  1. Also, 3D TV is bloody awful. All the corners are out of focus unless you're looking at them, and that irritates the hell out of me.
  2. I still maintain that it doesn't matter what any expert (proper or armchair) tells you about TVs and which one is 'best', it's all down to the individual and their eyeballs. I directly compared (as in was in a shop and had the three TVs side-by-side, all running the same BD and 360 game) an LCD, and LED and a plasma TV. I ended up with the Samsung 7-series 55" LED, simply because it looked far superior to my eyes. I've no doubt if you ran off and did all kinds of scientific tests that the plasma would have better blacks and the LCD wasn't far behind the LED, but for what I wanted it for it fitted me perfectly. Whilst it's true that you could buy almost any telly and be happy with it as it'll never be seen next to another one when it's in your home, you really do need to get out there to any of the big chain shops (Comet, Currys ets) and physically see the difference in picture for yourself. Bring in one of your own BDs that you know really well and that will test the screen (so anything fast moving and dark is good, I used Independence Day) and make them put it on the screens for you. Do it at a quiet time and they will help you out as they want the sale, although you still don't have to buy from them in the end. Don't just buy a TV over the internet because all the reviews say it's good: It may well be, but it may not suit your eyes.
  3. Any other geeks think this was going to be a thread about SimCity?
  4. Did the police tell you he was over the limit then?
  5. +1 and it snot like they are hard to spot either bright yellow and lots of warning signs beofre them; Drive to Aberdeen some are blocked by signs until it's too late. Until it's too late? If you don't speed in the first place, then you don't need a warning sign. Tbh just about every speed camera ever is on a very dull, very boring road or one with a 30/40 limit. Why anyone would want to be speeding on those roads is beyond me.
  6. Trackday everytime. You'll get far more out of a day on track in your own car than you will out of 20 mins in a Ferrari, and you'll have just as much fun.
  7. iPad fail, no snow here Happy Christmas to all here at 350Z-UK!
  8. Nah, it's all down to the speed differential between the car that hits and the car recording. If the recording car was doing the state limit of 55mph and the other one was doing 100mph, then it's going to look twice as fast.

    Le Mans 2011?

I'm not going next year, first time for ages
  10. Anyone who drives the Ring with the intention of setting lap times on either a tourist day or a track day deserves to be shot. Drive it because it's fun and challenging, but treat it as a fast country road rather than a racetrack else you're going to come unstuck. Although I assume you've all driven the Ring before?
  11. Congratulations Jay, really pleased for you fella
  12. I really hope you're kidding... Trust me, you do not ever want to be caught doing daft speeds in France. Ever. Being escorted to an ATM, emptying your bank account of 750EU and then giving them your licence as well is just about the worst feeling in the world. Oh, and then there's the letters asking for more money when you get home... Really, it just ain't worth it.
  13. She-Wee for the missus
  14. As long as you don't try and do anything daft like put the roof down when it's frozen solid, absolutely no issues whatsoever. Keep the mechanism nice and lubed though just in case.
  15. I've used a similar sized jump pack on my Zed before, a couple of times and it was good as gold. Well worth the investment IMHO. Not sure how it's the AA and RAC's fault that you weren't prepared for winter and let the battery go flat
  16. I'd be worried, it hasn't had a service for 4 years! 4 year old oil is not something I'd want in any engine, much less a performance one.
  17. You'd be insuring and taxing it instead of the Zed and it will be cheaper on fuel so you'll actually be saving a fair wedge of cash there, although you're quite right about the risk of something going wrong. That said, you have that with all cars, and unless it's gearbox or engine related you could probably live with it on a shed.
  18. Lols
  19. DMS or Abbey for me. Abbey really are worth the trip IMHO, but I was always happy with the service I got at DMS. Bet that Gold service excludes anything with a 6-cylinder engine, like VW do with their cheapy servicing on their range.
  20. I'd seriously consider an Alfa if they designed the outside, inside and drivetrain, and then gave the whole lot to Lotus to make sure it was actually good to drive.
  21. Good to know, cheers matey
  22. Check your coolant levels.
  23. Stay away from the M25 and M20 at all costs, that's probably the best thing to do I'm only half-joking, most people are finishing work tomorrow so those roads are going to be absolutely manic. Other than that I'd just load up the iPod and be prepared to do a lot of waiting around, just in case. Hope it goes well for you though mate, have a good trip
  24. Bugger, I was hoping you were going to say that the 050s were pretty good in the cold, I want to make a trip down to Brighton on Friday Just another thought as well: Instead of the cost of snow tyres, buy a shed. If you buy right at the bottom it'll cost you a couple of hundred quid for a FWD bucket with skinny tyres that'll get you places the Zed will refuse to go, and you can sell it on afterwards for what you paid for it.
