Anyone noticed the improvements in the latest update? Amongst other things, finally we now have DLNA server support, which i've been waiting for since day one! Now that i can finally watch my movies through it, i decided to setup the rest of the features. When i first got it last December there was no support for Virgin Media TV, but there is nowadays so i've hooked up my cable box to go through the XBONE, and it now autoplays tv when i say 'Xbox On.' I can do all the other funky stuff too such as telling it to watch Sky One etc. Impressively, i can choose to watch any of my movies from my DLNA server, navigating between folders and picking which film, all by talking to it! Pretty cool.

Cheers mate. I think i'm just gonna buy an impact wrench for it. An air compressor is on my shopping list anyway so will get one asap instead of waiting. Pretty gutted though, i was really looking forward to getting stuck in the weekend but now im lay on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. -

Craaaaaap. Well today i think busted a gut, literally. I've had a slight pain in my lower abdomen for the last 3 weeks. I went to the docs a week ago and they said it's probably just a muscle strain, but today whilst trying to undo one of the wheel nuts on the G the pain got a lot worse. I've now got a small soft lump in the top front of my thigh, and a fair amount of pain/discomfort.... i think i've given myself a hernia. After a bit of googling, it appears to be a rare type called a Femoral Hernia, in the top of my thigh in the femoral channel, instead of the usual groin area. Google says immediate treatment and surgery is required. Gonna try to get into the docs again on Monday and see what they say, but that might be me laid up for a bit. Certainly wont be fitting the wheels the weekend. -
Which track are you doing it at?
-
When i was working at Silverstone this year, i was based in The Wing which overlooked the Stowe circuit in the centre of the track. I used to spend my days literally on the phone watching people on track out of the window, and a few days a week they'd have the single seaters on there. I tell you now, it must be easy to spin them as i watched at least 10 or 12 people go off over the course of 2-3 months whilst i was yapping on the phone If it's wet you've had it!! (Although to be honest, i think they would be even more fun in the wet!).

Very minor update. I had a couple of hours free this morning so I began stripping the interior. It's all nice and chunky and easy to work with. I didnt have too long spare so i just took out the rear bench and some of the interior wall trim. I went out and bought a number of 'bit boxes' so i can keep tabs on all of the parts i take off. -

I was about to ask where you were?? So did you go straight to Warped? Yep we went straight there. I'm aching today from all the running around! No bruises though. -

Okay, first purchase made! I've just bought some 19" Porsche Cayenne wheels for it! £200 with tyres. Cayenne wheels are one of the only wheels with the correct PCD and offset. These probably wont be the final wheels it ends up on, but I wanted some legal tyres and something smaller/more maneuverable to improve drive-ability. I think they may look good painted gold though. -

Cheers guys. So far all i've done is research and lots of reading, and the only thing i've bought is a steam cleaner! So the current plan is: Steam clean the engine bay. There are 3 apparent oil leaks. 2 look easy to get at but the 3rd is an engine out job. I'll need to look if i can pull the engine through the front though as i will need a big ass lift to hoist it up and out! Fix the fuel tank problems. The rubber fuel filler neck pipe and one of the breather pipes has perished, so i need to replace them. Sadly that single rubber pipe from MB is about £150, so i'll be looking for an alternative solution. It also looks like the fuel tank has had a dodgy fiberglass repair on top of it at some point which is now coming apart, so i will need to either repair this, or replace the tank. Again, a new fuel tank on one of these is £1200, so i will probably come up with a custom solution instead. Mine's the 2.8 (although i know i said 2.4 on my first post, my mistake!). It is a lot slower than i was expecting, but i think its part of the experience! On the motorway it was fine at 70mph. I would have though an engine swap would be really easy, but from the reading i've done there have been very few. People are saying that because it's such an old car with no electronics etc, fitting any kind of modern engine in it is very difficult. I find this hard to believe though as surely you would just rip everything out and replace with modern kit? Anyway, we'll see. -
MP1 pioneered bullet time. It was amazing. Strangely though, i never played MP2.
-
Dude, it was p*ss awful. Dreadful controls, dull story, poor acting etc. MP1 was the pinnacle of that series. MP3 on Xbox 360 was amazing. One of the highlights of the last few years for me gaming wise. The controls were excellent - hence why they adopted that exact system for GTA V. And quite the opposite to you - this is one of the few games that i have completed that i havent traded in, so i can replay it again at some point.
