    New wheels fitted.

I think you completely missed the point of what I wrote. 1. I wasn't questioning the size of the wheels, I was questioning the size of the tyres. When you mention package, this normally means you end up with the same size TYRES all round, which on the Zed leads to some decidedly dodgy handling traits. I wanted to make sure that you weren't putting undue risk on yourself. 2. Price has everything to do with the above point. If you spent £2000 on wheels then another £500 (likely less than that, given you wouldn't be paying for crap tyres) is peanuts into making the most of your purchase. As I said, what's the point having nice wheels if you skip off the surface and kerb them? 4 miles or 4 hundred miles a day, it matters not a jot when you have to avoid someone else being a knob. 3. My car was not bog standard, although granted it was close to that in that photo. I had extensive work carried out on the suspension, some bits under the bonnet, some ICE stuff, re-coated wheels, and bloody good tyres too. There's a thread on here where I detailed what mods I did and their effects, feel free to have a read through. 4. I have plenty of positive things to say about cars on here! People like you just choose to ignore them though. Of course you can do what you like, which is precisely why I was paying you a compliment by asking for opinions good AND bad. However, you decided to take that the wrong way and have now slithered back into the crowd of people who don't like to be told when they've made their car uglier. Now that's fine, as I've always said as long as the owner likes it that's all that matters, but don't get shirty just because you get an opinion you don't agree with. Blimey, some people really can get narky when someone's trying to both help guide them as well as paying them a compliment. Next time I shall just state they're fugly and not offer any positive points. Sheesh!
  2. I'm not so sure I read it that way. Barristers usually get appointed by solicitors anyway, so you'd still go to your regular solicitor in the first place and find out who they'd recommend. In all honesty. it seems pretty fair in what they're saying that they'll pay the cost of this if the barrister thinks that there's a reasonable prospect (that's a key term, btw, as I'd want to know exactly what they define as reasonable. 51%? 60%? 75%?), whereas if the barrister agrees with the insurer then that's down to you to pay. Insurance companies don't go 50/50 for no reason, they usually do this simply because the case is so grey that it could go either way in court. They have a duty to try and mitigate their losses, which means sometimes going 50/50. The costs part doesn't sound anything to do with this: Bearing in mind they've already said they have to agree with you on the barrister in question, then by that token they've already agreed the costs will be reasonable as they would do their homework and make sure it's not going to cost them £10K in fees! Other than that specific example, the clause could equally apply to when you get your own garage to do the work and they try and uplift the bill, or anything else where the insurance company don't have direct control over the final bill. To me, this reads as a good thing: In previous years, if the insurance company wanted to go 50/50 but you really didn't, you ultimately had no reasonable way forward to make them change their minds. They've now given you a very simple way to challenge them now, at your own risk if you're wrong. That seems a very fair thing to do, tbh.
  3. Always with no spacer.
  4. Really guys, I wouldn't lose any sleep over this at all. Your airbag is probably over ten years old now, if it hasn't broken yet then it's probably not going to.
  5. It's going to be around £500 to get it done outside of insurance at a guess, and since your excess will only be about £60 I think that's a no-brainer.
  6. That's what you get when you extrapolate!
  7. Dude, you know I'm never wrong. *smugface*

Package? Please don't tell me they're the same size all round... Also, what happens when you bin the car because you put crap tyres on it to save a few quid? I'm not hating on you fella, in fact I admire you for having the balls to put up a thread and invite the negative comments as well as the positive (too many people moan about that IMHO, so good on you) but I hate to see people risking their P&J for the sake of a couple of quid when they've just spent a small fortune on it. What wheels are they, and how much if you don't mind me asking?
  9. I'd have any R8 over the GT-R. In fact, give me a regular V8 with the manual 'box and I'd be perfectly happy. Except I wouldn't as you get zero storage space on those, so I'd go and buy a 911 instead But as a rule, involvement & usability > outright speed every time.
  10. Spain? I'd have thought he'd have gone to Ireland to pick up that dodgy engine...
  11. Well, better send me your address then Cemetery, I owe you some Curly Wurlys. Hands up, and all that. I just checked on the Meerkat site and there is now an option for glass claims that's never been there previously. This is new then, as it's never ever been an issue in previous years.
  12. You don't need to get anything, just ring Autoglass or whoever and they take care of everything for you.
  13. 100% I can promise you that it doesn't count as a claim. If I'm wrong, I'll buy you a box of Curly Wurlys to say sorry.
  14. Have you had a look under there to see if anything is broken, i.e. drop link or spring?

Utterly vile, and you put cheapy crap tyres on. What wheels are they?
  16. Another typo, perchance? You've had an issue with the car where the handling caught you out, but you feel you know the handling of the car well enough to disable the ESP? Would you like to read that back to yourself and ask yourself if you think that's the right thing to do? Just drive there a bit slower and a bit more sensible, to take into account the odd handling you've got, and you'll be okay. I certainly wouldn't be disabling the ESP.
  17. Mine was dead out of the box, replaced within 2 days by Thrustmaster. Excellent service, I thought
  18. Don't mix tyres, you get some very odd handling traits. Pop some F1s on the front, they're a great tyre.
  19. No idea! Tbh I wouldn't even give this a second thought.
  20. Get yourself the Ferrari GTE wheel, it's so much better than that 458 plastic POS.
  21. Alignment should be done annually at the very least, 6mths is preferable. You say the judder is when coming off the motorway as an example, can you be any more specific? I.e. are you braking hard, med or soft; what speed are you braking from; is it to a standstill; do you have any lock applied?
  22. You'll be notified by post if you are, don't worry.
  23. Unlikely, I think. Out of 6.5M vehicles affected worldwide, 5M are Toyota and 1.5M Nissan. It only affects 25K Toyotas in the UK, so extrapolating roughly that leaves about 8K Nissans over the entire range. Edit, beaten by Graham.
  24. Because, in theory, it's insulting to the people claiming benefits.
  25. Who are you with right now?
