They say they can’t issue refunds quick enough as there’s so many to do, which is probably partly true as there’s less staff to issue refunds (and you can bet the system isn’t set up to issue automatically), but even so many of these companies will be taking the mick. But how do you prevent against that? Apart from never opening the front door you can’t, so whilst it’s scary to watch something like that ultimately there’s nothing to be cautious of. The MO will be a slightly different compound to a regular one, but not so much as you’d notice. I’ve tried identical tyres in both N-spec (Porsche OE) and non N-spec, and I couldn’t tell any difference whatsoever.

FFS looks are irrelevant when it comes to tyres, they’re all bloody black!

Is it not just an evolution of the VQ series? I remember seeing some guff about it taking things from the R390, but only in the same way the four banger in the A45 takes some inspiration from the lump in Lewis’ car i.e. not very much!

I’ve had to grind excess material from the non-friction material parts of pads before to get them to fit. It’s just manufacturing tolerances, nothing to worry about unless something really really doesn’t fit, or you feel that what you do to make it fit will cause a safety issue. Happens with genuine parts as well as pattern ones.
