  1. Sounds very possible. Get the wheel up in the air and give it a wiggle
  2. Such a pleasant human being aren't you. When people show a modicum of common sense, you'd be surprised how accommodating I can be. My sympathy started to die a little while ago though if I'm honest, as I'm starting to see how you ended up in this situation in the first place. Look, I do feel sorry for you but ultimately there is no-one to blame here but yourself. We can, and will, assist you as much as we can as a club, but at some point you're going to have to start taking some of the advice that's being offered. Either strip the car and sell it, mothball until you've saved enough to fix it, or borrow enough to repair and get it running. Forget courts or big mates, they won't help you. You could always try and flog it on again and just hope that someone does what you did, i.e. not ask too many questions. I would hope that you wouldn't do that though, nor do I think it's even crossed your mind.
  3. I can't. I feel it's my obligation to help the terminally stupid
  4. No, it's not! The seller is NOT a car expert, and as such you cannot rely on his diagnosis. Maybe he did put oil in and the knocking went away, because he doesn't know any better that the engine is fubared at that point. YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE QUESTION. Because you didn't, that's 100% your fault and you have ZERO comeback to him. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The seller is under NO OBLIGATION TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG WITH THE CAR, it's 100% your responsibility to ask the questions BEFORE you pay for it. OP, go back to the last page and read what Comrade wrote. That still applies. There is no onus on the seller here to do anything at all: You bought the cheapest possible Zed you could find and didn't check it out, so now you've found out why buying the cheapest one isn't always the best idea. Move on, learn the lesson, don't get caught again. Ay ay ay, this topic is starting to do my head in.
  5. You think Audi couldn't get one anyway?! Blimey, they're desperate for teams right now and Bernie would never turn down a major manufacturer. He'd rather kick someone else out, like Caterham or the Marussia entry or Hass (if they even get off the ground).
  6. No chance. Definitely wouldn't be next year anyway, and even if they could they'd want their own car, engine & team: There's nothing really salvageable from Caterham for the big boys.
  7. If budget is allowing, I'd have to say that I'd go for the BMW. The 35i is a seriously quick car. A DCT will always be so much quicker than a slushbox, however good that slushbox may be. The 370Z auto is okay as far as they go, but it's not a patch on the latest ZF 'boxes much less a proper dual clutch. Which audio system are we comparing the 370 to in the Z4? They have a couple of options.
  8. Nope, that's even more your fault: You knew there was an issue and you still bought the car! Fit for purpose has no place in private sales.
  9. And if the seller turns up, it's an open and shut case and the OP loses the court fees. Not a good idea.
  10. You just SORN the car, the refund is made automatically.
  11. I'm flicking between GTAV and ACU on a daily basis now. Both very enjoyable, and both making sure that my purchase of FH2 was a bit of an impulse thing that'll probably not get played again It just feels like the current gen is starting to come alive now, with DAI out as well. Still glad I went in on day one though.
  12. Well well, my NCB letter did turn up today, so fair play to them. It also has near enough the right amount of years on it, so I think we can consider this put to bed for now. As I said earlier, I wouldn't not use Sky again as they gave me a good quote with the cover I wanted, however I'd make sure I was more insistent with them when it's time to leave.
  13. You can pass with 100 on some engines in some conditions, but it's very hit and miss.
  14. We have to wear hard hats when working on site at the airfield. Far be it from me to point out that the only thing likely to hit us is a 737, and that a hard hat isn't really going to help matters in that case...
  15. And that it's the right kind of harness, else he's got about 5mins before he loses his legs.
  16. Thank god he has his hard hat on though, just in case! /sarcasm See, there's nothing inherently unsafe about that. The ladder is of sound construction, it appears to be at the right angle, doesn't appear to be any wind, and he has three points of contact.
  17. Unlikely to be misrep, more likely to be classed as puffery as in Carlill vs Carbolic Smoke Ball Co.
  18. *facepalm* No. That could still be interpreted as threatening. For absolute clarity, THE SELLER DID NOTHING WRONG HERE. Well, morally maybe if he knew, but if he didn't know and the OP just got unlucky then that's life. I have massive sympathy for the guy as he's taken it really well, but if you buy the cheapest possible Zed you can with patchy history and don't do as many possible checks as you can, you're very likely to get bitten.
  19. I'm sure they're great for businesses, but for the end user they're utterly appalling. Lack of cards left when delivery is missed, lack of attempting delivery in the first place, poor communication from staff when trying to arrange collection/delivery, just generally not a pleasant company to deal with.
  20. Neither did I, until I tried to leave
  21. Not sure what it's like now, but I had a great day. Really encouraged to push the car, to make it slide as much as possible.
  22. I actively avoid any person or company that chooses to use Hermes or CityLink. Both utterly dire couriers. If you use DPD, I shall make many purchases from you.
  23. Very bad idea. If it pops a rod through the block then you're going to leave a trail of oil down the motorway, which leaves you open to the very real possibility of killing someone.
