But it was a Cartoon retro car anyway was'nt it - something from a 1970's kids cartoon! Still think you get a lot for your money. The only thing I really dislike about the new jag is the leaping jag logo on the boot - i does'nt look good - its not symetrical and spoils the look of the rear - and that thick chrome band also - oh otherwise I dont mind then - well maybe the bug eye headlights could have been a bit better - I will stop now... So 300C - black , black windows, bentley grill Oh Camero - yes looks da dogs - but its almost a carbon copy - I also like the Mustang butthe rear is a bit fat and too bit tail lights - there I go again - fussy fussy

Hey I love my peashooter exhaust - they are part of the character of it You know a Bug engine is tuned well when it has that nice whistle! I tried spacers once but it looked pants so did'nt bother. I also tried a Cherry bomb exhaust which is basically a pipe (bit like a K1) so imagine me leaving for work at 06:00 with that thing - I took it off the next day - you could hear me from 10 miles away! ee up happy days...

Nowt wrong with flagpoles! Sorry to hear that - best thing then is to get superglue and glue it on for next time! Or wire it to a 800000V Generator - robbing b****ds!

I agree with you mate - totally. I still hanker after a 300C in Black with Bentley grill with blacked out windows - just before I decided to buy a Zed and see the light .. I took a loan out was stood at the stealers forecourt on Saturday morning early looking at this black monster then suddenly my common sense kicked in and thought what the hell are you doing fool(In a Mr T accent!) drove to the bank and cancelled the loan! But I still love the look of them and the new alloys look better - they must have realised the flush polished alloys show up the corrosion after a week in the UK air so put some sandblasted spoked ones that look cool actually and yes the plastics are pants but sort of work and yes the diesel version is the one to go for (well for my 700 miles weekly trek) If they only did a soft top version!Imagine that!

Common problem folks dont worry about it. when they took the gearbox out last year for some recall work its been a lot quieter since - so probably not lining up properly and giggling / growling - sounds like cement swilling round a mixer with a few stones in it. Dont worry be happy and enjoy the Zed especially you softtop owners

Project? - Well yes its been waiting 19 years more like a retirement project at this rate! Here is a pic when I first moved into the new house. It was my second ever car I've always had Beetles and vans - they have all gone but I would never let this one go very attached to it This was another of my daily drivers - (yes while the white one was off the road!) Resprayed it in the back garden - turned out ok actually! Oh and I am not posting up the period 80's photo again - had enough stick last time round!

Confession time! I went to have a look at a couple as they are soooo cheap! But when I noticed most of it was made from recycled platsic Ice cream tubs I walked well away! Shame I think they look ok but I hate the gay teeny weeny flip up spoiler at the back!

Hi folks Posting this ad for my mate who is selling his 1973 Beetle. Its a 1200cc - Basically sound car not messed with (other than spotty cow seat covers! ) Seats are ok underneath btw. Obviously its a project : It will need a new bonnet but they are cheap enough as are wings and most other stuff! If you know your Beetles you know they are simple to work on and generally bullet proof - the engines always work even when stood as the flat 4 layout means there is always oil in the chamber unlike upright designs. All the welding had been done years ago. I did have a quick glance around it when I was taking pictures and its in surprisingly good condition underneath? If you want me to check it a bit more properly and post up more pics of the usual rot spots (I am a beetle man of many years ....so I know where they all are!) So if your interested and would like to find out more please PM me and I can organise a viewing etc for you. All he wants is £200 - which is a bargain considering how much they go for on fleabay and Volksworld etc! His other half wants rid of it as it was his ex's and hence he has'nt touched it in years! I'd have it myself respray in Interlagos Fire but I still have mine so cant justify 2 Beetles in the fold!

Yikes that looks good! Good price I am also very depressed about that! Just make sure its got FNSH and also that the recall from April /May time last year was done - remove the gearbox to replace the slave clutch cylinder and also the work on the control unit t- do with alarm - if not get them to sort it! When switching off after a run do you blip the gas? Or do you blip it when starting? If so dont as it throws unburnt fuel onto the cat . If not the fuel cutoff vave may be at fault?not end of world but get it checked next service

I agree with you. Either some muppet somewhere will push the button and finish us off or it will be like mad max or we will just carry on as we are and be dumbed down to by the press tv and worry about important things like what celebs are doing....
