  1. Near super car level tuning options? What even is that?!?! I’m guessing you mean a remap will see what, 480-500bhp tops, maybe with an inter cooler upgrade as well? Like I said it’ll shift anyway, and yes that’s quick, but I think we’re a long way and many £££ and parts from hitting 700bhp+ aren’t we? Has hydraulic steering been confirmed? Excellent news if so, that’s a real bonus tbh. The point about analogue is that if most sales are auto and it’s a generic V6TT, how analogue is it likely to feel? I don’t know. Perhaps you’re right, and being an old car underneath could actually be it’s saving grace, bizarrely. Cost is everything here. If it fails to really take off in Japan then prices will always be high here I feel, then it’s just another unicorn with better options elsewhere.
  2. It’s a 20 year old chassis with a generic V6 with a couple of turbos strapped to it, a GPF and a regular slush box. No doubt quick in a straight line when it’s wound up, but I can’t see it being the peak of excitement in that guise. Manual may at least be more involving, but looks aside it’s not offering anything remotely different or interesting to tempt people from the existing competition. In fairness, there’s precious little out there that has a newer chassis and a similar power train configuration that’s very exciting either, so I can see what they’re aiming for.
  3. If you’re going to have a silly car, it needs to be in a silly colour!
  4. Isn’t Bayside Blue an R34 colour? Also, that car is in Wangan Blue according to the text, no idea if that’s a different name for the same colour.
  5. Bit odd keeping your cars under a big tent, but each to their own.
  6. That was trying to register a car in France without the V5, so something a bit different to what you’re after. Or that’s the most recent thread like that that I can think of, anyway.
  7. Nope, all data like that has to come from the manufacturer who will have done it years back. Can’t remember the exact name of the document now, used to be common many years ago when grey imports were a massive thing, not so much these days.
  8. Nah this is Nissan, they’ll keep it going for at least double that
  9. It’s all relative, compared with a modern turbo hot hatch then they’re not, taken on their own then I’d say they’re plenty quick enough!
  10. Nice to hear from someone who’s tried multiple setups, can I ask why that was? And what you found the difference (stock for stock, so equivalent geo settings) between them to be?
  11. Could be worn out pads if a calliper was binding, but just as easy could be a stuck stone. Get a few hard stops done to see if that solves it (in reverse too), or pop the wheels off and have a look at the pads themselves on the inside.
  12. Third result down on google: https://fusecheck.com/nissan/nissan-350z-2003-2008-fuse-diagram
  13. You might want to add in the time-stamps for when the Zeds are, as otherwise people are likely to fall asleep watching that before they turn up honestly, how did they manage to turn a bunch of cars at the track into such a snooze fest?!
  14. What have the DVLA said when you’ve spoken to them about it?
  15. I do like eibach stuff tbh, so they’d get my money. CG will be fine with everything else OEM, I think it’s more important you take a list with you of what you like about the handling, what you dislike and how you want it to feel through fast and slow corners, as well as in a straight line. Always going to be compromise somewhere, but being specific (it’s too pointy at low speed, it’s too snappy at the rear at high speed, it wanders all over the motorway etc) will allow them to fine tune it perfectly for you.
  16. You’ll need to get that sorted before going to CG, else it’s a waste of time if they can’t adjust everything fully.
  17. You can’t figure out what a car is like when you test drive it for a short time, but you can from random stranger’s opinions on the internet?! I’ll keep it simple. Yes they’re fun on B roads as they don’t feel that big. Yes, they’re nose heavy as you’d expect so you need a fair bit of space to be a hooligan. The gearbox is fine, not the best but it does the job. Z4 will be much less fun to drive, but the Cayman will be magnitudes better. Truth is, you’re going to have to drive one to find out if it’s for you. If the dealership won’t let you drive it where you want, then purchase from somewhere that will. FWIW I’ve had MX5s 1&3, driven a Cayman extensively as my brother had one, and driven a handful of 350s through ownership and friends. I’d happily have another 350 but for the horrendous fuel cost these days in comparison to my current mk3 MX5.
  18. Now that’s a shame about the test drives, albeit understandable in the current climate. Their test route is absolute genius, and all within about 10 mins of the workshop
  19. Some Revups can burn a fair bit of oil. Most don’t. That’s about the sum of it. Not sure it’s something I’d worry about particularly, esp if the rest of the car is sound.
  20. It sounds like to me that ST are offering a “simple” geo, whereas I know from experience that CG go into a lot more detail when checking the car over. Of course you’re going to pay more for that service, so really it’s up to you. FWIW a day at CG is a hell of a learning experience too, the guys are more than happy to involve you in every step along with letting you wander around the workshop while they’re doing it (should you so desire). In my two days there I learnt more about general suspension/alignment workings than years of reading and prior experience had taught me.
  21. Just over £100 in it, I’d still go CG. But that is a good price from ST, not sure you’ll be disappointed whoever you choose.
  22. ^^^This. I buy the cheapest discs I can as they’re expendable, and buy the best pads I can. Currently running some no-name random discs and some CL RC5+ pads, and they’re absolutely immense.
