  1. Nonononono! But you have to get another
  2. I wired a lead in for my MP3 player. Works really well
  3. Me too. I took mine out and did the MP3 trick which involved some open heart surgery. Obviously I put it back in the same car though
  4. I`ll be coming over from Newcastle on the Saturday at some point. I haven't decided exactly when yet but I only have to get to the Hotel (Dene) at some point, no real rush. I`ll catch the M6 at Carlisle so can adjust my time to meet up with anyone really
  5. ARB links is such a common cause of clunks on cars. You would think car mechanics would have been able to work that out a bit faster
  6. Oh dear God yes, I got caught by that one and was most unhappy!
  7. He has a manual throttle cable? Interesting... More details would be great if you have them. Manual throttle requires a full replacement aftermarket ECU. The stock ECU wouldnt know what to do with it! Pffhh Always a catch.
  8. Check remaining Tax Check service book and schedule Proper HPI check! Make sucking noise through teeth whilst shaking head and tutting a lot Try not to smile when hoofing it. All of the gearshift levers vibrate but I have tried a 'bad' one where it's enough to give you white-finger. At high revs, vibration shoudl be evident but not excessive to feel and barely visible to the eye.
  9. He has a manual throttle cable? Interesting... More details would be great if you have them.
  10. Back at ya me old pedigree chum, now Fe*K off!
  11. Warning, don't watch this if you are a Christian and offended by tasteless jokes about Jesus!
  12. I`m pretty familiar with cars with poorly MAF sensors and they usually just won't pull at higher revs or have very poor idle. IMO a faulty MAF is unlikely to be ok one minute and not the next (unless it is the wiring connector which is loose/bad). It sound like a cam or crank sensor problem to me. If the car has been that bad then it will have a fault code stored. Get it hooked up to a diagnostic and get the codes read. Most garages will be able to do this for you )or buy your own reader from eBay, they are quite cheap). Once you have the codes you know the problem (hopefully). Do NOT do an ECU reset if you want to read the codes as you will wipe them out. Just noticed you said the engine revs were actually jumping, not just the rev gauge. I have changed my opinion to the throttle pedal sensor
  13. What was your opinion of revolution? Decent folks? Decent prices? Good service? They are just down the road from me but I know very little about them. Cheers Chris
  14. Adrian, the best clutch for your paticular application would be DK (Diaken) Exedy Globalparts Corporation. Marry that up to a Fidanza Aluminium Flywheel and you would be well sorted mate. No requirement for you to upgrade to the other stuff that you mention. Clutch Kit £285.00 Clutch/Fly £575.00 Hope this helps. Cheers, Alex. Don't suppose you fit them too do you? My list of stuff to buy from you grows but finding somewhere to do the work for me is shrinking
  15. It's an excellent idea. Phil did lots of work on my car and was always very helpful (and understanding). I'd love to be involved (I've been lurking the Wales meet list for a while, just haven't quite signed up yet!).
  16. I`m sure this has already been said somewhere but darned if i can find it. Like most, I like the new site look and think it is an improvement (the old site look was getting a bit dated). I'm not mentioning my personal like to have stuff as I appreciate that every site is different, but there is one tweak which I think would be popular: I think most people use 'view unread posts'. The old style of showing the sub-forum then the title was good (so incidentally, could you make the forum that the post is from a little more prominent?), but hovering the mouse over the link didn't give a pop-up of content, whereas it did when browsing directly in a sub-forum. I hoped that the upgrade of the site would fix this but browsing a sub-forum gives a pop-up of the post date when hovering the mouse (info which is already apparent) and hovering when in unread posts still does nothing. This is a shame as you have to judge a post by title only and actually enter the post to decide if you want to read it or not. My number one request would be to have the fist few lines of a post visible when hovering over the link in the unread posts section. Apart from that, its a welcome change and I like the new look Thanks for putting in the time and effort
