. You'd be much better off going either 45 all round or 40 all round, it's a miracle you're not having TCs issues tbh.
  6. The manager has misunderstood the promotion. All Day One pre-orders are guaranteed, regardless of when you pick them up that day (although I assume there's some leeway in that, like maybe the weekend). The pre-pay option is so you can get the console quicker on the launch night, instead of queuing and faffing with trade-ins and whatnot. It's a time-saver, nothing else.
  7. Chavtastic. Utter, utter shite.
  8. CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU
  9. But different electronic maps for the KERS traction control system? ;)
  10. Do it once a year, more often if you drive on crap roads. Fronts really shouldn't be wearing on the outside.
  11. You just want to see Massa blitz off with the fuel hose attached again Me too!
  12. Far too many rumours of Webber's car being a dev car for Vettel to not have some truth to it, along with Webber having all the bad luck in terms of breakdowns and failures IMHO. If you want to watch F1, just watch the first five laps then the last ten. That's the only time you see any real racing, and that's a real shame.
  13. I don't think either of the two new consoles are good looking, but they'll both fit nicely in with the other black boxes under the telly, Xbone is utterly silent by all accounts, no doubt due to that great big fan. No probs with the PSU brick either, would rather than that extra heat inside the unit itself.
  14. That's what I thought.
  15. No blue flags needed, lapped cars were moving over. Unless there was an incident I missed?
  16. Not his fault the others are rubbish
  17. They say they might patch it back in, but unless everyone kicks up a stink (which they won't) I don't see them making it a priority. A handful of interweb people morning is peanuts compared to the millions of gamers who are going to buy it regardless.
  18. Glad it's sturdy
  19. In related news, Margaret Thatcher is no longer the PM and Michael Jackson's Bad album is doing quite well
  20. See, I'd class that as a major one, but I guess it depends on the testers' view point.
  21. Definite fail as it is, though.
  22. And the rear. And the skirts. And the wing. And the wheels. Just kidding. I like the wheels.
  23. Why would you need more? All inputs go into the AVR, only the one cable to the TV I bought a new TV today. Logik 24" LCD thing for the bedroom. 2 HDMI (I need two ironically, given what I said above, for Sky and ATV), 1080p, DVR via USB, £140. Picture is as good as the £230 Samsung they had next to it on display, and the sound is much better although still sh*t. For a bedroom tellehbocks, it's perfect.
  24. My Dad buys loads of Apple devices when he goes to the US, including iPads and AppleTVs. All work fine
