Too often. I've stopped saying "bless you" when people sneeze and started saying "How was your trip to Africa last week?" instead. Already had a few people turn their heads and back off
  3. Have you done everything else you can to make it go faster? Brakes, tyres, bracing, suspension, removing weight etc? I only ask as they get you large gains in performance for medium cash, tuning an NA engine will net you small gains for big cash. I agree with you, a good NA build would be my call too, but only as a last resort once I'd done everything else.
  4. Well, had an offer on my house yesterday which we accepted so I'm a little bit closer.

    I've got that book too
  6. Bloody hell, this car is a bit of a handful now, especially in the wet on new 888s on the rear So much better on track now though, it really did need the extra oomph. I've spent about 50% of the day sideways though, both in the MR2 & the Impreza + Elise + RX8 that I blagged drives in as well Vids to come next week when I get a chance. F*cking brilliant fun though, loved it.
  7. You might get to drive the Ver. 1 but when did they tell you could test drive the 2015 model? They have one on order down in Romford allegedly, although I don't have an exact date yet. They reckon about a couple of weeks though.
  8. Sooooo lovely Anyway, to hijack this thread I'm now test driving both the v1 and v2 Nismos.
  9. I dunno, y'know. I either want massive burger or massive steak.

70% less population, you say? Mainly in over crowded areas? I'm not seeing a downside. I work in an airport, I don't even give it a second thought. It's scary stuff, but there is nothing I can do about it so I won't worry just yet. Besides, I've seen Outbreak: Just wait for Dustin to find Betsy and we'll all be fine.
  11. It's the 31st, we're having the meal a couple of days after the anniversary so we can be out when the trick or treaters start. Still can't decide between burger and steak. Every time I think I'm sorted, I think of the other then change my bloody mind!
  12. Tomorrow Just got to the hotel now, after a painful trip up. My idle control motor is iffy, so if you press the clutch when the revs are any higher than 2k RPM it'll stall. Means you have to engine brake until below that, then press the clutch down. Now, you try remembering that in stop start traffic: Bearing in mind when a car is about to stall you hit the clutch, I have to try and remember to do the opposite! Need to get that sorted ASAP, or my starter motor will hate me.
  13. Woooo my lexan rear screen for the hardtop arrived today! Just need to find some time to wrap the roof in black vinyl, and then I'll get the screen stuck in place. It's got to shed a good few kgs from up top, can only be a good thing.
  14. Well yeah, there is that too. How on earth they let the GP2 cars sound that much better than the F1 cars, I'll never know.
  15. If you want fast canopy cars, go watch LMP races. I you want fast open top cars, you watch F1,
  16. I've probably got enough for both of you, tbh Shoot me a PM next week to remind me, and I'll have a look.
  17. Likewise, that 360CS that held me up at Anglesey just made me lust after one a bit more, that noise
  18. I have some spare 350 ones, if you want them?
  19. Allan Simonsen died at LM last year in a fully enclosed and caged Aston Martin. It happens, regardless of what kind of car you're driving. It's a sport that always will, and always should, contain risks. If you engineer the risk out you remove the excitement.
  20. They don't, LMP cars can run open cockpit if they want. They choose not to because of the 24hr races, and how uncomfortable it makes it for the drivers that they end up going slower due to fatigue. They also bizarrely still need to have space for a mythical second seat too! F1 should always be open cockpit. That's half the charm.
  21. Excellent, I'm glad it's not just me then! I was only thinking about this as I thought I'd lost the key to the MR2 last night when I was packing for Donington this weekend, and in the middle of my panic wondering how I was going to get the wheels off to get the tyres changed that I realised just how utterly pointless is was having them on a track slag.
  22. The more I think about it, the more I think they are. They were designed to stop people nicking your very expensive and brand-new alloy wheels, back when everything came on steel ones. These days every single car (give or take) has alloys, so unless you're running really desirable M or AMG wheels I reckon locking nuts are more hassle than they're worth. How many times do we see people on here with stuck nuts, or lost keys? Is the risk of having your standard wheels nicked that high that we need to give ourselves the ballache still? It's always a faff, trying to find the key and then transposing it across to various wheels when changing them, along with the risk of damaging the nuts themselves. I'm kinda thinking that unless you've got £3K worth of wheels on, you're better off running standard nuts all round.
  23. It's all about the ethos of the series. F1 was (and in my opinion, always should be) fast, light, open cockpit, open wheeled single seaters.
  24. That's the first decent-looking car I've ever bought! Most of the time I buy the ugly cars that are dynamically better/quicker: MR2 (over MX5), VXR220 (over Elise 111R), 350 ragtop (over S2K).
  25. That comment was made in general though, not between a Zed and a Skoda.
