  1. It told you the estimated despatch date when you ordered it
  2. PCV, Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. From wiki, 'cos I'm lazy: The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve is a one-way valve that recycles crankcase gases back into the engine to burn. A plugged PCV valve can result in a rough idle and poor mileage. Worse, it can cause costly oil leaks.
  3. Not me, not at those prices without trying first. What was your delivery estimate when you bought? They're all saying either 4-6 weeks or June atm (except for the Edition which is July).
  4. You'll want much more toe out at the front, at least 1.5 if not more. Tad of toe in at the rear like about 0.2, then as much camber as you can get at the front and the -3 at the rear should be fine. For the shocks, drop the rears back about 3-5 clicks. Very rarely do you ever want shocks the same stiffness front to rear on a track car, save maybe on a very wet day. If that doesn't sort it, I'll eat my hat
  5. Eagle F1s are good tyres, I'd be happy with those. Pirellis are sh*t. But yeah, if those are an idea of your budget then you're mad to consider anything other than the MPSS.
  6. What are your current geo settings? What number of clicks are you running on the dampers?
  7. Unlikely. What oil? Any other symptoms? Are you 100% sure you didn't overfill it?

That's crazy then, the 458 is a much better car in every way I can think of. It's even got a huge boot! I guess if you don't want to have to work for the performance then the turbo probably does suit better. No way I could trade that V8 and that chassis for a 911 though, and coming from me that's saying a lot!
  9. 350 ragtop is ugly as hell with the roof up. It looks like the front end designers didn't meet with the rear end designers until 5 mins before the car was given the go-ahead. 370 ragtop is one of the best looking roadsters in the last 30 years. 350 interior is dull but plain, simple, classless. 370 interior looks like they just threw as much stuff in there as possible, and to hell with cohesive design. 350 coupe is a bit slab sided, but works well within the footprint. 370 coupe looked waaaaaay too fussy at first, but I think it was just ahead of it's time. I love it now, apart from the Nismo mk1 which looks like the basta...*snipped to prevent yet another huge anti mk1 argument* All IMHO, YMMV, etc. All good solid cars, for me the 350Z HR is the pick of the bunch though.

A 991TTS will make a 458 feel very slow, I guess that's probably why he went for it. Sounds like he needs the extra space too, if he had a Cali before hand. At £150K brand new, what else is there? 911, 570, R8...?
  11. I'm never going to sit next to him, just in case I get pregnant.

No, I agree with you, for the money I'd want something proper thrilling too, but I can see why a lot of people would go for the 911. At £150k, there's a lot of used super cars out there that would flick my switch far more than either the 911 or the 570S.
  13. And here's a reason not to use E-Sure ever again Go find a local body shop and get a quote, then decide whether you want to go with them yourself if it's less than £500, or if it's above just go with who E-Sure want you to use. Tbh mate this is only ever going to go 50/50 at this point so either way you're out of pocket, sadly. I'd be tempted just to go through the insurance now, as since you've informed them about the accident you now have to declare that next time round anyway.

Oi, I saw it first! The days of the impractical super sports car are long gone thankfully. As cool as the Countach is, zero rear visibility and a cramped hot cockpit aren't much fun. What you want is something that you CAN use every day, something that won't kill you when you get stuck in traffic in Monaco, and something that you can fit the week's luggage in for your trip to Le Mans every year.
  15. I'll donate too, as long as I get a go.

Plenty of people do, that's partly why the 911 is so successful. I bought the 911 over the R8 partly because of the complete lack of storage space in the Audi. These things do matter, especially when touring.

    Guilty as charged!
  19. It's because it matters not a jot. Some people just get really anal over stuff like this, when it makes two halves of f*ck all difference.
  20. Drove a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Is that manly or not? One hand V10, on the other hand hairdresser convertible. A generous 6/10?

Some people do, yes. Look at the people on here who own a 350Z just because it's different. Some people just buy the best car for them, and to hell what others think. The 570 would have to be a very special drive to tempt me ahead of a 911TT. It's not just the performance, it's also the practicality, and a 2+2 4WD sports car is a very practical thing indeed. That said, I wouldn't actually buy either, as at that price I'd be hanging off a used 458 instead. Bearing in mind options, you're looking at the McLaren being the wrong side of £160K I suspect.
  22. If she does like it, then two things would happen: 1. The rest of my life WILL BE AMAZING 2. I will kick myself forever for wasting years when I could've known this
