  1. Nice one Grundy on a great article I see so much of how I used to be in that, and god bless having more than one car these days!
  2. Why on earth would you be too scared to take your car?! That's the whole chuffing point! It's hardly downtown Beirut.
  3. I remember when this was all fields... No probs matey, any time. Let us know how you get on.
  4. That's a very good point, hadn't thought of that. Well noticed sir Also, high five for super Google-Fu skills!
  5. PCD is 5x108, and M14 x 1.5 if you want the bolt/stud size too. http://www.wheel-size.com/size/ford/s-max/2015/
  6. I'm not sure the exhaust is big enough Congrats on the purchase fella, plenty of updates on this please!
  7. They werent just for the Roadsters. They were an optional extra on top of the GT pack. On my 2007, if you went for the GT pack you got the black leather seats and you could pay an extra £600 (I think it was) to go for either the Frost Grey/Blue or the Alezan Orange. Both are an acquired taste, so a lot of people didnt bother. Where the Roadster seats are different is that they are vented, so the seat back has like a fishnet style material rather than being solid like on the coupes. So those seats in that car are Roadster specific then, just like I said?
  8. Not really. Check his insurance so you can't get stung for that as well, but if you're selling it for £3K and he's given you the cash then so what if he rides off with it? Do make a note of the time that he takes it out though, and get him to countersign, in case he gets pinged for speed.
  9. Depends. Do you want a game now, or sometime next year? If now, then PCars. If next year, AC. I'd wait for AC personally, unless you can get PCars cheap enough.
  10. I know, I even told them twice! No-one ever believes the OP when they say it wasn't them!
  11. Keep trying. It can take 10-20 goes to get a reading on that dipstick. Wipe every time, put it in both ways, spin it around. Just try everything basically, until you're sure you've got a proper reading.
  12. Agtlaw has just posted, and he's a proper lawyer on there who knows his stuff. Sounds reasonable.
  13. There's already a thread running over there. I started it for him, just to see what folks thought if they just got the facts. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=10&t=1559891&mid=88930&nmt=129mph+on+a+70mph+DC
  14. Definitely get the EML sorted first, even if it says that it's a cat below efficiency code doesn't actually mean that it's definitely the decats! Personally I'd want cats back on, and check that the airbag light does actually work and isn't just cut as that's another MOT fail. But yeah, get it for a good price and I'd say it's a decent car. Seats are very rare, and lovely!
  15. Is 130mph dangerous in and by itself? No, of course not. Is it dangerous on a track? A little, yes, but you have a lot of run off and specialist teams on hand and all the cars going in the same direction and expecting the speed. Risk is minimised. Is it dangerous on a UK road? Yes, I believe it is. The amount of variables and 'what ifs' push it in that territory, as you just multiply the risk by so much. Now I told a lie earlier, I have done big speeds on UK roads on the IoM. I still didn't touch 130mph, and they were on perfectly clear roads where I'd have been able to spot a copper with a gun, and other traffic is ready for you to be doing that speed. If you want to nail it, go there, it's a wonderful island.
  16. I'm torn between the Kermit FRS and the Blobeye.
  17. No, never to those speeds on any roads in the country. On roads where it's very easy to get caught, I will stick to the limit always plus 2-5mph over on the speedo (so 75mph, but 72mph in the real world). There is no fun to be gained from travelling at that pace on roads like that, where you have so many idiots around you and it's so easy for the police to catch you. Plus, fun isn't a straight line. Every time someone gets caught doing a daft speed in a nice car, or caught by a camera, it's just another reason for them to carry on putting cameras and speed traps everywhere. Not trying to stick the knife in, but situations like this make things worse for all motorists.
  18. Trouble was, you didn't see the copper: If you didn't see him, then what else could you miss? That's not me saying that, that's what they'll use against you, clear roads or not.
  19. Because it's all about how it looks. If you can show to the court that you've seen the error of your ways and sold your evil sporty car that gave you temptation and have bought a nice sensible car, they may look towards you more favourably. They shouldn't, but they do.
  20. That's crazy to speed on there mate, everyone knows the police love to sit along the A120 from start to finish, and that's a busy stretch of road too. Absolute insanity to do that kind of speed there. That's the top end of 4th gear! At nearly twice the limit, I'm not even sure a decent solicitor is going to be able to do much.
  21. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/oxfordshire/7679739.stm Granted, biker and footage and general arsing around rather than just speed, but I can't see you getting off lightly. If I had to guess, I'd say we're looking at a fine of a couple of grand, a ban of 8mths and have to take an extended retest.
