  1. You thought it though
  2. I have no idea what you mean with that first line, autocorrect fail? Also good point about Spa, I'm the same!

  4. I would actually be very comfortable with that. Jim knows his stuff, has a good eye and can separate friendships from what is best for the greater good.
  5. It always is though. I can think of four months last year where the popular forum member won over the better pic. There is no easy way around it, apart from getting me to choose the pics as that's the only way I'll be satisfied (!), however Jim has shown excellent vision in how the calendar is put together and I trust his decision implicitly.
  6. Not saying that any of those cars don't deserve to be on there, but only if the pic merits it. Again, a good shot of a stock DE would be better than a dull pic of the green beastie, no offence meant Keyser. Perhaps a rule that if you were in the last calendar, you won't be considered for this one? Keeps it fresh and stops the same people being in it every year.
  7. There's too many cars on here who are easily identified: Wasso, Keyser, Buster, Octet, Ebized, all easy to spot.
  8. Do it as a surprise, and do it based on quality of the picture NOT how much money has the owner spent adding that to the outside of their car. A well-shot stock Zed in a thoughtful location would be better as a calendar pic than one of a Zed with a huge body kit on riding on 20" wheels shot in a generic car park with some graffiti around. The calendar has become something of a popularity contest in recent times, rather than quality pics of quality cars.
  9. *know ;)
  10. Not the same size though
  11. I hated Maple Valley. I'll miss Suzuka and Tsukuba, but Spa and the current Silverstone more than makes up for it
  12. Legend I just bought my Xbone!
  13. The cage might be fitted correctly, but I bet the occupants don't wear helmets like you should in a caged car.
  14. I'd love to do something like that, but I couldn't justify the cost for just one kind of game.
  15. They are, I see what you mean, but again I still think that anyone expecting their wheels to work with the Xbone were delusional.
  16. They've said that an adaptor would be expensive, given the limited market. As such, it would need to be priced so high that no-one would buy it anyway. If the adaptor cost £300, and a new wheel £350, which would you buy?
  17. Hey, at least the features are there if you want to use them. Some mixed reviews coming out, mostly positive but with the odd mention of slightly glitchy Kinect operations. Some of the reviewers have noted that they're on beta OS though, however the same was probably true of the PS4 reviews. I'll post two of the best reviews of each console here, at least IMHO: Polygon PS4 review Polygon Xbone review Both seem quite fair. I'm still sure I made the right decision for me, although I can see why some care little for Kinect and the extra cost.
  18. I'd probably retreat to a safe distance, call the police then start filming. I've made myself safe (first rule of any emergency situation), I've called for help (second rule), then I've aided the police in gathering evidence if needed.
  19. Nah, me neither. I always give the keys to the missus on arrival now when we're out and I drive there/she drives back.
  20. Yeah, don't do any of that if you like being insured. Look at it like this: You have an accident and end up piling into a load of people waiting at a bus stop. They all survive, but all need special care for the rest of their lives. The bill is going to be in the region of £10,000,000. Do you not think the insurer might spend another £200 getting the ECU checked? I agree that if it's just a minor ding then no, they probably won't check, but I wouldn't want to stake every penny I own on it. Not telling your insurer about every single mod is just dumb. Read the contract.
  21. Since that increases power, and you've told them about it, then a remap isn't going to add much (if anything) to the premium. Also, Sky are ace for stuff like this.
  22. If you have the keys to a car, and are inside it, you're in control of it. You have to do something pretty spectacular to prove that you're not in control of it (we'll ignore the whole 'innocent until proven guilty' thing at the door), like sleeping in the front seat whilst the keys are in the boot or something equally as daft to get out of it. It's a very wide open law, but on the other hand it does catch those people who are clearly going to drive but happen to be caught by a copper when the engine isn't running and the car isn't moving. Not being too drunk and passing the attitude test is critical to getting away with it, but really you're better off just not having any car keys on you when drunk.
  23. You'd have heard the clutch from where you live, trust me!
  24. It's a remap. If you do not obtain any dyno numbers for it then you can legitimately claim you do not know if the power has increased or not. However, we all know you will so only if you can get the dyno sheet to state less or equal to OEM power can you say that it's been optimised rather than improved. And if you did that, getting an Uprev would be pointless! I wouldn't risk it. Tell them you have a remap up to 10% of the original bhp (that's usually the first bracket they offer) and see what they say. If it's too much, then change insurer.
  25. It's still got that daft metallic clutch in that Aaron had put on, the one that makes immense amounts of noise when you push the pedal but can take a billionty torques. Jo hates it, I'm on the fence. I may swap it out for a standard one, at £90 it's almost a no brainer.
