G Man, whenever anybody says anything bad about the Mustang you get all defensive. Relax dude. For what it's worth i love the Mustang and will be owning one at some point, despite the 'average' experience i had in the one i rented on holiday - which you had a pop at me for when i dared to say it was anything less than perfect. AMT - I 100% understand what you're saying. I've always been of this mindset myself, hence the 16 year old 911 i had, as well as the 10 year old Range Rover Sport that im driving now - I've always bought the best car i can for the money, which is usually at the bottom of it's depreciation curve. Now i'm getting older and more sensible (33, lol) im starting to want something newer, more reliable. I cant be bothered getting the spanners out at the weekend to fix my cars anymore - i just want comfort and reliability - as well as the performance and prestige that having good cars has always brought me. This now puts me in a difficult position that i've got expensive tastes that i can't quite justify satisfying (i.e. i now want a new 911 and RRS, but i cant afford them )

Checked for you. £40k loan 3 years £15k deposit £356/month Final payment of £15k Total APR 4.4% So actually with a big enough deposit you can get a monthly payment the same as 320d Car however cannot be more than 7 years old at the end of the term. Cheers! Been after this info for a while.

Just finished watching it. Very happy with it... It's nice, no brain entertainment. I only noticed one swear word, when Hammond said 'Sh!t'. I was disappointed with the drivers they chose, both the american and D'ambrosio, although i did laugh at the american's jokes (communist!). Not sure of the relevance of D'ambrosio... i would have preferred a Mark Webber or similar. Happy to have the gang back on the box.

If someone can tell me how to finance a purchase like this, i'd be very interested to know... On www.allcarleasing.co.uk you can get into a bmw 320d for around £325 per month. Is it possible to get Lease/PCP style finance on used cars such as the Aston example? I'm aware that Halifax offer PCP style finance, but you've got to be a customer to get a quote (I dont even want that - I just want to see some representative examples). http://www.halifax.co.uk/car-finance/compare/

Playing Motorsport Manager on the iphone this week. Very addictive! I used to play Grand Prix Manager on the PC in the late 90's i think and it's very similar to that. Worth a look to fill a train journey at £1.99

Nice work pal. Got the potential to look great!

Has nobody else tried PSVR yet? I finally downloaded Batman for it last night. I'm 20 minutes and i'm blown away. I'm struggling to want to play non-VR games anymore. I've been on the PSVR subreddit quite a bit and everyone there is the same. 2d gaming is over for us! We just need everyone else to get on board so that it really takes off. Infinity Ward released a space shooter demo for it this week to coincide with the COD release. Only 5 mins long but it's class.

Why not ditch the broken parts and use it to make some corner splitters like on P15ULT's old zed?

Where are we seeing these deals? Cheapest i've found is on www.allcarleasing.co.uk for £350. Is there a better source for leasing / PCP deals?

Ho. Lee. Sh1t. I picked up the Playstation VR today following yesterday's release - £350. Unboxed it this evening. The packaging tells you it's a high end piece of kit. Lots of high quality materials, and also lots of cables! So many cables to plug in. I actually had to read the instructions! Once plugged in you simply switch it on and bam! your playstation home screen is displayed as a giant screen about 10 feet away from you. Picture quality is reduced but acceptable, and the head tracking is perfect. The screen stays in the same place as you move your head round, just like being in the cinema. At this point i was very impressed... then i fired up the demo disc that came bundled with it. First think i load was Drive Club VR. It took a minute to load but i was simply blown away by just the loading screen / lobby. I looked down and saw the PS4 controller in my hands, and as i moved it around, it moved perfectly as if i was holding it. When the game loads you are kind of in a car show room. The 3D is breathtaking at this point and just ogling the cars is a joy. Pressing X to select a car and a track, you're then in your car behind the steering wheel. Again the 3D is stunning, and you have fake hands on the wheel. I'm using a controller as i dont have a PS4 steering wheel yet, but it doesnt distract too much from the immersion. It feels instantly natural, how have i played racing games this long without being able to look where i want to go?! The demo is over before you know it, and you get dumped back in the main menu. Next up i try the VR Worlds demo. It's basically a tech demo with 3-4 different scenarios in it. I've only played the scuba diving one so far but the sense of scale and height are just incredible. You're in a shark cage and descending a few hundred feet... Looking over the precipice of the under water cliff edge is fantastic. I didnt expect this level of immersion. Lastly i played Eve Valkyrie - a star-wars ish space shooter. You're a fighter pilot. Again the 3D is stunning and it just feels so natural. At this point i started to feel a little nauseaus. This is after about an hours' play which i guess is to be expected. However my wife had a go and was nearly puking with motion sickness inside 1 minute, so maybe people are affected in different ways. Apparently it's capable of playing 360 degree videos of which there are hundreds on youtube. I'm gonna install the youtube app and give that a go next. Maybe before our next holiday i might buy a 360 degree camera and relive my holiday memories in person! Overall verdict so far - i'm seriously impressed - this feels like a ground breaking, watershed moment in technology. I really hope this takes off and the way we consume movies/entertainment is changed forever.

yeah and i think Batman's only £15 as it takes about 90 mins to play. I mostly want Drive Club. Need to get myself a PS4 wheel as the Thrustmaster TX is XBOX only.

Yeah, i've been keeping on top of things on a daily basis. I'm not buying any of the launch titles. It comes with a demo disk which will do for day one, and i've got all the VR games on my rental list from Boomerang, so i'll try before i buy anything.

I've pre-ordered a Playstation VR for release day next week. I'm a bit concerned by the slightly lower specs than the PC rivals, but it's so much more accessible in terms of price - especially as i don't have a gaming PC already!

I traded in my 3DS and a couple of games today for a PS Vita. Mainly because i want to try out Remote Play. I have to say, i'm pretty impressed with it. Remote play works really well... only down side so far is that the Vita doesn't have L2/R2 buttons so it doesn't work great with some games (where you can't reassign controls, or all buttons are used etc). Just had a few games of Fifa on it though, and played some Drive Club and it works fine!

I supply into F1 (and WEC, and DTM) so have a little more insight than most, Im also lucky enough to regularly talk to people that do this for a living ............ but the biggest problems are obvious to me without expert input. The Mercs are all beating and unstoppable? Not if they arent in clean air .......... and this is the biggest change that has to be made, less reliance on Fancy Dan aero. Make it a single plane front wing and the same at the back and ban CFD and FEA research and presto-hey, cars can run effectively in dirty air and youve reduced each teams annual budget by about 30%. If more downforce is needed reintroduce ground effects that arent affected by turbulence. The cars need to be difficult to drive as well, less downforce will help this but why not go to 1000hp as well? Now that teams will actually be competing against each other without aero getting in the way you can remove the synthetic "tactical" element of tyres and just give them something that will work all race - this will also reduce costs. Finally, run it like an actual business and not some evil dwarf's plaything. The media rights are massive, so why arent more of them goin to the teams - see also prize and overall sponsorship money. Why should there be a net cost for places like Monza, Silverstone and Monaco money to run races, why should fans have to part with a weeks wages to see a race? These circuits and these fans are what keeps F1 alive, not Bernies ever increasing bank account. There are some other things Id like to see (low grip just outside of track limits to dissuade drivers from trying to gain unfair advantage, free TV coverage, less penalties) but simply sorting the aero and adding some power would make it a much better spectacle.

So Assetto Corsa was next to arrive on my rental list. Played it for about 30 mins so far and it seems okay. Took about 15 mins to find the right settings for my Thrustmaster TX but it's dialed in now and feels good. You can really feel the weight transfer/inertia when changing directions, and when you have to apply opposite lock. This is probably the most realistic FFB i've felt on an XBOX game to date. Graphics-wise they're a bit of a let down. I think Project Cars has the edge here. In terms of tracks and cars, the selection is really limited. I think there's something like 8 different tracks, plus the varying layouts (GP, International, etc). I've only done a couple of races so far. The AI seems good. Not sure how much replayability there's going to be in it though... it's a bit emotionless/dull sadly.

On lots of cars in the USA, wing mirrors have a sticker on the glass saying 'Object in the mirror may be closer than they appear'. i think wing mirrors may be very slightly convex giving you a wider field of view, thus making things appear further away.

Can't you buy the game from Amazon for like £20?? Why bother when i'm gonna rent it? £14 a month and i get unlimited rentals with 2x games at a time. I'll just rent it for a couple of weeks and finish it.
