Horrible stuff. Goes p*ss thin when warm, gives about as much lubrication as a crusty old sock. So yeah, not keen.

Mixing oils for a top up isn't as bad as running low on oil, I wouldn't worry too much as long as it's a decent quality one i.e. not Magnatec. 5w-30, 5w-40, 0w-30, 0w-40, 10w-40, anything around there will be fine.

The Pumpkin: 3 Month Sprint Build - *Sprint Complete*
Ekona replied to Pritchard's topic in Member Build Projects
Missed this earlier, but don't straddle those bumps: You're doing all sorts of damage to the suspension and your alignment, even if you 'barely clip it'. Think about it: Suspension is designed to go up and down, up and down, all day long. It's quite happy doing that. It's not meant to have any play pushing outwards, and that's how you get increased wear and tear, along with knocking your alignment out. Just drive over the bump with one side of the car, then alternate if there's room or if you feel like it. I never even thought about it until I spoke with Chris Franklin at Center Gravity, who schooled me on the error of my ways. He seriously knows his stuff, and charges enough for his knowledge too! Sucks about the body kit, I take it that it's a mile out? -
Not just you. Like a bean can. I'm all for loud exhausts, but that sounds extreme and with no tone to it.

 How can anyone find that anything other than hilarious?!
-
Which makes it funnier  Admittedly as someone earlier said, if the victim is a baby or a very pregnant lady or a very old person then I don't think that would be funny in the slightest. Every one else is fair game.
-
Lol, sorry mate but that's quite funny

Stop making it look daft then, and I'll stop mentioning it There's being unique (I get that, as I've always gone for the non-obvious choice in cars in the past: VX vs Elise, MR2 vs MX5, convertible 350 vs coupe 350) and then there's just being stubborn and bodging things. Now, if you'd done the bodywork mods first with the principle that you'll get the wheels ASAP then I'd actually understand that, as although it would still look a bit silly with wheels that far under the arches it would've been what I would class as 'the right way round'. Being independent doesn't always mean you have to ignore common sense. But you're only a kid, so I guess you'll learn that in time. Anyways, you're probably right, there's no need to me to pass comment so often so I apologise for that. I wasn't being personal about it, I just struggle to see the logic in your approach is all. So what body mods are you going to do to accommodate those wheels? Will rolling alone do it, or are you going for some bolt-on extensions or a whole new wide-arch kit? The latter would look good, I think.

i disagree Senario 1 : i want this design/brand of wheel Senario 2 : i want 400bhp ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fix 1: bolt something that wasn't designed to be there from factory Fix 2: bolt something that wasn't designed to be there from factory Nope. Scenario 1: i want this design/brand of wheel Scenario 2: I want 400bhp Fix 1: Buy wheels with the correct offset to fit. Fix 1.5: Buy wheels with dodgy offset and have to correct in other ways Fix 2: Buy Zed-specific turbo kit Fix 2.5: Buy non Zed-specific kit and have to correct in other ways
-
Not essential, but a majority of the time folks have to cut their old ones off to be able to fit the new ARBs,so I figure you might as well just budget for them in the first place. Sounds like you got lucky with yours
-
Spacers are not a performance upgrade, so I wouldn't fit them if I was you. Eibach ARBs are very good, and definitely worth the cost. Don't forget new drop links, too. I run the BC Racing dampers and springs on my MR2, and on full soft they are easily comparable to stock, i.e. soft and floppy. If the Zed ones are the same, I would expect you to be able to run a setting that is more than compliant enough on the roads, whilst allowing you to stiffen them when you want to. In reality you'd normally just find the right balance and stick with that.

Again, I agree 100% with Comrade on this. Do you have any proof that the potholes caused both punctures, i.e. you had someone come out to repair both tyres on the spot as you couldn't drive the car? I'm thinking that unless you have that, any claim could fail as they will simply say that the car park was very busy (by your own admission) and no-one else suffered punctures that day, so on the balance of probabilities you got the punctures somewhere else. At least, that's what I'd say if I was them.

You won't get better than this

It doesn't take much for that stuff to react with the wrong kind, and Minis are particularly sensitive (we have one) so it's not something I'd be mucking around with. -
Probably get them in the chav section at Halfrauds easy enough, I'd have thought.
-
Holy crap, that's amazing!

Flush ASAP, that is a disaster waiting to happen! Seriously, don't drive the car if you possibly can, and get that out of there.
