  1. So you took your car back to Shell, informed them of the issue, showed them your receipt and asked for a refund? If you topped up with a small amount, unless it was pure water you put in then I'm loathe to believe the fuel was the problem.
  2. I'll try and get some GoPro drive by footage soon, at least then I'll know what it sounds like too!
  3. No way in hell I'd be driving on them. Garages aren't allowed to do that for a very good reason, and I strongly suspect that your insurers wouldn't approve either. Give them a call to confirm that, if you're brave enough. Also, read the Sticky about mixed tyres too.
  4. Ooh that's superb Lexx I've still got two resonators I can remove if I want a bit more, but I think you can get away with it a bit more on the VX than on a BMW. Still tempted now though!
  5. Well, if having a four and a half litre vee eight engine that sounds like Thor's orgasm is chav, then pass me my Burburry baseball cap and a bottle of Lambrini.
  6. Cheers guys I was a little disappointed when I first started it up, but within about 50 miles it had settled down to the perfect tone. There's a hint of rumble when pootling along at 70, but it's only just Thete so not completely ruined the GT aspect of the car. I can confirm it sets off car alarms n a multi storey car park though
  7. Oh hell yes. Sounds like bloody thunder, that does! I didn't really want a quad tip as it can look a bit M6-wannabe, but the stock tips are fractionally oval and most aftermarket tips are either very oval (looks silly) or circular (too small or too chav). The bumper had to be cut a smidge to fit, but it's worth it. There's a huge deep bellow between 2k and 4k rpm, and then a roar as you chase the redline. When I first saw the guy who made it for me he asked what I wanted in terms of tone, and I just said "muscle car". He got it spot-on, he really did. And please ignore the smokiness, that was taken just after I'd washed it from a cold start too. Silly place for me to stand
  8. Rome is amazing, so much history to see but you'll need a few days to do it justice. I'm desperate to go back there, it's just stunning.
  9. Those doors are a completely different colour in those pics. I know they didn't get a spray (why?!), but they still stand out a mile. Go get 'em done mate, that really detracts from what is otherwise a lovely looking car.
  10. I would not expect the gearbox on a 370 to be quite as good as that on a Z4 (E89, yes?), but then neither would I expect it to feel too far off. I wouldn't worry too much about that side of things, if you're happy with your current Z then the new Z will be more of the same
  11. Didn't see that coming, great result!
  12. Well, it's looking good for the Welsh so far!
  13. Not really, no. Approved trader really only means who is prepared to pay the most money for the right to say that, it doesn't mean that your service as a consumer is going to be any better
  14. Pretty much, but it's really like this: Customer buys product, product turns out to be faulty. Customer returns product. Trader then gives refund or sorts replacement. He then becomes the customer with whoever he purchased it from: That may be the manufacturer, or it may be another supplier. They then have to refund or replace, and so on and so forth. They cannot tell them to do one, unless they're crooks and can hide from the law.
  15. They can send it to whoever they want, ultimately it's their responsibility to get it sorted.
  16. Just to be a pedantic PITA (I know, me?!), but that wouldn't matter here as the SOGA would override any manufacturer warranty at this point. Really, they're pretty much useless as your contract is with the person who sold it to you, not who made it. If it's non-compatible, then you are due a refund. But yes, I would only ever buy parts from a reputable dealer in this country: You only get bitten once to learn from that mistake.
  17. What a waste of time. People know it's illegal to use a phone, they'll just ignore it. Same thing with speed signs: You know the rule, but you do it anyway.
  18. More PCars stuff, PS4 this time but a better look at other stuff rather than the obvious: The HUD customisation looks superb, and very much welcome. I think the racing looks more positive in this, the physics look better, so I'm a little happier. I think the scenery in general is worse than F5 or DC, and tbh the regular driving when it's just daytime doesn't look any better than either of those titles: It's looks washed out and plain. The rain stuff still looks immense though.

  20. I know the stability uses the ABS to brake individual wheels, but I always thought the traction was done by spark cut as it always felt so incredibly harsh. Throttle body control could do that too though, so I bow to your superior knowledge on this one, thanks

  22. The 350Z I believe (and I do stand to be corrected on this one) will cut fuel at the rev limiter, but will cut the spark for the TCS.
  23. Yup, you've almost certainly accidentally clicked a filter by mistake.

Manufacturers are bound by the safety rules imposed by various bodies around the world, including the EU. Given that they have to have certain things like pedestrian crash zones etc, it's not surprising that a lot of stuff looks broadly the same. Pretty much the same as F1 give or take, they all look identical until you start looking at them very closely.
