  1. A lot of people think that they can just run anything through a filter on PS or instagram and hey presto, one fabulous shot! Er, no. It doesn't work like that.

FWD scrabble wagon, no ta. Not really big enough, either.
  3. This is the thing: It may look simple, and if you know your way around it is, but trying to choose the right PSU can be a PITA. Last time I bought one it was a 80 Plus Gold 500w which should've been more than enough, but it was a bag of crap (£60 worth of crap, mind) and I then ended up buying an £80 750w one which eventually worked. Still going, in fact, it's for my NAS. So many connectors, and trying to make sure it fitted, and getting it in correctly... Ball ache. EDIT: Still, doesn't matter now as it's fixed, nice one!

I just want to buy another car Was kinda thinking we could flog the Mini then Jo could have this, and I could use it at weekends. I like the idea of a Q car, give it a remap and some sorted suspension and I reckon it could be quite a laugh. I have the truck still for the uber dull stuff, I was kinda trying to think of the most fun but still relatively frugal petrol practical car I could: I cannot think of anything other than the E61 335i. I'd love a Macan, but not at current prices and they're a long way from dropping. Cayenne is too big, Audi RSeses too pricey, and then I run out of ideas.

Couldn't have a diesel for any kind of fun car, sorry bud On the occasion that I was out in it by myself, I'd want to make use of a good engine and a decent chassis. In a fantasy world I'd have a V10 M5 estate, but that's looking increasingly less likely Meh, just looking around and was quite surprised by just how affordable and awesome the E91 cars are. Manual 'box too! Would still rather have a Zed next though

Diesel, no ta! Not in this lifetime, anyway. If I'm picking a car for purely practical reasons then I'd get a much cheaper Mondeo diesel or summat. The BMW would at least be good to drive.

It is, and that's kinda what I like about it! I have the loud shouty car, I'd quite like a subtle barge that I can chuck stuff in & kids eventually. Probably separate the two, though.
  8. It's a Holden, and more power than an M5. What's not to like?

It's an estate, and not a V8, so definitely an old man car
  10. ...because I think I really want this Practical, quick enough, subtle, manual 'box, respectable fuel economy, what's not to like?
  11. They can just go pop anytime, bit of dust in the wrong place or a weak connection, anything like that. It should just be plug and play, I'd be amazed if you needed drivers or anything if it's USB.
  12. Tbh, if you're not computer-savvy then I probably wouldn't bother trying to save the main box. Even knowing what I'm doing, changing a PSU can be a task in itself, never mind trying to diagnose a bust motherboard or RAM or CPU or whatever else has gone. My advice would be to start looking for a new one, even a cheap one will probably do you by the sound of it. I use https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ these days for both desktop and laptops, and they're good as gold. They keep some pre-built stuff in stock too. You can then just plug your old external drive in, and away you go.
  13. He didn't say which New Year...
  14. Nah, I can't see it: You'd have the same situation we have now with the 370Z, the TT and the Boxster. Put the specs on paper and the 370Z is the winner, but people are still paying more and buying the premium slower version. I totally agree with you though, there was a huge gap in the market for that car, and the swap was so simple in terms of engineering it really wouldn't have cost them that much to develop it.
  15. There are two issues: Early cars had oil ring problems which caused hot oil to pass onto the precats, which in turn broke up and got sucked back in and knackered the rings more which cause more oil to pass etc. The other problem is that the precats were made of very cheap ceramic material, and tended to break up very easily on their own. They then got sucked back in, etc. FL cars don't have the ring issue, but they'll always have the precat one. 2ZZ option would've been useless, at the time the MR2 was already more expensive than the MX5 and was much less practical, no-one bought them at the price they were up at and a 2ZZ would've been at least £5K more. No-one would've bought that either! Well, you and I would, but Toyota would've lost a fortune on it. If the TTET kit had been out with the FL then that would've helped, but it didn't launch until just before they stopped selling the car, and even then only in a handful of places.
  16. Ah, but did you remove the precats Codders? I'm guessing oil ring failure then. Shame, but not uncommon sadly. I had to write to head office to get my manifold changed on a FL car, as my local dealer wouldn't cover it.
  17. It's rubbish. I've seen some really big guys (25 stone plus) in cars on track, and I've yet to see one of them resting his arm on the door. I mean, I could forgive him that if everything else was fine (after all, if it works then so what?), but he's a driving calamity on track.
  18. Kinda what I figured. I really should have a drive in one, out of curiosity what kind of MPG were you getting?
  19. How barge-like are they? Really wallowy and not that quick, or are they actually pretty sporty for what they are?
  20. In terms of who I find technically superb, then someone like Mark Knopfler would get my vote. In terms of someone who has a distinctive tone and can really make a guitar sing, then Slash or Joe Perry (criminally underrated!). However, in terms of someone who actually inspired me to pick up a guitar and start playing, I would go with Kurt Cobain. Whilst he was a better guitarist than many give him credit for (probably due to the simple nature of a lot of Nirvana songs), he also knew how to play with a passion and an intensity that made him compelling to watch and listen to.
  21. Hopefully, have Lewis giving Nico the finger
