  1. If conditions are good, then there is no reason not to drive at the limit. To not do so is discourteous driving IMHO. @Zeus: Sounds like speed had very little to do with the accident, if he didn't even brake. Again though, it's going to go down as a speed-related accident and just add to the stats, which is a shame. Glad you're okay though now, that must've been horrendous.

    Why oh why

The ND '5 will be available as a tintop in a year or two. Boxster and TT sell bucket loads with soft tops.
  3. Sorry, but I just don't see it. I've said before that I prefer a pretty game to one that chases 60fps every time. 30 is plenty for me. Perhaps I could see the difference between them if it was the same game running side by side, but different games on the same engine back to back? Nope. Nowt between 900 and 1080 either, I don't sit that close to my telly.
  4. Need? Nah, probably not. I wouldn't get one without though. I use my Kinect so much, and when it works it's wonderful. Doesn't matter who fire it up, it'll recognise either me or Jo and show the appropriate set of tiles. Being able to control media playback without having to dig out the controller (I don't have a remote) is stunningly simple, and I would say worth the cost alone. Kinect Fitness is brilliant with it, as you can see what it's recognising in terms of body structure and gets you to improve your posture during exercises. I'm not tired of powering up or down by voice either! In terms of games though, don't bother as it's simply too poorly supported to be worth it for that alone.
  5. I wouldn't hang around, put it that way.

    Why oh why

Or because TT Or because Z4 Or because SLK
  7. Any decent fabricator should be able to make you a bar that bolts to the stock seatbelt mount points. I was going to get one done for my old car, but then I decided to sell up instead. You'd lose a little seat travel I think, but nothing major. As far as I know, there are no bars like you're after on the market for the ragtop.
  8. The Crew annoyed me so much, I downloaded FH2 D1 Super Duper Edition tonight instead Soooooo much better in every conceivable way. Except that when driving off road events, you're basically punished if you use the bumper cam, as you can't see naff all Still brilliant though, really enjoying it. I was playing some FM5 whilst waiting for this to come through, and back to back I can't tell the difference between 60fps and 30fps in the slightest.
  9. The biggest downside to PC gaming is the initial cost for a decent gaming rig. Well, and the fiddling involved to get everything working perfectly sometimes. Cheaper games helps though
  10. I'd have bought that.
  11. There hasn't been a good looking console since, well, ever. Master System 2 was pretty funky. Or the Xbox dev console, that was stunning but never released.
  12. The main bit it's lacking is the fun part.
  13. I only asked as I remembered reading about a few issues when it came out last year, but then heard nothing so assumed it was a dodgy batch and a one off. It was only when my colleague had a little rant about his controllers that it jogged my memory, so thought I'd ask. I wonder if it's a usage issue, or down to how some people hold it? Just seems odd how it's a few people rather than everyone.
  14. Any other PS4 owners had controller issues? One of the guys I work with has been through three warranty replacements in under 4mths, for failure on the thumb sticks.
  15. Lewis would've had that apart from that lock up. Silly mistake, shame. Fingers crossed he punts them both off on turn 1
  16. Good point fella If you do like gaming with mates, just get the same one as them. If you don't already have mates to play online with, then there's a good Xbone community here and I think the PS4 lot are doing great things with Destiny as well
  17. I've played both, but I own an Xbone. If you want driving games, then the Xbone is the only choice. FH2 and FM2 are better than anything else out there right now. Project Cars is coming to both next year, and will probably be 1080/60 on PS4 and 900/60 on Xbone. In isolation, you'll never tell the difference. PS4 is more powerful, no question. Is it that much more that it's blatantly obvious? Not unless you look at the numbers on Digital Foundry, or the odd occasion like with Tomb Raider, no. XBL is a more robust system than PSN, but PSN gets you MUCH better free games than XBL. MS are much better at OS updates than Sony. The Xbone OS is miles ahead of where it was last year, and wees all over the PS4 for media stuff. Controllers are a personal thing. The PS4 has the touch pad and lights though, which is cool. I still prefer the Xbone pad, but they're both great. Separate feedback on the Xbone pads is nice. In terms of other games, the PS4 has many more smaller indy games. A lot more. If that bothers you, then that's an easy choice. Tbh, there's less in it now than there was a year ago. I'm much more comfortable with my choice now that I was, as the games have justified it for me. That said, if you only want to play the big AAA multiplats then definitely go for the PS4, as its graphically stronger. If you want racing games, or the cheaper console, get the Xbone.
  18. I didn't even mention the cut scenes, or the voice 'acting'.
  19. I hope they fail dismally. All they want to do is to be able to run in AD, take the prize money for finishing the championship, then go under. It's shockingly transparent, and a dirty way of financing things.
  20. My god there's some chavved up exotica there!
  21. Wuss. Free food should never be passed up.
  22. So yeah, I'm not mad keen on it.
  23. I'd already played the earlier PC beta which wasn't very good, but I did expect to see some progress. I went in with low expectations anyway, and tbh just fancied playing something arcadey for a couple of hours on a Friday night that I knew would be limited in scope. What I got was something that I would never pay a single penny for. Let me list the things I didn't like about the game: The 370Z was as twitchy as an Elise on mixed tyres The Mustang handled like an Elise from the factory i.e. understeer city The Camaro handled like a boat. Not a metaphorical boat, but like an actual boat. The first two cars are not mid-engined. They should not handle like one. The graphics are poorly lit, poorly shadowed, and poorly coloured. The streets are nigh-on empty of anything. You may see the odd person or a bin. Traffic density is retarded. NOS is useless, as you use it and all it does is spin the wheels up and leave you banging off the limiter. You go slower if you use it. Hit a car square-on and you get a replay Burnout-style. The game then resets itself like you never had a crash and you're left with zero momentum, and as the screen goes back during this you lose your positioning. All this time, the car you're chasing to takedown (and there's a few of these) is getting away. One crash and you'll NEVER catch them up, as no matter what car you have or they have, they're always MASSIVELY faster. Tinniest engine sounds in a long time. They make GT sound lifelike. Upgrading your car does nothing. Seriously, my 2011 'Stang went from lvl10 to lvl63, and it felt like the exact same car. Pop up, pop up, pop up. You get to drive a 4x4 Baha buggy-like Cayman. Sounds great, but it's uncontrollable as the steering feel is zip. Oh yeah, and you're supposed to takedown another vehicle whilst leaping over dunes in your uncontrollable car that will randomly spin as you land, meaning you'll never catch the guy up as per the above. Detroit felt like Dagenham. Now, I've never been to Detroit, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't make me think of Dagenham. I could go on. I even tried making a Crew but either the system isn't on or it's broken to hell, and the matchmaking just timed out. This is honest to god the worst game I've played for many years. If this was demoed in this state to any other publisher, they'd tell you to get lost and stop wasting their time. Do not pre-order. Do not be tempted to pick this up thinking it will be better by release. It won't. It's so horrendously broken, nothing short of starting again will save this.
  24. Knowing Grundy, his safe word would be "GIVE IT TO ME HARDER!".
