  1. So hang on Rich, you don't rate the MPSS but you've never tried them? Sorry mate, but you're wrong. They've significantly moved the game on in what people should expect from a tyre on a sports car. On a wafting barge like your Jag I'm sure you'd not notice any difference apart from getting twice the mileage for 1/3 more money, but for those of us with cars that handle they are a cut above when it comes to handling characteristics. OP, the F1s are much better than the Kumhos.
  2. You need to try putting some balm on afterwards. I use Nivea For Men Sensitive post shave balm, works a treat.
  3. Being aware has nothing to do with it, or shouldn't have. It should be about something you care about. In a more direct answer to your question, I'm not sure I have an answer for you. I'm not sure anyone could.
  4. Me too, I've been doing it for years. Normally I just trim everything up with a set of clippers, but a couple of times a year I'll break the wet shave out as well and do it properly.
  5. Giving money to charity is good, mostly. Giving it to one you actually care about is better. Fair enough?
  6. Nothing, if you ignore the fact that makes most people doing it sanctimonious cretins. On the flip side, this may mean that donations to other charities go down as people feel they've done their bit for this year.
  7. Yes, but if people feel so strongly about a cause they're willing to give money to complete strangers, why are they not doing it without a wacky stunt? Most famous people are doing it simply because they don't want negative publicity, and a lot of people on FB are doing it because they want to see their mates look silly.
  8. I think SMD is referring to people donating because they want to, rather than being nominated in a wacky stunt.
  9. So you get a sh*t service just to get some free Amazon vouchers?! How many vouchers do you get, and how much does being with them for three months with crap service cost you?
  10. Well yeah, but I'm assuming they're vaguely competent!
  11. A good point, but they never know when that money is coming in and so may have to pass up opportunities for research because of timing. If you know the money is coming steadily in, then you can plan and budget accordingly. Anyway, Patrick Stewart did the best one that I've seen. Legend.
  12. Sorry, couldn't resist! I have no idea, but I would say that a company that leaves you hanging on hold when all you want to do is buy something wouldn't be getting much of my money.
  13. Cancel EE, take line with BT. /thread
  14. Well yeah, I guess that's pretty much how I feel about it. Care about the cause and donate regularly, or don't and don't.
  15. Of course every little helps, but if people really cared about the cause (and let's be honest, most people don't give a fig about ALS or MND) they'd support it continually. Go and ask a charity if they'd rather one-offs or subscriptions. I'll be amazed if they say the former.
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-28937610 WHO say that e-cigs should be banned indoors, and sales to kids should stop.
  17. That's not what I said at all. The cause would be more helped by everyone pledging £1 a year for ten years, than £10 now and then nothing ever again.
  18. S2K was miles more fun on track than my old Zed was when I drove them back to back at Anglesey, but really I think you want something light and/or sacrificial for track stuff. Your BMW works because it's completely sacrificial at the price you paid, and my MR2 works because it's now so light (and soon with the power to help it!). I don't know how light you can get an S2K, but it would need to be close to 1000kg to see the big differences in cornering. Personally I'd be looking at Elises for that kind of money, they're much better suited and will be both quicker and more challenging. More expensive to fix if you bin it, though!
  19. A one off donation to charity is all well and good, but it's the repeated donations that help more than anything. As any business will tell you, if you have a guaranteed income you can budget far better than if you get the odd one-off big payment here and there. It's why the only charity I donate to gets a monthly sum, rather than a token bit here or there from me. It's different for things like the Poppy Appeal, who do an annual fundraiser and kinda know when all their cash is coming in. For all the spectacular sums of money that ALS/MND charities are getting, they will have no plans for this and we may not get as much benefit out of it as you would think. Medical research is frightfully expensive, and IMHO a lot of this money could be better spent on palliative care for those sadly afflicted.
  20. They're okay, we tracked one at the weekend. Standard suspension is miles too soft, and even if you keep it on the boil it's lacking torque out of the corners. Goes and stops well enough, mind.
  21. Probably, but on the off-chance it's not (the poster might not know any better, or those choices are simply what his local tyre fitter has offered), I think it's worth mentioning at times.
